The annual ball of bhe Devon Lodge , No . 1138 , took place at Newton Abbot on Thursday , 9 th inst ., and was a great success . The company numbered about fifty .

The Castle Lodge , No . 1621 , held a Masonic ball in the Agricultural Hall , Bridgnorth , on the 9 th inst ., in aid of the Eoyal Masonic Benevolent Institution , when a large number of Brethren and ladies were present .

On Thurday , 9 th inst ., at the Assembly Eooms , Westgate Eoad , Newcastle , the eighth annual Masonic ball took place under the banners of the Walker , St . Peter , St . Nicholas , Northern Counties , Prince of Wales , and Newcastle Lodges . This social

function in connection with the Craft has always been successful since its inception , but it had never . before assumed the proportions or attained the immense success which marked the gathering this year . So great was the demand for tickets that many had to be refused , and the number present was 184 couples .
