Fowler thanked the Brethren for the honour they had couferred in electing him . During the whole time he had been a member of the Lodge ( which was since its formation ) he had endeavoured to perform tho
duties of the various offices he had held , and he hoped to maintain the high position the Lodgo had in the Province . Bro . Jervis P . M . having passed Bro . Milne , opened tho Lodgo in the Third degree , and vacated tho chair to Bro . T . Watson , W . M . 1050 , who raised Bros . Phillips and Lockett to tho sublime degrco . The Chair was then resumed by Bro . Jervis , and after a Banquet Committee had been appointed , tho Lodge was duly closed .

Bro . Hurst , who was installed a few weeks ago , made his ddbut in tho chair of K . S ., supported by the following officers : —Bros . E . Hopwood P . M . 141 and 1512 , I . P . M .

Julius Schmitz into tho mysteries of Freemasonry . We
congratulate him on his success , evidently no pains had been spared to qualify for the proper discharge of tho duties of his office . We wish we could say as much on behalf of all W . M . ' s on their first appearance Two brothers , whose names were on the summons for passing , not being in attendance , the Lodge was opened in the 2 nd degree , and Bros . C . H . Hill M . D ., T . Errington , C .
Finch , and H . C . T . Murphy , having duly passed the necessary examination , saluted and retired in the accustomed form . Lodgo being opened in the 3 rd degree , the W . M . vacated the chair in favour of Bro . Hopwood I . P . M ., who , on the re-admission of the candidates aforenamed , raised them to the sublime degree of Master Masons . Bros . Wilson P . M ., Etonian , 209 , and
Maynard , Prospect , 24 , were among the visitors . Members present —Bros . P . M . 's Bernard , Sharp , Moody , Aston , Andrews , Day , Wheeler , Knowles , Doctor Hill , Murphy , Finch and Errington . A letter of apology was received by the W . M . from Bro . Ockenden I . G ., who has hitherto never missed a meeting , but who was compelled to absent himself on this occasion through indisposition . Tho business of the evening being concluded , the Lodge was closed , and the
brethren separated in perfect harmony , to discuss an ample repast , carefully and efficiently catered for by the host , Bro . Murphy , On the removal of the cloth , the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured . The W . M ., Bros . Walls , W . Hammond , Jessett and the initiate contributed to the harmony of the occasion , and the Tyler's toast brought a very pleasant evening to an end . The Lodge will not assemble in December . The next meeting will he held on Thursday , 18 th January 1877 .

S ., and the rest of tho officers wore present . The agenda paper presentod a most formidable appearance , containing as it did tho names of four gentlemen to be balloted for as candidates for
initiation , one as a joining member , two initiations , one passing , and two raisings . The ballot proved successful in each case , Messrs . A . Dove and J . W . Craven wero initiated , and Bros . Blenkin and Morgan wero raised . On tho motion of tho S . W ., who remarked on the great importance , at the present day , of the maintenanco of a high-class
Masonic press , the Lodge resolved to subscribe annually to tho FREE MASON ' CHKONICI . E . There was a large muster of tho brethren , and several visitors attended from the York Lodge , 236 , and from Batley , Leeds , and other places . Preliminary steps were taken with a view to hold a banquet before the close of the year .
