— : o : — DUKE OF FIFE CHAPTER , No . 2345 . ( pHE annual festival was held at Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet Street , on 1 Wednesday , 5 th inst ., Comp . A . Harvey Z . The installation of Principals was performed in a most exemplary manner by Comp . Voisey , who installed Comps . J . A . Bandall as Z ., W . G . Boswell as H ., and S . G . Bonner as J . Comp . Randall , who had been very ill , then , with the full sympathy and

permission of the members , vacated the chair while Comp . J . W . Folkard P . Z . invested the Officers for the year , viz .: —Comps . C . Woods S . E ., A . Robertson Treasurer , J . Mitchell P . S ., T . Morris 1 st Assist . Soj ., C . J . Fitch 2 nd Assist . Soj ., J . Smith Steward , J . A . Barton Organist , and C . Patrick Janitor . The S . N .-elect , Comp . Munslow , being absent , was not invested . Comps . Taylor and Sinclair , the Auditors , presented the report of the Audit Committee , congratulating the Chapter on its sound financial position . Comp . morns reported tne illness ot ( Jomp . wyer . r .., ana .. was instructed to send him a letter of hearty sympathy , also to express a hope that he would soon be fully restored to health . Comp . Voisey P . Z . read the communication from the Grand Master , giving particulars of the Grand Diamond Jubilee Meeting to be held at the Albert Hall , on 14 th June . Other communications -were read and the S . E . drew attention to the meeting of Freemasons , at the South London Cathedral , on Ascension Day . A candidate was proposed for the next meeting , alter which , all business being concluded , the Convocation adjourned .

Comp . J . W . Folkard presided over the festive board , and after doing justice to a most recherche banquet , well worthy of the traditions of the house , the usual Loyal and Arch toasts were duly honoured . Comp . Folkard proposed the Grand Officers , referring to their action generally in the interests of the Order . Comp . A . Harvey , in proposing the M . E . Z ., said he did so with pleasure and yet with regret , pleasure that Comp . Randall had reached the high and honoured position of their first ruler , regret that he had been so ill , and consequently had been compelled to run away . Every member knew how earnest and energetic their M . E . Z . was . He had from the commencement of their existence been held in high esteem , and had their very heartiest Rvmimf . hv at this time .

Comp . Folkard suitably responded ; after which he proposed the H . and J ., both capital fellows , good ritualists , earnest workers , good-hearted Masons . In their hands the interests of the Chapter were sure to be wellwatched . Comp . Boswell , as the first baby in the Chapter , was glad his efforts were appreciated . He should still work hard . Comp . Bonner expressed similar sentiments , and also referred to the careful and impressive installation of himself by Comp . Voisey .

The M . E . Z . proposed the Installing Principal . Comp . Voisey had aided them from the very first . His attendance , advice , and help were always forthcoming ; and were always much appreciated by the members . He had that evening installed the Principals in a manner that was simply perfect . They wished him long life , health and happiness . Comp . Voisey said that he had been present at the Chapter at its

consecration , and bad watched it carefully ever since . He would do anything he could for it . His pleasure at installing Comp . Randall was very great . He had watched his Masonic career , and had put him through almost every step that he had taken . As a Mason he was a very capital fellow , and would make a good ruler over their meetings . Other toasts followed .

THE Great Western Railway Company has issued a nicely illustrated pamphlet , containing lists of Farmhouses , seaside and country lodgings , Hotels , and Boarding Houses in the districts served by the Great Western

line , including Jersey and Guernsey . The pamphlet shows the accommoda' tion obtainable , and the features of interest in the various localities , and will be found exceedingly useful to Tourists . Copies can be obtained free on application at the Company ' s London Receiving Offices , and at Paddington Station and at the principal Stations throughout the line , or the Company ' s

Divisional Superintendents at Paddington , Sec , will forward same on receipt of twopence to defray postage . Copies can also be obtained at Messrs . Smith and Son ' s bookstalls at the Stations on the Great Western Railway , at the price of Id each . The pamphlet is published by Messrs . Walter Hill & Co ., of 67 and 69 Southampton Row , London , W . C .
