1 FOLLOWING immediately upon the most numerously attended and important ; meeting of the Grand Mark Lodge , held in London , on tho 3 rd inst ., the Consecration of its latest daughter Lodgo , the Alfred , No . 21-7 , iu the ancient university city of Oxford , ou the 5 th , was an event of considerable moment to the Order of Mark Masonry . The entire proceedings connected therewith

evidenced the fervency and zeal with which the brethren of thafc most attractive degree " mark well" their appreciation of its merits , and tho earnest lessons of brotherly affection and goodfellowship which abound throughout its ceremonies . It is less than a year ago that the Leopold Lodge of Mark Masters , No . 235 , was consecrated at

Heading , and in that brief space of time , under the able Mastership of Bro . Edward Margrett , Grancl Steward , it has become ono of fcho best working Lodges in tho Provinces . Under the auspices of thafc Lodge the Alfred has boen established afc Oxford , and the Reading ancl Oxford brethren together provided such an entertainment for
