MARK BENEVOLENT FUND .
NEARLY two hundred members of the Mark Degree , together with ladies , supported the Earl of Euston Pro Grand Master in his presidency on Wednesday evening over the 32 nd Anniversary Festival of the Benevolent Fund attached to the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons . The Festival was held at the Freemasons' Tavern , London ,
and among those who attended were Viscount Dungarvan Past Deputy Grand Master , the Hon . Alan de Tatton Egerton Deputy Grand Master , Sir Thomas Roe , and others . The fund , which was established thirty-two years ago , is divided into three parts . It first grants relief to Mark
Masons who require assistance , it next provides small annuities , and thirdly , it pays for the education of the children of Mark Masons in the localities in which they reside . It is raised entirely by voluntary subscriptions which are collected by Stewards at each of the annual Festivals . It has also the merit of having no expenses attached to its award or distribution .
The Earl of Euston had been President of the Festival on a former occasion , when his list of subscriptions was the highest up to that time , Subsequently , however , that was capped by the Chairmanship of Bro . Letch Mason Provincial
Grand Master of West Yorkshire , and an endeavour was made this year ort the Earl of Euston ' s second chairmanship to beat even that record . The attempt was successful , the list of subscriptions amounting to £ 5 , 026 .
