The next toast was that of the Past Masters , which was coupled with the names of Bro . Lowry , Bladon , Cox , Foot , Cattermole , Culver ( Treas . ) , Dewsnap ( Sec ) , and others . The next toast was that of the Officers of the Lodge , which was duly acknowledged .

Shortly afterwards the Tyler's toast brought the proceedings and a very pleasant evening to a termination . An excellent programme of music was arranged by Bro . Walter Perrins , ¦ who was assisted by Miss Marie Kehrein , Bro . H . Oribb , Bro . W . A . Hamilton , Bro . Horace Ward , and Bro . Holden Walker , with Bro . J . Brittan at the piano .

Shepherd , Lazarus , and Westbury were raised to the sublime degree m Bro . Turner's masterly and efficient manner , and the installation and investiture of Officers , the balloting and initiation of new and joining members , and the report of the Audit Committee brought a long evening ' s business to a conclusion .

The Brethren afterwards adjourned to a well-served banquet , where the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured .

ST . LEONARD LODGE , No . 1766 . THE first monthly meeting after the vacation of the above Lodge was held at the Great Eastern Hotel , Liverpool Street , on Wednesday . MARQUESS OF RIPON LODGE , No . 1489 . THIS Lodge , which was named after the late Grand Master , and consecrated in the year that he resigned that high office , held its annual installation meeting on Friday , at the Holborn Restaurant , under the presidency of Bro . R . W . Huntley Worshipful Master . After the opening formalities the W . M . installed his brother , Bro . Horace A . Huntley as Master of the Lodge for the year ensuing , on the presentation of Bro . Edwin George P . M . Secretary , who during the remainder of the ceremony acted as Director of Ceremonies .

Bro . Richard W . Huntley was invested as Immediate Past Master , and the other Brethren appointed as Officers of the Lodge were : —Bros . Thomas V . Mills Senior Warden , F . A . After his investment as Treasurer , a ceremony which was accompanied by some very flattering remarks by the W . M ., Bro . Walford said that for the last twenty-one or twenty-two years he had been honoured by being elected to that position , and had enjoyed the confidence of the Brethren of the Lodge . He was gratified in hearing the W . M . express the hope that the Brethren would have him as Treasurer for many years to come , but he could not help

feeling that years were growing upon him , although he fully adopted the kind wish of the W . M . Nevertheless , as long as he was spared in health and strength to discharge the duties of Treasurer aright it would give him pleasure to serve the Brethren . After the investitures had taken place , the outgoing Master Bro . R . W . Huntley was presented by the W . M ., in the name of the Lodge , with a handsome jewel of a P . the second time such a compliment had been paid to a Past Master since the Lodge had been formed . Bro . R . W . Huntley , in acknowledging the gift , said that such a present from the Lodge was a testimony to him that he had achieved the desire which he formed when he was initiated into the Lodge—that he might

perform all the duties of Freemasonry properly , learn the work of all the Officers of the Lodge , attain to the chair of the W . M , and in that high and honourable position acquit himself to the satisfaction of the Brethren . It was exceedingly pleasing to him to have such a recognition as he now possessed of his efforts , and he assured the Brethren that he should prize it highly .

The Brethren unanimously passed a voto of thanks to Bro . Huntley I . P . M . for his admirable performance of the ceremony of installation , the vote being proposed by Bro . Deputy Walford , and seconded by Bro . Charles H . Fisher . The Brethren afterwards passed the balance-sheet , which was highly favourable , and then closed the Lodge , subsequently partaking of an elegant banquet .

The usual toasts followed , says the " City Press , " and under the direction of Bro . John Brittan Organist the toasts were interspersed with some excellent vocal music . In proposing the health of the W . M ., Bro . Richard W . Huntley I . P . M . said he stood in the unique position of proposing the health of the W . M . and

of his own brother at the same time . He felt so proud that words almost failed to come to his lips to express the pleasure he had in doing so . However , he believed the Brethren would find in his brother everything they expected from him , and at the end of his year of office they would be able to say " Well done " once more .

Bro . Horace A . Huntley W . M ., in reply , said he had that night attained the biggest ambition of his life . He trusted he should give the Brethren satisfaction during the year . For 23 years the Lodge had been held in great respect . He took the Lodge ' s Mastership without a stain upon it , and he hoped he would go out of office leaving the Lodge with the same respect , brotherly feeling , and good heartiness . Whatever could be done for the benefit of the Lodge , of the charities , or of any Brother , he promised he would do it with a good heart and good intentions .

The W . M . afterwards proposed the health of the I . P . M . and passed a high eulogium on his brother ' s Mastership , pointing out that he had had thirteen initiates , a record in the Lodge , and had taken up 157 guineas to the Royal Masonic Institution . KENNINGTON LODGE , No . 1381 . THE members met at the Horns , Kennington , on Tuesday , 5 th inst ., Bro . Barry W . M . Having opened the Lodge the W . M ., who was in bad health , vacated the chair in favour of Bro . Westloy P . M ., who proceeded to raise Bro . W . C . Fowler and initiate Mr . W . H . Robinson and Mr . C . J . Mold . A very pleasant evening was afterwards spent , Bro . Waller A . D . C . having charge of the musical arrangements .

ROYAL JUBILEE LODGE , No . 72 . THE first meeting of thU Lodge for the season took place at Anderton's Hotel , on Monday , 4 th inst ., Bro . W . Smith W . M . The first business was to raise Bros . M ., who at once proceeded to pass Bro . Christopher Berry . The next business was to initiate Mr . C . H . S . Miles , the ritual being efficiently

rendered by the W . M . The remaining business was then transacted . The W . M . announced that he would go up as Steward for the Boys School next year , and asked the Brethren in this eventful year to vote more than the customary ten guineas , in which case he would double the sum given by the Lodge . The W . M . also announced that he would move at the November meeting that the December banquet be a ladies' night . At the conclusion of the dinner , which followed a full afternoon's business , the usual toasts were honoured .
