ROYAL ARCH MASONRY IN MAINE

THE Report of the Fit'ty-soventh Annual Convocation of the Grand Chapter of Main has been received , and an examination of it shows much of interest and of satisfaction . Tho Grand High Priest said , in his address , " 1 do nofc think there has ever been a time iu tho history of Capitular Masonry in this Slate when tho Companions of the several Chapters wero more

closely allied together than tho present . " Ho also said , during his remarks , that though thero woro sixty moro exaltations this yeai than last , tho present membership is not as largo . This he attributes to neglect in paying dues , and the consequent purg ing of Chapter rolls of membership , but notwithstanding this , he considers

Koyal Arch Masonry stronger in tho State than over before . Tlie Graud Treasurer's Report shows the yearly income to have been 1 , 580 01 dols ., and a balance on baud , after paying expenses of 7 M * 79 dols . Tho Charity Fund amounts to -J . , 302-00 well invested .

The Report on Foreign Correspondence appears in the body of the Proceedings , and not as an Appendix . It is a review of the proceedings of thirty-seven Grand Chapters , by Companion Josiah IL Drummond , aud is iu keeping with the familiar qualities of this ardent correspondent . A liberal part of this report is taken up with a discussion of the question of nonpayment of dues , as regulated by the Graud Lodge
