Mulvey , in his usual eloquent manner , proposed that a hearty vote of thanks be recorded on the minutes in favour of Bro . W . Baddeley , for the excellent and most perfect manner in which he had rehearsed the ceremonies for the first time .

PROVINCIAL .

TRINITY LODGE , No . 2595 . AT the Lodge room , Buckfastleigh , on Tuesday , 5 th inst ,, Bro . H . S . Johnson was installed W . M . for the ensuing year , the installation ceremony being ably performed by Bro . James Willcocks .

ECCLESBURNE LODGE , No . 2425 . THE fifth anniversary of tho Lodge was celebrated at Duffield , on Monday , 20 th ult ., and was largely attended by members of the Craft from all parts of the county . Since its consecration the Lodge has had an exceedingly prosperous career , having not only largely increased its membership , but having distinguished itself by the zeal with which it has practised and maintained the principles of the Order . The Lodge was opened at 5 o ' clock at the Boys Schoolroom by Bro . John Walker W . M . P . M . 731 P . P . G . D .

The Worshipful Master-elect was Bro . W . B . A . Tempest , and the ceremony of installing him in the chair was ably performed by the retiring W . M ., the subsequent charges being impressively given by Bro . Hoskyns P . M . and Shoobert P . M . The Lodge having beon closed , the Brethren adjourned to the White Hart Hotel , where the banquet was served . The Worshipful Master waB supported by a large gathering , and subsequently the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured .

The health of the W . M . was proposed by Bro . Allen S . W ., who referred to the fact that Bro . Tempest was the first child of the Lodge who had been elected to the chair . The toast was warmly received , and was acknowledged in heartfelt terms by Bro . Tempest .

BARRY LODGE , No . 2357 . THE installation of Bro . F . P . Jones-Lloyd as Worshipful Master took place on Tuesday , 12 th inst ., at the Masonic Rooms , Royal Hotel , Cadoxton-Barry , and was a highly successful affair , the new W . M . being very popular . The Installing Master was Bro . T . Higman . A banquet was held after the ceremony .

BISLEY LODGE , No . 2317 . ON Thursday , 7 th inst ., an important and interesting gathering was held under the presidency of Bro . Capt . J . Hoey W . M . The Secretary Bro . J . B . S . Lancaster read a letter from Bro . Askbam , expressing his inability to attend for his installation as Master on account of serious illness . This communication was received with much regret , and it became necessary to elect a Brother to fill the vacant position . Bro . W . A . Shaw was thereupon chosen in place of Bro . Askham , and his installation will take place at the November meeting .

The Auditors' report was received and adopted , there being a satisfactory balance in hand . At the last meeting the usual Past Master ' s jewel was appointed to be presented to the W . M ., but he expressed a wish that the money granted for this purpose should be expended in securing votes for one or other of the charitable institutions in perpetuity .

On the motion of Bro . Littleboy , it was resolved , in accordance with the Committee ' s recommendation , that five guineas be added to the amount usually spent for the jewel , and that votes in perpetuity be bought as suggested , the necessary sum to be drawn from the Benevolent Fund . It was further resolved that the Lodge enter upon its minutes a vote of thanks to Captain Hoey , in recognition of his generous action .

A pleasing incident was afforded by the presentation of regalia to Bro . W . H . Littleboy , in commemoration of his being the first initiate of the Lodge . The Worshipful Master , in a few appropriate words , made the presentation on behalf of the Brethren .

LONDONDERRY LODGE , No . 2039 . THE annual meeting was held at the Masonic Hall , Park Terrace , Sunderland , on Monday , 4 th inst . There was a large attendance of Officers and Brethren , and the Lodge was honoured with the presence of the Provincial Grand Master , who presided over part of the proceedings , and expressed his satisfaction with the Lodge . The W . M . Bro . Thomas E . Campbell officiated as Installing Master , and in a very able manner installed his successor Bro . Thomas Naisbett S . W .

After the installation the Provincial Grand Master , before leaving , congratulated the newly installed Brother on being Master in so excellent a Lodge , and having such excellent Officers . After the close of the Lodge the W . M . and Mrs . Thomas Naisbett received their guests , the annual festival being celebrated with a high tea and entertainment .

BURRELL LODGE , No . 1829 . rriHE annual installation meeting was held at the Royal Pavilion , I Brighton , on the 7 th inst ., when the Lodge was opened by Bro . T . B . Colbran W . M . The chief business was the installation of Bro . John Olliver , the

ceremony being ably performed by the W . M . Bro . T . B . Colbran , who was afterwards presented , on behalf of the Lodge , with a Past Master ' s gold jewel , in appreciation of the admirable manner in which he had carried out his duties . He was also presented , on behalf of the Initiates of the year , with a Jubilee medal .

On the closing of the Lodge the Brethren adjourned to the banqueting room , where they sat down to an elegant banquet under the presidency of the newly-installed W . M . The I . P . M ., in submitting the Worshipful Master , said the large assemblage of members and visitors who had met to do honour to the W . M .

proved that the toast was one which highly commended itself to all present . All the Brethren knew full well how earnestly and zealously Bro . Olliver had carried out all the duties of the various offices conferred upon him , and they had every confidence in electing him their W . M . He heartily wished him a successful and happy year . After the installation the Provincial Grand Master , before leaving , congratulated the newly installed Brother on being Master in so excellent a Lodge , and having such excellent Officers . After the close of the Lodge the W . M . and Mrs . Thomas Naisbett received their guests , the annual festival being celebrated with a high tea and entertainment .

BURRELL LODGE , No . 1829 . rriHE annual installation meeting was held at the Royal Pavilion , I Brighton , on the 7 th inst ., when the Lodge was opened by Bro . T . B . Colbran W . M . The chief business was the installation of Bro . John Olliver , the

ceremony being ably performed by the W . M . Bro . T . B . Colbran , who was afterwards presented , on behalf of the Lodge , with a Past Master ' s gold jewel , in appreciation of the admirable manner in which he had carried out his duties . He was also presented , on behalf of the Initiates of the year , with a Jubilee medal .

On the closing of the Lodge the Brethren adjourned to the banqueting room , where they sat down to an elegant banquet under the presidency of the newly-installed W . M . The I . P . M ., in submitting the Worshipful Master , said the large assemblage of members and visitors who had met to do honour to the W . M .

proved that the toast was one which highly commended itself to all present . All the Brethren knew full well how earnestly and zealously Bro . Olliver had carried out all the duties of the various offices conferred upon him , and they had every confidence in electing him their W . M . He heartily wished him a successful and happy year .
