THE installation and annual festival of thia Lodge was held OD Tuesday , the 2 nd inst ., nt tha County Court Office ? , Roohford . In the absence of the retiring W . M . ( Bro . Geo . Wood ) , the chair waa occupied by Bro . Albert Lucking . Lodge having been opened in due form , tbe report of tbe Audit Committee waa adopted , and Bro . H . W . Massey was passed . Bro . P . J . Wiseman was then installed na

Worshipful Master , the ceremony being ably performed by Brother Albert Lucking . The new W . M . appointed the following Officers : — Broi . George Wood I . P . M ., A . J . Arthy S . W ., G . F . A 1 coherent ) banquet was subsequently served at the Old Ship Hotel , under the presidency of the newly-elected Worshipful Master . fjlHE installation meeting was held in the Lodge room , at the Bull I Hotel , Dartford , on Tnesday , the 20 th ult ., when Bro . C . Hind S . W . was dnly installed as W . M . The Lodge was opened at three o ' clock for formal business , after which the installation of the W . M . elect ( Bro . C . Hind ) was proceeded with by Bro . VV . J . Light P . M . The new W . M . having been saluted by the members and visitors ,

appointed and invested his Officers , as follow : —Brothers P . T . Barton S . W ., T . W . Page J . W ., W . Greig P . M . Treasurer , W . Wills P . M . Secretary , J . M . Longley S . D ., 0 . C . Potter J . D ., A . Bovcy I . G ., J . G . Turner Organist , 0 . J . D'Oyley Mears D . C , T . Burton and T . Wills Stewards . A vote of thanks was nnanimonsly accorded to Bro . Light for fche impressive and careful

manner in which he had performed the installation ceremony . A Past Master ' s jewel was presented to Bro . T . Jenkins by ihe W . M ., io acknowledgment of his services during the pasfc year , and Bro . T . Wills P . P . G . Supt of Works was elected Charity Officer for the year . Afc the conclusion of tho business , the Lodge room was speedily converted into a banqueting hall , and a company of upwards of fifty sat down to a banquet , under the presidency of the

W . M . Bro . 0 . Hind . The repast was admirably served by the Hotel staff , and reflected great credit on all concerned . The room was beautifully decorated with choice flowering and foliage plants , and was greatly admired by all . Grace having been said , the usual toa ° ts were submitted and duly honoured . The musical arrangements were under the direction of Bro . T . W . Page , and those taking part included Bros . Page , Schneider , Arthur Strngnall , Brook , & o ., & o .

ON Saturday , the 17 th ult ., the installation meeting was held afc the Public Hall , Reigate , when Bro . H . J . Garrod was invested as W . M . for the , ensuing year . The impressive ceremony was performed by the retiring W . M . Bro . Gerald Harrison , in an ablo and modest manner . The no-vly-iuvested W . M . appointed his Officers , as lj . low : —Broa . There was a large gathering of brethren present , who took part in the installation of Bro . G . Schjoth S . W . as W . M . for the ensuing year . Bro . J . D . Paussett W . M . was unfortunately prevented from attending through indisposition ' , so the leading part in ' the performanoecof the function

Since our notice of the installation meeting , Bro . Georgo Hunt has been elected Prov . Grand

Treasurer by a large majority of his brethren in East Lancashire , and we make bold to say that no former recipient of the honour was ever more worthy of it . Bro . Hunt is the embodiment of all that ia good and noblo , thoroughly unselfish and charitable , not only in deeds , but words , and one that does good by stealth and blushes to find ifc fame . Many a Christian act of kindness and charity can be

traced to him , and as regards his knowledge of the ritual wo venture to say it would bo almost impossible to find his superior . He has a splendid memory and good delivery , and one mnst be indeed bard to please who is not charmed when listening either to his lectures on tho tracing boards or rendering of tho degrees . Ifc goes without saying thafc every one who has the pleasure of his acquaintance is

delighted thafc he has received such a well merited hononr , and dozens of congratulatory letters have been received by him , from all parts of the country . Our earnest hope , with others is , thafc he may live many years to bo , whafc he undoubtedly is , an ornament to Freemasonry . The Lodge was opened at 7 o'clock , and fche minntes of the previous meeting read and confirmed .

The acting Worshipful Master Brother W . Brookes , addressing the brethren , said it gave him fche most lively and intense sitisfac . tion to announce that Bro . George Hunt "P . M . had , since their last meeting , been elected Provincial Grand Treasurer by a large majority of his East Lancashire brethren . He felt sure all present would feel as pleased as he was at the nows . and think with him

thafc no brother was more worthy of the honour than Bro . Hunt , He was also pleased to state that a sum of money had been cheerfully and speedily subscribed by members of the Shakespeare Lodge for purchasing the necessary regalia , and he now presented Brother Hunt with it , trusting he would live for many years to wear ib amongst them . Bro . Hunt , who was visiby overcome , said , for

once in his life he was utterly at a loss to find words to thank the brethren for their kindness , bufc he would content himself by assur . ing one and all thafc he felfc very grateful for fche honour that had been conferred upon him , and to all those who had contributed to the cost of the regalia , and he would endeavour to fulfil the duties appertaining to his honourable position with credit to himself and

the satisfaction of Provincial Grand Lodge . The ordinary business of-the Lodge was then proceeded with , and Bro . W . Horsley , who was a candidate to be raised to the third degree , was interrogated as to his proficiency iu the second , and , having satisfactorily answered , retired . He was subsequently raised to fche sublime degree by Bro . Brooko ? , in a very impressive manner , whilst Brother Hunt contributed to tho solemnity of the proceedings by performing

appropriate music on the harmonium . There boing no further business , the Lodgo was lowered to tho firsfc degree , and when hearty good wishes had been expressed , it was closed in peace and harmony , at 8 ' 45 . Afc the social board the usual Loyal and Masonio toasts were proposed , and the health of fcho recently elected Provincial Grand Treasurer was proposed and heartily drank . Brother Hunt , in a capital speech , returned thanks , and a very pleasant evening was brought t : > a close at 1020 .

The acting Worshipful Master Brother W . Brookes , addressing the brethren , said it gave him fche most lively and intense sitisfac . tion to announce that Bro . George Hunt "P . M . had , since their last meeting , been elected Provincial Grand Treasurer by a large majority of his East Lancashire brethren . He felt sure all present would feel as pleased as he was at the nows . and think with him

thafc no brother was more worthy of the honour than Bro . Hunt , He was also pleased to state that a sum of money had been cheerfully and speedily subscribed by members of the Shakespeare Lodge for purchasing the necessary regalia , and he now presented Brother Hunt with it , trusting he would live for many years to wear ib amongst them . Bro . Hunt , who was visiby overcome , said , for

once in his life he was utterly at a loss to find words to thank the brethren for their kindness , bufc he would content himself by assur . ing one and all thafc he felfc very grateful for fche honour that had been conferred upon him , and to all those who had contributed to the cost of the regalia , and he would endeavour to fulfil the duties appertaining to his honourable position with credit to himself and

the satisfaction of Provincial Grand Lodge . The ordinary business of-the Lodge was then proceeded with , and Bro . W . Horsley , who was a candidate to be raised to the third degree , was interrogated as to his proficiency iu the second , and , having satisfactorily answered , retired . He was subsequently raised to fche sublime degree by Bro . Brooko ? , in a very impressive manner , whilst Brother Hunt contributed to tho solemnity of the proceedings by performing

appropriate music on the harmonium . There boing no further business , the Lodgo was lowered to tho firsfc degree , and when hearty good wishes had been expressed , it was closed in peace and harmony , at 8 ' 45 . Afc the social board the usual Loyal and Masonio toasts were proposed , and the health of fcho recently elected Provincial Grand Treasurer was proposed and heartily drank . Brother Hunt , in a capital speech , returned thanks , and a very pleasant evening was brought t : > a close at 1020 .
