During the ceremony Bro . Chaplain the Rev . F . I . Greenwood gave an able and excellent oration , of a very high order , on the nature and princijjles of the Institution . The quartette rendered the Anthems " Behold how good and

joyful " and " Glory be to God in the Hi ghest , " also the responses and hymns in splendid form , while Bro . T . Huntington sang "Be Thou Faithful" in his usual excellent style . Bro . Shotton did yeoman service as Organist during the evening . Bro . H . de Lima Woods made a good D . C .

Before the Lodge was closed Bro . Preceptor Mercer , in a few well chosen words , expressed the feelings of the Brethren , and thanked Bro . Priest and all the Brethren for the excellent way in which the ceremony was done , and for providing so enjoyable an

evening . Bro . F . S . Priest replied , thanking the Brethren and expressing his opinion that if it were not for the valuable assistance from the other Brethren helping him , he could not have got through his part ; so the thanks were more due to them than himself . A most enjoyable evening was brought to a close in peace and harmony with the closing hymn .

********** Prince Frederick William Lodge , No . 753 . THE ceremony of Consecration was worked in this Lodge on Tuesday , iotli inst ., at the Crown Hotel , Aberdeen Place , Maida Vale , with full musical honours and with the same Brethren in the different Officers as was the case at the St . John Lodge , of which a report appears in this issue , with the exception of the Inner Guard , which Office was filled in this instance by Bro . A . C . Rasey .

Bro . T . Golby was installed W . M . b y Bro . F . S . Priest with full impressive ritual . The W . M . then ably invested as his Officers Bros . W . G . Cave S . W . , W . A . Holdup J . W ., Knapp S . D ., Clayton J . D ., Whiteway I . G ., and M ' ax Lichtenberg Tyler . Bro . H . De Lima Woods made an excellent D . C , his full and resonant voice lending to the duties of

dignity his Office . The Oration by Bro . the Rev . F . I . Greenwood was Masonically conceived and beautifully delivered , with sincere adoration for the Great Architect of the Universe , to whom he earnestly invited all Brethren to appeal in time of necessity , and it thoroughly deserved the hearty eulogy it received from Bro . Thomas .

The initiation ceremony was rehearsed , Bro . Boughton taking the candidate ' s place . Bro . Inderwick vacated the chair in favour of Bro . Stokes , who went through the rehearsal of the investiture of Officers . He afterwards opened the Lodge in the second degree , and Bro . Pettit was examined and entrusted , after which the raising ceremony was rehearsed .

Bro . Eyles was elected to act as vv . M . on I nday , 27 th mst ., as the Fifteen Sections will occupy the : attention of the Brethren on the evenings of the 13 th and 20 th inst . Bro . Pettit was elected a member of this old established Lodge of Instruction , which has been meeting at its present quarters for about twenty-five years .

Oberti for the admirable manner in which he had rehearsed the duties of the chair for the first time . In reply he thanked the Brethren for the great consideration he had always received from them .

Lodge was resumed to the first degree , and the W . M . vacated the chair in favour of Bro . Thomson W . M . of the Upton Lodge , who rehearsed the ceremony of initiation , Bro . Baillie acting as candidate . Bro . Whetston was elected W . M . for next meeting .

********** Hammersmith Lodge , No . 2090 . ON Wednesday , 4 th inst ., we visited Wj'combe House , Hammersmith , and found these comfortable quarters occupied by a considerable number of Brethren anxious to hear Bro . H . A . Barnett render the ceremonies . Although young , and a member

of the Craft but a few years , he has given much time and attention to the working of the different degrees , and his careful rendering and perfect elocution always draw forth the approbation of those present . Bro . Hellier , the Preceptor of this and several Lodges of Instruction , is to be congratulated on having turned out such an

apt pupil . The Officers were Bros . Harry Warren ( W . M . of the Mother Lodge ) as S . W ., A . Payne J . W ., W . Hillier P . M . Prec , R . W . Gale Sec , G . Woods S . D ., T . Golby J . D ., A . Saunders I . G . There were also present Bros . Arthur Williams P . M . V . P . B . G . P ., J . Bartlett P . M . ; J . H . Gumming P . M ., F . Cave , H . de L . Woods , r . Boughton , W . Lee , A . Berkovitch , & c .

After the Lodge was opened , Bro . Berkovitch answered the usual questions and retired . Lodge was opened in the second degree , and Brother Bartlett having proved his proficiency was entrusted , and the Lodge opened in the third degree , when the ceremony was rehearsed . Lodge was resumed to the first degree and called off and on .

Bro . H . Warren was by the unanimous vote of those present elected to occup ) - the chair on the 18 th inst ., as the second Annual Dinner would take place on the next meeting night . Bro . Berkovitch was elected a member .

The Brethren then proceeded to choose a Treasurer , and Bro . H . G . Cox being the only candidate proposed was declared to be elected . Bro . Cox acknowledged the compliment paid him , and assured those present he would do his best to further the interests of the Lodge of Instruction .

********** Hammersmith Lodge , No . 2090 . ON Wednesday , 4 th inst ., we visited Wj'combe House , Hammersmith , and found these comfortable quarters occupied by a considerable number of Brethren anxious to hear Bro . H . A . Barnett render the ceremonies . Although young , and a member

of the Craft but a few years , he has given much time and attention to the working of the different degrees , and his careful rendering and perfect elocution always draw forth the approbation of those present . Bro . Hellier , the Preceptor of this and several Lodges of Instruction , is to be congratulated on having turned out such an

apt pupil . The Officers were Bros . Harry Warren ( W . M . of the Mother Lodge ) as S . W ., A . Payne J . W ., W . Hillier P . M . Prec , R . W . Gale Sec , G . Woods S . D ., T . Golby J . D ., A . Saunders I . G . There were also present Bros . Arthur Williams P . M . V . P . B . G . P ., J . Bartlett P . M . ; J . H . Gumming P . M ., F . Cave , H . de L . Woods , r . Boughton , W . Lee , A . Berkovitch , & c .

After the Lodge was opened , Bro . Berkovitch answered the usual questions and retired . Lodge was opened in the second degree , and Brother Bartlett having proved his proficiency was entrusted , and the Lodge opened in the third degree , when the ceremony was rehearsed . Lodge was resumed to the first degree and called off and on .

Bro . H . Warren was by the unanimous vote of those present elected to occup ) - the chair on the 18 th inst ., as the second Annual Dinner would take place on the next meeting night . Bro . Berkovitch was elected a member .

********** Earls Court s Lodge , No . 2765 . THE usual weekly meeting took place at the Greyhound Hotel , Kensington Square , on Thursday , 5 th inst ., Bros . Mi . J . R . R . Spring W . M . . , W . Binfield S . W . . C . G . Hatt P . M . T . W ., John

Worth P . M . Prec . ]¦ H . Gumming P . M . acting Sec , G . E . White S . D ., H . G . Cox T-D ., W . Smethurst I . G ., Arthur Williams P . M . V . P . B . G . P ., F . P . Langford P . M ., M . Bro . Leete having offered as candidate , was examined and entrusted , after which the Lodge was opened in the third degree and the ceremony was gone through . Lodge was closed to the first degree . Bro . Binfield was elected W . M . for the next meeting .

The Brethren then proceeded to choose a Treasurer , and Bro . H . G . Cox being the only candidate proposed was declared to be elected . Bro . Cox acknowledged the compliment paid him , and assured those present he would do his best to further the interests of the Lodge of Instruction .
