NOTICES OF MEETINGS .

PALLAD 1 AN LODGE , No . 120 .

TpHE members held their last Lodgo of this session ou Tuesday 1 1 st inst ., at the Green Dragon Hotel , Herefcrd , under the Mastership of Bro . G . J . Caldwell . In tho course of the proceedings , Bro . T . Smith P . G . S . W . delivered a Masonic lestnre , for which he received a vote of thanks . Ou the Lodge being closed , about two dozen of the brethren stayed to supper , at whioh they honoured the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts .

PERSEVERANCE LODGE , No . 164

AN incident almost unique in the Masonic annala of the Province —the completion by Bro . Wm . Pile ( on whom the Prov . Grand Master has been pleased to confer , as a Jubilee honour , the rank of P . P . G . St . B . ) of a period of 50 years' membership of the Lodge Perseverance , during which time he has filled the various offices , and been most punctual in his attendance—was celebrated at

Sidmou . h , on Wednesday , the 9 th inst ., when this much respected brother was presented with a collar and apron and P . M . jewel , subscribed for by members of the Lodge , who also unveiled his portrait , which now hangs on the walls of the Lodge . The Lodge was opened at 5 p . m ., when there was a large attendance of members and

visitors . Bro . Pile , afc the request of Bro . Berwick , the W . M . of the Lodge , occupied the chair during a portion of the evening , and performed certain portions of the ceremony with great clearness and precision . Bro . J . A . Orchard P . P . G . D . C . read tho minntes of Wednesday , 2 nd May 1838 , the night on which Bro . Pile was

initiated , and after referring to his zeal and punctual attendance throughout the intervening period of 50 years , Bro . Orchard , in the name of the members of the Lodge , presented Bro . Pile with the Provincial Officer ' s collar and apron and Past Master ' s jewel , and

later on iu the evening the W . M . Bro . Berwick unveiled the beautiful enlarged chromo portrait of Bro . Pile . At the conclusion of the business the brethren sat down to an excellent repast , supplied by Bro . H . T . Bolt in his accustomed satisfactory style .

LODGE OF AMITY , No . 171

'PHE members met at Tho Ship , Greenwich , on Tuesday , the - ^ 1 st inst . A ballot was taken for W . M . for the ensuing year , and was declared unanimous in favour of Bro . H . Dipple S . W . Bro . J . Clever P . M . was also nnanimonsly elected as Treasurer . At the

banquet , the W . M . ( Bro . J . Van Essen ) proposed the usual toasts which were duly honoured . The musical arrangements were efficiently cirried out under the direction of the Organist , Bro . Frederick Perkins , R . A . Mus .

TDRO . G . M . Lion W . M . presided over tho regular meeting on Monday , the 7 th instant , at the Freemasons' Tavern , Great Qneen-street . The W . regularly opened and the minutes confirmed . The W . M . proceeded to raise Bro . Ernest Smith . Bro . L . W . Kershaw , of St . Ann ' s Lodge , No . 593 , who is about to proceed to Ceylon , was , by kind permission of the W . M ., also raised to the sublime decree of Master Mason . A ballot was taken to initiate Mr . Paul Francz , of the United

Dramatic Club , 133 Upper-street , Islington . The ceremonies of the day were most ably performed by the W . M . Bro . Wall I . P . M . proposed that the sura of two guineas be subscribed from the Lodge , to form a nucleus to present Bro . Dodson P . M . D . C . with a testimonial for services rendered as D . C . This was seconded and carried

unanimously . After other important business had been disposed of , the Lodge was closed in dne form . Between fifty and sixty brethren sat down to an excellent banquet , served in admirable style nnder the superintendence of Bro . Silver ; the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were eloquently given by the W . M ., and received

with enthusiasm . Bro . Wall proposed tbe health of the VV . M ., which was warmly honoured and replied to . The W . M . next proposed the toasts of the P . M . 's , Officers , and Visitors . Appropriate replies were

made . The health of the Initiate was proposed and suitably responded to . The proceedings were enlivened with a most enjoyable musical programme , under the direction of Bro . Frank Isaacson . The entertainment was thoroughly enjoyed by all present .

ST . GEORGE LODGE . No . 242

THE annual meeting of the brethren was held on Friday , the 4 th inst ., at the Masonic-rooms , Nether Hall Road , Doncaster . The minntes of the last Lodge meeting having been confirmed , and some other business transacted , Bro . G . G . Wilkie , who had been duly elected , was installed into the chair as W . M . for the ensuing year , the ceremony being well aud ably rendered by Bro . F .

Walker , who acted in the capacity of Installing Master . Dnring the proceedings some mnsic was performed by Bro . Pawson , and an anthem was sung in excellent style by Pro . F . Webb . The W . THE installation meeting of this flourishing Lodge was held on Wednesday , the 9 th instant , in the Masonic Hall , Richmond , Surrey . Among the large attendance of visitors present were—Bros . J . The brethren proceeded to the Banquet room in the large hall , and after the removal of the cloth , the usual toasts were given and responded to . The proposal of ' those of the W . M . Bro . Robson and the I . P . M . Bro . Pye being received with enthusiasm

by the Visitors and Brethren of the Lodge . The musical arrangements were carried out by Bro . Charles Townley , of the Savage Club , who rendered the " Song without words" in an effective manner . He was assisted by Bros . Combes , E . E W . Marsden , and Percy Phillips . Miss Thomas presided at tho pianoforte . A very enjoyable evening was spent by all present .

KOYAL GLOUCESTERSHIRE LODGE . No . 839

THE annual installation festival took place on Friday , the 4 th inst ., in the Masonic Hall at the Bell Hotel , Gloucester . Bro . Dr . Needham was installed as W . M . for the year ensuing , the ceremony being performed by the I . P . M . Bro . J . L .

IPHE last meeting of the present session of this spirited Lodge took _ 1 _ place at the Masonic HaU , Reading , on Wednesday , 9 th instant , when there were present Bros . Creed W . M ., Ravenscroft I . P . M ., Slaughter S . W ., Greenaway J . W ., Ridley Secretary , Hukins S . D ., Sparrow J . D ., Pulley P . M . Dir . of Cers ., Sherwin Organist , Brown

I . G ., Smallwood and Stewart Stewards , Hemmings Tyler ; Past Masters Ferguson , Margrett , Blackwell ; Brothers T . C . Margrett , Loam , Treverton , Reed , Hodder , Brown jun ., Long , Biddies , Salmon , Hickie , Silver . Visitors—Houghton 153 , Hawkes W . M . 414 , Scrivener 1490 , Bonny 414 . Lodge was opened and the minntes of the last

regnlar meeting were read and confirmed . The ballot was taken for Mr . Daniel Norton Heron , proposed and seconded as a candidate for initiation at the last regular Lodge , and he was declared to be elected . Bro . Lewis , a candidate for the third degree , having replied to the usual questions in a satisfactory manner , was entrusted , and retired .

Later on the candidate was re-admitted and raised to the sublime degree of M . M ., the ceremony was ably performed by the W . M ., who gave the traditional history and lecture on the tracing board . Bro . Ravenscroft gave the charge . Lodge was closed to the first degree , when Bro . Margrett P . M . proposed the resolution of which he had

given due notice , viz ., that the sum of ten guineas be voted from the funds of this Lodge to tho list of Bro . Creed on the occasion of his Stewardship for the Masonic Institution for Girls afc its Centenary Celebration . Bro . Ferguson seconded , and the motion was carried . A candidate was regularly proposed for initiation at the next meeting .

Tbe labours of the evening being ended , the Lodge was closed according to ancient form , after which fche brethren adjonrned to the Great Western Hotel , whero a recherche supper was provided by Bro . Flanagan P . M . The nsnal Loyal and Masonic toasts were given and responded to , a very agreeable evening being fche result .

THE installation meeting was held at the Fox and Hounds Hotel , Putney , on 2 ud May . Bros . Collings P . M . D . C . in the chair , Williams S . W ., Wing J . W ., Watkins Treasurer , Robinson P . IPHE last meeting of the present session of this spirited Lodge took _ 1 _ place at the Masonic HaU , Reading , on Wednesday , 9 th instant , when there were present Bros . Creed W . M ., Ravenscroft I . P . M ., Slaughter S . W ., Greenaway J . W ., Ridley Secretary , Hukins S . D ., Sparrow J . D ., Pulley P . M . Dir . of Cers ., Sherwin Organist , Brown

I . G ., Smallwood and Stewart Stewards , Hemmings Tyler ; Past Masters Ferguson , Margrett , Blackwell ; Brothers T . C . Margrett , Loam , Treverton , Reed , Hodder , Brown jun ., Long , Biddies , Salmon , Hickie , Silver . Visitors—Houghton 153 , Hawkes W . M . 414 , Scrivener 1490 , Bonny 414 . Lodge was opened and the minntes of the last

regnlar meeting were read and confirmed . The ballot was taken for Mr . Daniel Norton Heron , proposed and seconded as a candidate for initiation at the last regular Lodge , and he was declared to be elected . Bro . Lewis , a candidate for the third degree , having replied to the usual questions in a satisfactory manner , was entrusted , and retired .

Later on the candidate was re-admitted and raised to the sublime degree of M . M ., the ceremony was ably performed by the W . M ., who gave the traditional history and lecture on the tracing board . Bro . Ravenscroft gave the charge . Lodge was closed to the first degree , when Bro . Margrett P . M . proposed the resolution of which he had

given due notice , viz ., that the sum of ten guineas be voted from the funds of this Lodge to tho list of Bro . Creed on the occasion of his Stewardship for the Masonic Institution for Girls afc its Centenary Celebration . Bro . Ferguson seconded , and the motion was carried . A candidate was regularly proposed for initiation at the next meeting .

Tbe labours of the evening being ended , the Lodge was closed according to ancient form , after which fche brethren adjonrned to the Great Western Hotel , whero a recherche supper was provided by Bro . Flanagan P . M . The nsnal Loyal and Masonic toasts were given and responded to , a very agreeable evening being fche result .

THE installation meeting was held at the Fox and Hounds Hotel , Putney , on 2 ud May . Bros . Collings P . M . D . C . in the chair , Williams S . W ., Wing J . W ., Watkins Treasurer , Robinson P . M . Secretary , Harding S . D ., Sandalls J . D ., Oliver I . G ., Coombes Steward , Stacey P . M . Organist , Walkley Tyler ; P . M . 's Pardo , Boehr , A . Mansell , and about thirty-six othor brethren ; also some seventeen

visitors , among whom were Bros . Cause P . P . G . D . Middlesex , Canon Floyd P . G . Chaplain Ireland , the Masters of several Lodges and other distinguished Craftsmen . After Lodge had been opened , and the minutes of the last meeting read and confirmed , Bro . G . A . Knight was raised to the sublime degree of M . M ., in Bro .
