NEALE was > , on the 7 th inst ., at the Masonio Temple , Hope Street , Liverpool , installed as Worshipful Master of I he Mariners' Lodge , No . 2-19 , which wns established in tho year 1783 , and tho record of which is a highly satisfactory one . The W . M . elect wns presented for the benefit of installation by Past Masters R . G . Bradley and Prederiok Barnett , and the coremony of

installation was most efficiently performed by the retiring W . M . Bro . Shaoklady , to whom a special vote of thanks was accorded and entered upon the minutes of the Lodge . In all there were nearly 180 brethren present in Lodge and at the installation banquet which followed , and which was served nnder the direction of Bro . Casey

the House Steward . During the proceedings a P . M . ' s jewel was presented to Bro . Shaoklady together with an illuminated address , and a gold watch and chain for Mrs . Shaoklady . FAITH AND UNANIMITY LODGE , No . 417

A NUMBER of the brethren of this Lodge had a delightful pic-nic , on Thursday , the 30 th ult . They drove throngh West Stafford and Woodsford to Blindon Abbey ( visiting the ruins ) , and thence to Arish Mills , where lunoheon was partaken of in true pic-nic style . Subsequently some rowed to West Lnlworth , while others

enjoyed a pleasant breezy walk over the cliffs to the same pretty rendezvous , where all sat down together to a lobster tea admirabl y catered for by Mrs . Butt . The return journey proved very enjoyable , and the excursion throughout was most successful .

S . The W . M . was assisted in the installation ceremony by Bros . Dr . Barrow and J . B . Waring , who duly proclaimed the newly . installed W . M ., and Bro . J . T . Thorp , who gave the addresses to the W . M ., Wardens , and

Brethren . The W . M . then proceeded to invest his Officers , as follow : —Bros . W . J . Curtis I . P . M ., T . B . Neale S . W ., F . G . Pierpoint J . W ., Rev . R . W . Lancaster Chaplain , G . presented a Past Master's jewel to tho retiring W . M ., who acknowledged the gift ia feeling terms . The Treasurer ' s and Stewards' reports were received and passed . The former showed the Lodge to be in a satisfactory financial condition , due in a great measure to the energy displayed in the duties of his important office by the worthy Treasurer , Bro . G . Newsome . Several items of

routine business were quickly despatched , and a letter of condolenoe was ordered to be sent by the Seoretary to the relatives of a worthy departed brother and an old member of the Lodge . Three candidates were proposed for initiation , and a very large number of letters of apology ( including one from Bro . W . Kelly P . M . P . P . G . M ., the father of the Lodge ) was read . Hearty good wishes were tendered from Provincial Grand Lodge and Lodges Nos . 39 , 279 , " 442 , 455 ,

1007 , 1146 , 1265 , 1330 , 1333 , 1391 , 1779 , 1828 , 2028 , and 2081 , after whioh the Lodge was closed . At the customary banquet whioh followed the W . M . presided , and after full justice had been done to the good things provided , he gave the usual loyal and Masonio toasts , whioh were heartily received by the brethren present . To the health of the W . M . and Prosperity to the John of Gaunt Lodge , proposed by the Immediate Past Master ., the Worshipful Master responded in suitable terms . H . Cooke a Fast Master of the Lodge .

The installation banquet , provided by Bro . Jamea Casey , waa done full justice to by the brethren , after which a very pleasant musioal evening was spent . During the evening a handsome Past Master ' s jewel was presented to the rotiring Master by the W . M . Telegrams were received from Bros . Colonel C . A . Whitney P . M ., T . Lowton P . M ., and Dr . Powell , apologising for their inability to attend .

meeting were read and confirmed . Although the name of a candidate appeared on the summons for passing it was understood he would not be present , and , by arrangement , Bro . Treahy of the Truth Lodge , No . 1458 , who was initiated at the last meeting of that Lodge , was passed to the second degree by Bro . Fred Hilton W . M . of the Truth Lodge . The cause for this arrangement was the

imminent departure of Bro . Treahy to hia home at Toronto . The W . M . of the Wilton Lodge ( in which Bro . Fred Hilton was installed ) kindly allowed him to perform the ceremony of passing , and it is needless to say that Bro . Hilton did so in that creditable manner for which he is famed . There being no further business the Lodge was dosed until the first Monday in Ootober . At the social board the health of Bro . Treahy was proposed by the W . M . and heartily

drank . Bro . Treahy replied in appropriate terms . The toast of the Visitors was , as usual in this Lodge , enthusiastically received , and , in reply , Bro . Worsley , as one of the guests , eulogised the manner in whioh the ceremony had been performed , and also spoke of the keen interest Bro . Treaby took in the ceremony and the previous one , anticipating him beooming a useful and zealous member of the Craft .

MARWOOD LODGE , No . 1244

THE annual festival of this Lodge was held on the 5 th inst ., at Redcar , when Bro . John Lambert was installed W . M . for the ensuing year , the ceremony of installation being performed by the Hon . W . T . Orde-Powlett Depaty Provincial Grand Master of North and East Yorks . The W . ON Tuesday , 5 th instant , tho Festival of St . John waa held , when Bro . Brunyee was metalled Worahipfnl Master . The Installing Master was Bro . Behrendt . He was assisted by Bros . Langbridge , Stainforth , and Constable . After the installation Bro . Brnnyee invested hia Officers for the ensning year : —BroB . Behrent I . P . M ., Fox S . W ., Faulkner J . In the course of the ceremony Bro . Webb rendered delightfully the anthem , " Be thou faithful . " After the business of the Lodge , the brethren

adjourned to the Darby and Joan , where Bro . Cundall had provided a banquet . There waa the usual toast list , Royal and Masonic , and each item was interspersed with harmony . There were numerous visitors , among them being Bros . Pape , Kingdon , Webb , Langbridge , Hemingbrougb , Newsnm , Martin , Pawson , and Fisher Tasker . The

The Lodge was opened at six o ' clock , and the minutes of the previons

meeting were read and confirmed . Although the name of a candidate appeared on the summons for passing it was understood he would not be present , and , by arrangement , Bro . Treahy of the Truth Lodge , No . 1458 , who was initiated at the last meeting of that Lodge , was passed to the second degree by Bro . Fred Hilton W . M . of the Truth Lodge . The cause for this arrangement was the

imminent departure of Bro . Treahy to hia home at Toronto . The W . M . of the Wilton Lodge ( in which Bro . Fred Hilton was installed ) kindly allowed him to perform the ceremony of passing , and it is needless to say that Bro . Hilton did so in that creditable manner for which he is famed . There being no further business the Lodge was dosed until the first Monday in Ootober . At the social board the health of Bro . Treahy was proposed by the W . M . and heartily

drank . Bro . Treahy replied in appropriate terms . The toast of the Visitors was , as usual in this Lodge , enthusiastically received , and , in reply , Bro . Worsley , as one of the guests , eulogised the manner in whioh the ceremony had been performed , and also spoke of the keen interest Bro . Treaby took in the ceremony and the previous one , anticipating him beooming a useful and zealous member of the Craft .

MARWOOD LODGE , No . 1244

THE annual festival of this Lodge was held on the 5 th inst ., at Redcar , when Bro . John Lambert was installed W . M . for the ensuing year , the ceremony of installation being performed by the Hon . W . T . Orde-Powlett Depaty Provincial Grand Master of North and East Yorks . The W . M . afterwards invested his Officers , as follow : —Bros . John Harrison I . P . M ., J . Hornsby S . W ., J . Jones

ISLE OF AXHOLMB LODGE , No . 1482

ON Tuesday , 5 th instant , tho Festival of St . John waa held , when Bro . Brunyee was metalled Worahipfnl Master . The Installing Master was Bro . Behrendt . He was assisted by Bros . Langbridge , Stainforth , and Constable . After the installation Bro . Brnnyee invested hia Officers for the ensning year : —BroB . Behrent I . P . M ., Fox S . W ., Faulkner J . Burtenshaw S . D . and Organist , Pickering J . D ., Chamberlain D . C , Staniforth Charity Steward and Almoner , Turner Standard Bearer , Soholey I . G ., Wressell , Oates , and Franks Stewards . In the course of the ceremony Bro . Webb rendered delightfully the anthem , " Be thou faithful . " After the business of the Lodge , the brethren

adjourned to the Darby and Joan , where Bro . Cundall had provided a banquet . There waa the usual toast list , Royal and Masonic , and each item was interspersed with harmony . There were numerous visitors , among them being Bros . Pape , Kingdon , Webb , Langbridge , Hemingbrougb , Newsnm , Martin , Pawson , and Fisher Tasker . The
