ST . MICHAEL'S LODGfcl , No . 211 . BRO . HARRY NASH the new W . M . presided at the meeting of this Lodge , on Tuesday last , for tho first time since his ins tallation . The brethren met at tho Albion , Aldorsgate Streot , nt the reasonable hoar of 6 p . m ., wheu thoro was a goodly attendance of Ihe membors , with the following Visitors : —Bros . No . 189 G . There was no ceremonial work beforo tho Lodgo , !> iit several matters of business were bronght under consideration . The grant of £ 10 10 s , the amount to be placed on the list of tho W . M . ns Steward at the recent Festival of the Royal Ma « ouic Bonevolont Institution , whioh had been tacitly agreod on by tho membors ut a previous meeting , was regularly bronght before tho Lodge and

formally agreed to . Bro . Usher Back P . M . renewod his proposal , niade at the last meeting , that the Lodge should snbscribo something towards the Fund being raised for commuting tho proposed retiring allowanco to Bro . F . Biuokes . Bro . P . M . Morgan gave details of tho scheme propounded by the West Yorkshiro brothron , and incidentally montioned that a few days since the R . W . Bro . T . \ V .

Tew had written to hun ( Bro . Morgan ) intimating that the brethren of West Yorkshire had already subscribed their quota . Bro . Morgan expressed an opinion that the proposed amount , £ 2500 , would very ahortly be raised . Bro . P . M . Green ( Treasurer ) proposed that St . Miohaol ' s Lodga vote £ 2 10 s towards the Fund . This was seconded by P . M . ltadoliffe ( Secretary ) , and was unanimonsly agreed

to . Tho name of a brother who desired to join the Lodge was handed in , nud particulars as to two candidates for initiation . These propositions will bo fully considered at tho next meeting . After rontino business , Lodge was closed . Refreshments were afterwards supplied , and a pleasant two hours were spent ; the musical and dramatio talent of the members being exeroised to the satisfaction of all in attendance .

HARMONY LODGE , No . 309 . PREVIOUS to the usual meeting on Thursday evening , the 6 th inst ., a number of brethren and friends assembled at the lied Lion Hotel , Fareham , for the purpose of paying a mark of esteem to one of the brethren . Bro . J . B . Goldsmith , in the name of those

present , asked Bro . Edgar Goble to accept an elegantly designed reading lamp , upon a hammered brass stand , with perforated china base , together with a gold pou and pencil case , the former having tho following inscription : —

Miss Evolyn Padwick , Bros . G . Perriu , S . H . Soper , W . F . Buoth , and A . S . Cooke , the duties of accompanist being ably carried out by Bro . W . Desin . Bro . Bioletti gave a recitation , and Bro . W . Kuhe a pianoforte solo .

CAMBRIAN LODGE , No . 464 . THE second meeting of this Lodge since the installation of Bro . nowoll-Walters in the chair of K . S . took place on Wed . nosday , the 5 th inst ., at the Masonic Hall , Picton Place , Haverford - west . There were present the I . P . M . Bro . B . M . Davies , Past Masters Bros . Rule Owen , Thomas Russell , Hood Williams . Levi

Harries , E . H . Ellis , W . L . Harding ; the S . W ., S . D ., J . D ., I . G ., two Stewards , Secretary and Organist , and other brethren . Thanks to Bro . P . M . W . L . Harding Organist there was a full musical service , which always renders the ceremonies rnuoh mere impressive . After tho Lodgo was opened and the minutes confirmed , a ballot was

taken for Mr . Richard Mumford as a candidate for Freemasonry , which resulted in his being nuaniraously accsptod . Tho candidate , being in attendance , was properly prepared , regularly introduced , and initiated into the mysteries and priviloges of Antiont Freemasonry . A candidate for initiation was proposed by Bro . T .

James , seconded by P . M . Bro . Levi Harries , and strongly supported by P . M . Bro . W . L . Harding . Lodge was closed , and the brethren retired to their refectory , where the W . M . gave the toast which is nowhere more loyally given and responded to than in " Little England beyond Wales "—the Queen and Craft , the brethren nil sicf .

opinions from all the br . ethren . Bro . Rule Owen responded iu eloquent terms , and took the opportunity of proposing the health of tho Organist Bro . P . M . W . L . Harding , who retnrned thanks in his usual flaont manner . Bro . Rule Owon proposed in very felicitous terms the health of a visiting brother , who he Etated was both a friend and a relative of the W . M ., viz ., Bro . Jolly , of tho Imno Newton Lodge , 859 . Bro . Jolly rose to thank the brethren for the

manner in which they had received the toast , and said that although he had seen many initiations in his own Lodgo , he had never seen the work better done than on that evening . Songs were sung by tho W . M ., Past Masters Rule Owen , Hood Williams , Levi Harries , and Bro . Bowles . The Enterod Apprentice song was sung , the brethren joining hands in the usual nm-ner at the last verse . The proceeding terminated with singing Gu-1 save the Queen .

SYKES LODGE , No . 1040 . ON Friday evening , the 7 th inst ., a oharity ball was giveu in the Assembly Rooms , Driffield . The rooms had boon most tastefully decorated by Mr . T . W . Stabler , emblems of tho Craft forming prominent features , one of tho most admired of these being a device composed of Lodge banners ( the gift of Bro . T . Dixon , of Beverley ) , and also the Royal Arch shields and banners . About sixty couples

were present , including brethren from several neighbouring Lodges , and dancing was kept up till a late hour , the orchestra being occupied by Mr . Young's quadrille band . The arrangements were under the

management of Bros . J . Elgey , J . Bordass , J . Dunn , W . Highmoor , H . Potts , and J . Kirby . Bro . J . W . Marshall acted as M . C . The refreshments wore provided by Bro . J . Holtby , of the Buck Hotel , Driffield .
