Long a very handsome Past Master's jewel , at the same time complimenting him upon the manner in which he had carried out the duties of Worshipful Master during the past year . Permission was asked and obtained for a Lodge of Instruction to be formed in connection with the Lodge , to be held at the Royal Forest Hotel , Chingford .
The Lodge was then closed , and the Brethren adjourned to the Banqueting Hall , where an excellent repast was served . The usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed by the W . The remaining toasts were the Treasurer and Secretary ; the Visitors , responded to by Bro . Gower , Wm . Hayman Cummings and the other Visitors present ; the Past Masters ; the Officers of the Lodge . Bro . Cummings , in the course of his remarks , congratulated the W . M . and the Lodge on having the services of Bro . Latter as Organist , as he felt how much the solemnity of our grand ritual was added to by efficient music . He paid a high compliment to Bro . Latter , whom he had known for many years as a thorough musician and a painstaking and successful teacher .
The Tylers toast brought a most successful and enjoyable meeting to a close . The musical arrangements were under the able care of Bro . W . Latter , R . A . M ., P . Prov . GO . Essex Organist of the Lodge , and an excellent programme was most efficiently carried out . Special commendation should
be given to the singing of the Misses Latter and Miss Ethel Harrison , and also to the violin solo by Bro . Victor Medcalf . The artistes who supported Bro . Latter during the evening were Bros . Harry Round P . M . P . G . S . Not only was there a full attendance of the members of the Lodge , but a very large number of visitors .
Subsequently the arrangements for the conduct of the Lodge during the next year were entered into , and it was mentioned that this was the 21 st anniversary of the Lodge . With regard to the Dramatic Lodge and its Officers , it should be stated that Bro . H . Round jun . should have been
promoted from the Senior Warden's chair to the Mastership , but in deference to representations made to him and to feelings he held with regard to tho matter , he preferred to see his esteemed father in possession of the chair , especially considering the fact that Provincial honours might be conferred upon him during his term of office , says the " Liverpool Courier . "
DE LA POLE LODGE , No . 1605 . rpiHE installation of Worshipful Master took place at the Masonic Hall , J _ Kingston Square , Hull , on Monday , 4 th inst ., when the retiring Master Bro . Edward Ryley was in the chair , supported by the Worshipful Master-elect Bro . J . Barton and a large number of Officers and Brethren , as well as a large and representative number of visitors .
The installation ceremony was most impressively rendered by Bros . Wilson and Corris , at the close of which the new Master invested bis Officers for the ensuing year . Bro . Tindell then , in a very eulogistic speech , presented the retiring

honour to the Master-elect Bro . Issac Lowery , of Hoylake . Bro . Peter Tough conducted the installation ceremony , and Bro . Issac Lowery , having been duly chaired , invested his Officers .
Subsequently a sumptuous banquet was served by Mr . Walter Holmes , of the Metropole , to which full justice was done , after which the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were submitted .
During the evening a beautiful Past Master ' s jewel was presented to Bro . Peter M . Tough , and a diamond ring was also given to him for Mrs . Tough , in appreciation of the excellent services he has rendered .

There were a number of visiting Brethren present from Chester , Flint , Connah ' s Quay , and other places . An excellent repast was afterwards provided at the Black Lion Hotel .
