WEST LANCASHIRE CHARITY .

ON Friday evening , gth inst ., at the Masonic Hall , Hope Street , Liverpool , meetings were held of the various Committees charged with the arrangements for the forthcoming Festival and Ball in aid of the funds of the West Lancashire Masonic Educational Institution , which has done

so much for the education , maintenance , and advancement in life of the children of deceased Freemasons . Bro . W . B . Sweetman P . P . G . D . presided over a meeting of the General Committee in the absence , through illness , of the chairman Bro . Smithson P . P . S . G . W . ; who sent a telegram of apology for non-attendance .

The Honorary Secretary Bro . A . Shawfield reported that he had already received the names of no patrons , and nearly ioo Stewards for the ball , which takes place on the 18 th January next , at St . George ' s Hall , in consequence of the Town Hall being still in the hands of the painters and decorators .

On the recommendation of the Refreshment Committee it was " resolved to entrust the catering to Bro . W . J . Holmes , Church Street , and in conformity with the recommendation of the Music Committee Bro . G . Eyton was commissioned to SUDDIV the band , as in orevious vears .

Bros . G . Harradon P . P . G . D ., and E . R . Latham Prov . G . Treasurer , were again appointed the Masters of Ceremonies . The Festival and Bali will be held under the Craft banner of the Skelmersdale Lodee , No . i- ^ So * . the Arr-. h an snipes nf

the Chapter of Friendship , No . 241 ; and the banner of the West Lancashire Mark Lodge , No . 68 , permission being obtained in the meantime for the Masonic visitors to wear the clothing and insignia of the various Orders to which they belong .
