He was a Life Governor of the Boys' School , and a Subscriber to all the Masonic Charities , and was , at all times , a hard worker in Masonry . He was for many years , and at the time of his death , a member of the Reporting Staff of tbe Press Association , and in tbat capacity was well know to all Journalists in the United Kingdom . JOHN YARKER , of Manchester , England , has written a JL T JL long letter to fche editor of the Lexington ( Kentucky ) Transcript—which is pnblished in thafc journal , after the manner of Cerneauism—in which , taking the action of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky in regard to thafc Masonio nuisance as his text , he lets loose a large number of opinions , one of which may serve for a fair sample < f the whole . Speaking of the action of tho Grand Orient of
France , in consequence of which all the English-speaking Grand Lodges have severed their relations with ifc , he flippantly says : " As a matter of facfc , the Grand Orient simply says : * We do not wish to enter in any way into your religious opinions . We neither force upon you a Creative Power , Daism or Trinitarianism . ' What better is any Mason for having declared afc his initiation tbat bo
believes in God ? The connection abont ifc is little better than idiotic twaddle , for every sane man believes either in God or a Creative Power . I shonld like to see any Grand Lodgo able to define tho unknowable . Masons , as a rule , are a very contemptible way from fche Infinite . Masons think very little , ifc seems to me , of any sort of God , and when they once declare their belief in the Almighty , they have done with it . They are neither better nor worse than mankind
