finHE General Committee met on Saturday last , Bro . JL Richard Evo , Past Grand Treasurer , in the chair . There were also present Broa . George Plucknett , W . Whittley , Albert Escott , George Corbie , J . Glass , George Everett , R . V . Vassar-Smitb , W . Masters , J . E . Le Feuvre ,

W . F . Smithson , C . H . Webb , H . Massey , W . A . Sourrah , H . Dickey , Lewis Solomon , W . M . Stiles , Arthur H . Sourrah , H . Webb , Geo . Motion , Alfred B . Bennett , J . J . Pope , J . S . Cumberland , F . Egerton Bennett , Lieut .-Ool . Robert Mark , Charles A . Walter , George Read , George P .

Gillard , W . H . Saunders , W . W . Morgan , Abraham Grim , wood , Edwin Storr , J . M . McLeod , George R . Langley , Stanley J . Attenborough , Ban . Kauffmann , Rev . Harry Hobb ( Head Master ) , and F . Binckes ( Secretary ) . The minutes of tho May meeting having been read and

confirmed , and thoso of the House Committee of May Jobh read for information , the Provisional Management Committee ' s report as to tho application for tho office of Secretary was read . Thirty-eight applications had been received . Seven of these , however , had been rejected , while three

the electors the names and qualifications of the candidates and the result of the inquiries of tho Committee . Brother W . A . Scurrah said that although he had not thc slightest objection to thc proposition now moved aud seconded ,

inasmuch as the General Committee was to a certain extent responsible , and not the Provisional Committee , he should propose a slight modification in the proposal—That a certain number of the Provisional Committee and a

certain number of the General Committee should form a Sub-Committee for tho purpose of going into the testimonials , and recommending the candidate they might select to the'doctors . Ho thought that would rjive satisfaction to tho mcnibors of the General
