DEVON EDUCATIONAL FUND .
THE annual meeting of the Devon Masonic Educational Fund was held at the Masonic Hall , Exeter , on the 4 fch inst ., Bro . F . B . Westlake in the chair . Bro . J . E . Lord Hon . Treasurer presented his report , which showed that the balance brought forward from 1898 was £ 584 12 s 3 d , the subscriptions and donations for 1899 ( including
£ 52 2 s received in connection with the Concert held in Plymouth Guildhall in November last ) amounted to £ 441 12 s 7 d , interest on deposits £ 33 Os lOd , making a total of £ 1 , 059 5 s 8 d . The
expenditure last year amounted to £ 399 18 s , of which £ 370 represented the cost of maintaining children on the Fund , leaving a balance on the year's working of £ 659 7 s 8 d . Including this amount , the value of the Fund now stands at £ 1 , 959 7 s 8 d .
Bro . Lord was re-elected Hon . Treasurer and Bro . Gover Hon . Secretary , and both were heartily thanked for their past services . Bro . Dillon was also thanked for his services as Assistant Secretary and re-elected . The Acting Prov . G . M ., the Prov . G . Secretary , and Bro . W . E . Westlake were selected to act on the Management Committee .
It was unanimously resolved , on the motion of Bros . Shorto and Lord , to place the candidate nominated by St . George Lodge , No . 2025 , on the Fund without an election , as the circumstances were exceptional , and especial thanks were passed to Bro . Fredk . Sanders , of Plymouth , for the kindness he had shown towards this
child and others of the same family . Three other children , elected by the votes of the subscribers , were the daughter of a deceased Brother of Lodge Friendship , Devonport ; the daughter of an afflicted Brother of Lodge Jordan , Torquay ; and the son of a . late Brother of Lodge Dundas , Plymouth .
