At the conclusion of the ceremony the Brethren adjourned to the Red Lion Inn , where thoy sat down to an excellent banquet , in turn followed by the usual toasts . o o o

The Lodge having been opened in due form , Bro . C . Wood , A . R . C . O ., was passed to the second degree by Bro . H . R . Heasman P . M . P . P . G . J . D . acting for the W . M . Bro . G . W . King who afterwards installed his successor , Bro . W . D . Child , in a most able
manner . The new Officers included Bros . Armour S . W ., Hammond J . W ., White Treas ., Heasman Sec , Spencer S . D ., Boreham J . D ., Paul I . G ., Bailey D . C , Stratford and Smith Stwds ., Edwards Org . The Brethren subsequently adjourned to the Golden Lion , to a banquet , which was presided over by tbe W . M ., and excellently served by Bro . P . Reynolds .

Railing , replying to the toast of the Grand Officers present ancl past , said he was always glad to come to the Liberty of Havering Lodge , not only for the cordial welcome extended to him , but also because its members set such a good example in Masonry , and particularly iu regard to matters of Charity .
During the evening a P . M . s jewel was presented to Bro . G . W . King , and a handsomely illuminated testimonial , surrounded by cabinet photographs of all the Officers during his year of office , and enclosed in a massive frame , was presented to Bro . H . T . Hardy P . M . in recognition of his services .
This being the- twenty-first Anniversary of the Lodge , the sum of ten guineas was collected in the room , to be devoted to one of the Masonic Charities . o o o

Letters were received from the Provincial Grand Master of Kent , Earl Amherst , and Bro . James Smith Eastes D . P . G . M . of Kent , regretting their inability to be present . The heavy work of thc Lodge was very ably carried out by the W . M ., and be was congratulated on all hands for the impressive way in which thc ceremony of Installation was performed .
Bro . Thomas Smith gave ample proof cf the wisdom of the Brethren in electing so able a Master for the ensuing twelve months , the way in which he appointed and invested his Officers leaving nothing to be desired , and auguring well for the work to be performed in tho future .
An elaborate banquet had been prepared for the Brethren and their guests at the Village Hall , under the able management of Brother George Whomes , of the Bull Hotel , and gave general satisfaction . o o o
CENTURION LODGE , No . 2322 . AN emergency meeting was held at the Victoria Hotel , Manchester , on Monday , the 2 nd hist ., primarily to pass Bro . Major W . Compton Hall to the degree of F . C ., and to raise Bro . Captain Oscar Samson to fhe sublime degree of a Master Matou , but as the latter Brother did cot put in an appearance , the
ceremony of passing only was performed . The Lodge was opened by Bro . Msjor John Heap I . P . M ., and Bio . Hall having answered the usual interrogatories , the Lodge was advanced , and he was duly passed by Bro . Colonel John Eaton P . M . P . P . G . Treasurer in a masterly manner .
