— : o : — ST . JOHN'S LODGE , No . 104 A MEETING was held at the Ashton Arms , Greek-street Stockport , on Monday , the 11 th inst . There were present Bros . John Bell W . M ., E . Johnson S . W ., Fox J . W ., J . H . Andrew Treas ., Geo . Gaskill Sec , William Gleave S . D ., T . Davies J . D ., J . Tutton acting I . G ; P . M . ' s Bros . J . Boresford P . P . S . G . D ., H . Finoh P . G . D . C ., W . Harrison P . P . S . G . D ., Hy . Collier P . P . G . Org ., Wm .

accompaniment , about 9 of the Pa « t Masters and brethren taking part in this portion , with all the ability of professional singers . It was resolved as being expedient to advance the fees for admission and subscription ; the matter to be referred to tho General Purposes Committee to decide upon the amount of the advance to be recom .

mended to the Lodge . Bro . Collier was made an honorary member of tho Lodge , in consideration of his valnable services to the Craft . Hearty pood wishes were expressed from the Visitors , and the brethren then adjourned to a substantial snpper . Tho usual toasts

followed , and high encomiums wero passed by the Visitors ; all thanking the W . M . for the great treat afforded them in the Lodge , and the hospitality displayed at the social board . The able manner in which Bro . Johnson explained tho first Tracing Board was especially praised .

THE twelfth installation meeting of this Lodge , which is justly celebrated for good working , was h » ld on the 7 th instant , at the Westbourne , Craven-road , Bayswater , and was well attended by members and visitors . Baradell and Wyndow were raised , and Bro , Chappell was passed , the ceremonies being conducted in a perfect manner . Tho report of the Andifc Committee was received and adopted . A Board of Installed Masters was ononed , and Bro .

Stephens W . M . elect was presented , and duly installed into tho chair by the retiring W . M ., in a manner that warranted the praises accorded him . There were twenty-two membors and Past Masters present at the Board of Installed Masters . The I . P . M . efficiently acted as D . C , assisted by Bro . Mickleberg . The

newly-installed Master having been sainted according to ancient custom , appointed and invested his Officer : —Brothers Hnnt I . P . M ., Powell S . W ., Whitehead J . W ., Langridge Treasurer , G . Read P . M . Secretary , Hayes S . D ., Pavne J . D ., Bond I . G ., Mickleberg P . M . D . C , Rev . W . E . Heaton Chap ., A . Stephens A . D . C ,

Vear S ., Curtis A . S ., Culloch Tyler . The applause that followed tho investment showed the W . M . had made a good selection . Hearty good wishes were now tendered by tho Visitors , and Lodgo was closed until October . The brethren theD sat dovrn to a sumptuous banquet and dessert , provided by Bros . Browning and Wesley . A

very elegant menu card was provided by the W . M . It contrined his photograph , and was essentially a work of art . The list of toasts was printed in " yo olde Englishe stylle . " Grace having been said , the W . M . proceeded with the Loyal and Masonic toasts ; he suggested that the programme was a long one , but ho would abbreviate his

remarks ; he would , however , strive to honour those who so well de . served it . In speaking of tho Worshipful Master Bro . Hunt I . P . M . said ho had known Bro . Stephens for many years ; in fact , he had tho honour of introducing him into tho Lodge . He was indeed proud that night to propose his health , and instal him as W . Master ,

He was one who would carry out every duty reqnired of him , and would fill the chair of the Lodge with credit to himself and satisfac tion to the brethren . It was with great pleasure the W . M . rose to respond to the toast so kindly proposed by the Installing Master . He should never forget the ceremony . It wns flattering

to him to see 22 W . M . ' s and P . M . ' s at his installation . Such a gathering was unprecedented in their Lodge ; he hoped to follow in the footsteps of his predecessors , and thanked one and all heartily for the reception they had given the toast . The next toast was the health of the I . P . M . and Installing

Master . The Lodge had always been proud of its workers , and what the brethren had seen that evening was eminently satisfactory . During Bro . Hunt ' s year of office he had initiated ten candidates , ' and had been complimented over and over again for his work . The brethren had combined to present him with a Past Master ' s collar

and jewel , and he ( tho W . M . ) had now great pleasnre , in tho name of the Lodge , to present him with a gold Past Master ' s jewel , which all hoped he might live long to wear among them . In addition , he had to present him with an elegant illuminated testimonial ' on vellum . This was the work of Bro . Bailey , who requested Bro . Hunt to accept it as a gift from him . It , however , required a frame , and

this he ( the W . M . ) had great pleasnre in presenting . These gifta may be said to testify to the respect Bro . Hunt is held in . In the course of his reply , Bro . Hnnt said he conld scarcely find words to thank the brethren for the Past Master's jewel and the collar and jewel : while as to the testimonial on vellum , BO artistically executed

by Bro . Bailey , he felt he could nofc satisfy himself by auythmg he conld express . However , he never should forget their kindness ; ifc would make a lasting impression on him . The toast of the Past Masters came next on the list ; their ability had been seen and ap . predated in the past ; no better could be found in any Lodge . Ho

would oall on Bros . Longhnrst aud Chalfout to respond . The former brother , in acknowledging the compliment , said ifc was a great pleasure so seo the Lodge in so flourishing a condition , and to see the present W . M . occupying the chair . He regretted not being able to he more frequently with them . Bro . Chalfont followed . He said

Bro . Lonsrhnrst wns the first Master , and now the Father of the Lodge . He hoped to see many junior Officers eventually occupy the chair . The Worshipful Master then proposed the toast of the Visitors . He had been hononred with a distinguished company } among them was one he would especially refer to , —Bro . Seager-Hunfc

S . W . of the Abbey Lodge . Brother Hunt is known and respected , and they conld indeed feel ifc an honour his being present . He would associate with the toast the name of Bros . Andrews P . G . D . Berks and Bucks , Raker P . M ., Woolley W . M . 15 , S . Phillips P . M . 173 , and Davie W . M . elect 173 . Bro . Hunt said he felt a pleasure in rising to

respond to the toast , although he thought another brother should have preceded him . It was essentially a pleasnre to listen to our grand ritual when it was eloquently rendered , and this had been especially the case that evening . What the new Worshipfnl Master had already done showed he was likely to prove a credit to the

Lodge , and to add lnsfcre to its reputation . He trnsted he might be present on a future occasion , when he felfc assured what he prognosticated now would be fully realised . The other brethren whose names were mentioned also bore testimony to the ability that had been displayed by those who were entrusted with the govern .

ment of the Lodge . Other toasts comprised the health of the Treasurer and Secretary , the Wardens and Officers . To each satisfactory response was made , and then tho Tyler ' s toast conclnded one of the

most agreeable evenings ever passed in Freemasonry . The W . M . provided an artistic concert . Miss Mei'edith Elliot , Miss Minnie Laurie , and Nita Reba sang most exquisitely . Bros . Toy , Wiekens , and Edgar also contributed to the harmony .

ROYAL COMMEMORATION LODGE , No . 1585 .

THIS Lodsre held its Installation meeting on Wednesday , the 5 th of May , at . the Fox and Hounds , Putney . There were present Bros . Whitley P . M . W . M ., Pardoe S . W ., " Collick J . W . y Robinson P . M . Secretary , Watkins Treasurer , Williams S . D ., Strong J . D ., Codings P . M . D . C , Stacey P . M . Organist , Wing acting I . G ., Walkley Tyler , Boehr P . M . Visitors—Pardoe , Gryce , Smeed , Game ,

Jonseffe , Turner , Foan , Williams , Nightingale , Dunlop , Botibol , Cox , Wilkinson , and Heath . The business comprised the reading and confirmation of the miuutes . Brother Stephens was raised . Bro . Pardoe was then installed as W . M . ; tho ceremony being ably conducted by Brother Whitley and a Board of nine Installed Masters .

The newly appointed W . M . invested tho following as Officers for the year . —Whitley I . P . M ., Collick S . W ., Williams J . W ., Watkins Treas ., Robinson P . M . Secretary , Strong S . D ., Wing J . D ., Collings P . M . D . C , Stacey P . M . Organist , Blunderfield S ., Walkley P . M . Tyler . A ballot was next taken for Mr . William Windsor , who was duly

initiated . The report of the Andit Committee was presented and confirmed . Hearty good wishes having been given , Lodge was closed in due form . At the banquet , which subsequently followed , the I . P . M ., Brother Whitley , was presented with the Lodge jewel ,

and later on the Secretary , Brother Robinson , was presented with a gold watch , subscribed for by the brethren aa a mark of esteem . The usual Masonic toasts were given and in due course a very pleasant afternoon and evening was brought to a close .

THE members of this Lodge celebrated their installation on Tuesday , the 12 th instant , at the Cafe Royal , Regent-street , W . The Lodge was opened by Bro . Isaac Qtiincey W . M ., who was supported by Henry W . Casp ° rd S . W ., R . A . Kingsbury J . W ., M . D . Loewenstark P . M . Treas ., Baron D . Barnett P . M . Sec , C . Ochse P . M ., W . T . Lover P . M ., W . H . G . Rudderforth P . M ., B . Field S . D .,

John S . Miller J . D ., S . Lancaster D . C , and Isaac Levy Steward . The minutes of the last regular meeting , and of a Lodge of emergency having been confirmed , Lodge was advanced and Bro . Godard was examined , entrusted and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason . Bro . Casperd was next presented , as W . M . elect , for the

benefit of installation , and m due course was placed in the chair of K . S ., Bro . Lover P . M . performing the ceremony in a most gratifying manner . The new W . M . having been saluted appointed the following as his Officers for the year : —Qnincey I . P . M ., Kingsbury S . W ., B . Fnld J . W ., Loewenstark P . M . Treas ., Barnett P . M . Sec , Miller

A vote of thanks to the installing Master having been proposed and unanimously carried , the Lodge was closed and the brethren adjourned to the banquet , which was presided over by the new W . M . At the conclusion of the repast and after

grace the customary toasts were honoured . Speaking of Her Majesty the Queen , the W . M . referred to the kindly sympathy and interest shown by Her Majesty iu all that concerned the welfare of her subjects . The longer she lived the more she showed her womanly sympathy , whether it was towards her soldiers , the upper classes , or the peasantry her sympathies were drawn , the same feelinga were

THIS Lodsre held its Installation meeting on Wednesday , the 5 th of May , at . the Fox and Hounds , Putney . There were present Bros . Whitley P . M . W . M ., Pardoe S . W ., " Collick J . W . y Robinson P . M . Secretary , Watkins Treasurer , Williams S . D ., Strong J . D ., Codings P . M . D . C , Stacey P . M . Organist , Wing acting I . G ., Walkley Tyler , Boehr P . M . Visitors—Pardoe , Gryce , Smeed , Game ,

Jonseffe , Turner , Foan , Williams , Nightingale , Dunlop , Botibol , Cox , Wilkinson , and Heath . The business comprised the reading and confirmation of the miuutes . Brother Stephens was raised . Bro . Pardoe was then installed as W . M . ; tho ceremony being ably conducted by Brother Whitley and a Board of nine Installed Masters .

The newly appointed W . M . invested tho following as Officers for the year . —Whitley I . P . M ., Collick S . W ., Williams J . W ., Watkins Treas ., Robinson P . M . Secretary , Strong S . D ., Wing J . D ., Collings P . M . D . C , Stacey P . M . Organist , Blunderfield S ., Walkley P . M . Tyler . A ballot was next taken for Mr . William Windsor , who was duly

initiated . The report of the Andit Committee was presented and confirmed . Hearty good wishes having been given , Lodge was closed in due form . At the banquet , which subsequently followed , the I . P . M ., Brother Whitley , was presented with the Lodge jewel ,

and later on the Secretary , Brother Robinson , was presented with a gold watch , subscribed for by the brethren aa a mark of esteem . The usual Masonic toasts were given and in due course a very pleasant afternoon and evening was brought to a close .

John S . Miller J . D ., S . Lancaster D . C , and Isaac Levy Steward . The minutes of the last regular meeting , and of a Lodge of emergency having been confirmed , Lodge was advanced and Bro . Godard was examined , entrusted and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason . Bro . Casperd was next presented , as W . M . elect , for the

benefit of installation , and m due course was placed in the chair of K . S ., Bro . Lover P . M . performing the ceremony in a most gratifying manner . The new W . grace the customary toasts were honoured . Speaking of Her Majesty the Queen , the W . M . referred to the kindly sympathy and interest shown by Her Majesty iu all that concerned the welfare of her subjects .
