Margate Jubilee Commemoration.

MARGATE JUBILEE COMMEMORATION .

M 1 HE members of the Union lodge , No . 127 , have decided X to inaugurate a Masonic Ball in aid of the Building Fund , of the Masonic Jubilee Commemoration Home , aiid at a meeting of Stewards it was arranged that the same should be held at the Eoyal Assembly Eooms , Margate , on Thursday , 2 nd December . It is earnestly hoped by the W . M . and the Stewards that every

effort will be made b y Brethren to bring the occasion prominentl y before their friends , thus assuring a large attendance and a successful issue to this desirable undertaking . A dispensation has

been applied for to enable the Brethren to appear in Masonic clothing . Tickets , price 8 s 6 d each , which will include li ght refreshments and supper , may be obtained of the Hon . Secretary ( Ball Committee ) , or any of the Stewards .

ALEXANDRA CHAPTER , No . 993 . rpHE annual meeting in connection with this Chapter was held at the _ L Freemasons' Hall , Manchester , on Monday , the 8 th inst ., Comp . E . H . Ehlinger P . Z . Z . The minutes of the last regular meeting having been read and confirmed , the installation of Principals-elect took place , the Installing Principal being Comp . Buckley Carr P . Z . P . P . G . D . C . Comp . VV . H . Anderton was placed in the principal chair ; Comp . George Howe was elevated to H . ; and Comp . Henry Clulow to the position of J .

Comp . Ehlinger has been relegated to the position of Treasurer , while Comp J . E . Ridgway still remains at his old post , that of S . E . At the festive board Loyal and Koyal Arch toasts were submitted and duly honoured . Comp . Ehlinger proposed the health of the Installing Principal , and spoke very highly of his abilities , which we have elsewhere accentuated . Comp . A . Peak P . P . G . D . C . proposed the health of Comp . Anderton , who replied in suitable terms .

Comp . John Marshall P . Z ., & c , responded to the toast of the Visitors , and gave a very interesting sketch of the inception and progress of Freemasonry , which " documentary evidence proved to have existed in very remote ages . Comp . Anderton sang a capital number , his admirable voice showing to great advantage . Other contributors towards the harmony were Comps . Ward , Holme , Jacobson , Chas . Shaw , and Isidore Gotz , a very pleasant evening passing quickly away .
