M . distinctly remombered the time when he was initiated , and tho impression it made on his mind ; he hoped that tho ceremony of the evening had made a like impression on Bro . Roxby . Tho initiate briefly replied ; he was pleased to have become a member of the Lodge , and was extremely gratified at the reception

accorded him , which far exceeded his expectations . The I . P . M . in giving the toast of tho W . M ., referred to his having so efficiently filled the minor offices of the Lodge . In hia position as Master tho brethren were not yet in a position to form an opinion , bnt he had no doubt that all the duties of that office wonld bo performed by Bro . Loah in as creditable a manner as had been his previous attempts .

Bro . Leah in reply expressed his intention of carrying out tho duties of the chair to tho beat of his ability ; ho would do all he could for the Confidence Lodge , . and for the members thereof . He then proposed the health of the Visitors . He waa gratified at seeing so many present , to each of them he tendered a most hearty welcome . Bro . Edmands , of the Grand Stewards Lodge , replied . Tho

next toast the W . M . considered the principal one of the ovening ; ho referred to that of the P . M . 'a . The Confidence Lodge had had many good Masters , but few , if any , superior to Bro . Reed . If the brethren considered the way in which ho had performed hi 3 dnties , they wonld agree that the jewel he , as W . M ., waa abont to present on behalf of the Lodge , was richly deserved .

He waa sure the other Past Maaters were ever ready to como forward and devote their energiea for the benefit of the Lodge . Bro . Reed , on behalf of the Past Masters , tendered his hearty thanks . He assured the brethren that he did not enter the office of Master without somo trepidation . If he had pleased the brethren he had pleased himself . Freemasonry had often proved a boon to him , in forming and cementing true friendships . He considered he had that evening

been promoted to what he would call the Houso of Lords of Freemasonry . To the toast of the Treas . and Sec . Bro . Shackoll replied . Preliminaries being formally complied with , and the

minutes of last meeting read and confirmed , Bro . Henry Green jun . was passed to tho degreo of Fellow Craft , Bro . A . Greon giving a most effective rendering of the ceremony . The ballot was taken for Bro . Neoeles ' G . Mussabini , of Lodge Canongate Kilwinning , No . 2 S . C . It proved satisfactory , and that brother took his seat as a

member of tho Lodge . After routine business , and a notice of motion to bo brought before the members at tho next meeting , the Lodgo waa closed . The brethren then partook of slight refresh , ments , and spent an hour or two in social converse , and in listening to somo capital songs , & c

Prosperity Chapter , No . 290 , Huddersfield . — The regular Convocation of this Chapter was held on Wednesday , the 5 th inst ., at tho Masonic Hall , South Parade . The Chapter was opened punctually at seven o ' clock , by Companions Wm . Schofield P . Z . ( who acted in tho absence of Comp . W . Harrop ) , Jno . W . Turner H ., and Wm . Smith P . Z . ( who acted for Comp . Allen Haigh , who was also

absent ) . There were likewise present Comps . Jno . Rhodes P . Z ., B . Hutchinson P . Z . Treasurer , Wall as S . E ., Faner S . N ., E . Dyson P . S ., Mitchell and Lewis Brierley Assist . Soj ., and several others . The minutes of last Convocation having been read and confirmed , tho business was proceeded with : —to revise the bye-laws of the Chapter ,

in accordance with suggestions from Prov . Grand Chapter ; after the completion of which the Chapter was closed , and the Comps . retired to the banquet hall , where they spent an hour in refreshment and enjoyment , paying duo honour to the toasts which were brought to their notice , and separating with every wish for the prosperity of Royal Arch Masonry .

Lodge having been opened in due form , and the minutes read and confirmed , tho first section was worked . Bro . Adams then took tho chair , to rehearse the'installation ceremony , Bro . T . W . Cooper being presented as W . M . elect . The M . M . ' s having retired , a Board of Installed Masters waa formed . Bro . Jupo W . M . No . 1287 wa 3 installed pro tem during the absence of Bro . Cooper . The brethren

having been re-admitted , Bro . Cooper took the chair , and waa saluted according to ancient custom , and then , in well chosen words , invested his officers as above . Bro . Adams gave the Ancient Charges in his most effective style . The second and third aectiona were worked . Bro . Langdou of the mother Lodge waa elected a member . A cordial vote of thanka to Bro . Adams brought a very enjoyable ovening to a close .

Prosperity Chapter , No . 290 , Huddersfield . — The regular Convocation of this Chapter was held on Wednesday , the 5 th inst ., at tho Masonic Hall , South Parade . The Chapter was opened punctually at seven o ' clock , by Companions Wm . Schofield P . Z . ( who acted in tho absence of Comp . W . Harrop ) , Jno . W . Turner H ., and Wm . Smith P . Z . ( who acted for Comp . Allen Haigh , who was also

absent ) . There were likewise present Comps . Jno . Rhodes P . Z ., B . Hutchinson P . Z . Treasurer , Wall as S . E ., Faner S . N ., E . Dyson P . S ., Mitchell and Lewis Brierley Assist . Soj ., and several others . The minutes of last Convocation having been read and confirmed , tho business was proceeded with : —to revise the bye-laws of the Chapter ,

in accordance with suggestions from Prov . Grand Chapter ; after the completion of which the Chapter was closed , and the Comps . retired to the banquet hall , where they spent an hour in refreshment and enjoyment , paying duo honour to the toasts which were brought to their notice , and separating with every wish for the prosperity of Royal Arch Masonry .

Lodge having been opened in due form , and the minutes read and confirmed , tho first section was worked . Bro . Adams then took tho chair , to rehearse the'installation ceremony , Bro . T . W . Cooper being presented as W . M . elect . The M . M . ' s having retired , a Board of Installed Masters waa formed . Bro . Jupo W . M . No . 1287 wa 3 installed pro tem during the absence of Bro . Cooper . The brethren

having been re-admitted , Bro . Cooper took the chair , and waa saluted according to ancient custom , and then , in well chosen words , invested his officers as above . Bro . Adams gave the Ancient Charges in his most effective style . The second and third aectiona were worked . Bro . Langdou of the mother Lodge waa elected a member . A cordial vote of thanka to Bro . Adams brought a very enjoyable ovening to a close .
