Pic-Nic Of The Architect Lodge, No. 1375.

Bro . Beever then proposed the toast of the Ladies , saying that this duty , though pleasant , waa a very awkward one for a bachelor to perform . After a few apropos remarks upon this subject he concluded by giving a hearty greeting to all assembled . Bro . Carse , in a very t * rsi and dignified speech , responded on behalf of the fair sex , stating that ho possessed one especial

qualification for the duty—he was still single . But though not married , this did not militate ngnicst tbe fact that he admired the ladie ? , and perhaps equally ns well us lio did tho married men . Bro . James Morrison S . W . proposed the toast of the gentlemen guests , and expressed a hope that should those who woro not Masons participate in next year ' s pic-nio , it would be in the character of brethren .

Mr . Ingram responded on behalf of the non-Masonio element , and Bro . G . Burslem on behalf of the guests who belonged to the Craft . Brop . W . Rushton and Henry Nail distinguished tnemselves by a display of vocal ability , and Bro . Beever treated the company to a few tunes on tbe fairy bells . Shortly after 8 p . m . our party left the hotel for tho station , aud ultimately reached Manchester about 10 * 30 , having spent a very happy day .
