THE 119 th anniversary and installation meeting of this Lodge took place on Wednesday last , at the Guildhall Tavern , Greshamstroet , City , under the presidency of the Worshipful Master Bro . Lodge havin x been opened in accordance with ancient rites , and the minutes of the last meeting confirmed , the ballot was opened for Mr . Henry Edwin Sambrook , who had been proposed by Bro . T .

Soott and seconded by the Secretary . This veteran candidate having been unanimously accepted , was initiated into the mysteries and privileges of the Order by the W . M . whose working was admirable throughout . Bro . C . Blain was now duly presented as the W . M . elect , and , aisenting to the responaibilites of office , was obligated

by Bro . Dellow ; after whioh Bro . Charles Lacey P . M . the esteemed Treasurer of the Lodge assumed the chair and a Board of Installed Masters was formed , and the S . W . was installed into the chair of K . S . with all solemnity . The proclamations in the East , West and South respectively were made by the Installing Master ;

Bro . John Newton P . M . ( lata Secretary ) , who ocoupied the Senior Warden ' s chair ; and Bro . C . H . Webb P . M . Secretary in the Jnnior Warden's chair . The addresses to the Master , Wardens and Brethren were delivered in the same order by the above-named with admirable effect . Afc a late meeting Bro .

John Bulmer , the senior Past Master of the Lodge , had consented to act as a Steward at the approaching Festival of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , and it now transpired that it is just a quarter of a century since that worthy brother served in a similar capacity . In consideration of this being the Jubilee year of her Majesty's

reign , and in order to commemorate that interesting event , the Lodge unanimously agreed to grant the munificent sum of 50 gnineas to head Brother Bulmer ' s list . After the transaction of some minor matters of business , in the course of which the resignation of a member of the Lodgo was announced , and the Pro Grand Master's

circular on tho Jubilee question deferred until the next meeting , a valuable Past Master's jewel was presented to Bro . Dellow on his retirement from the chair , as a mark of esteem and regard , and in recognition of faithful and zealous services rendered io the Lodge during his term of office . The newly-installed Master , in affixing

the jewel to his breast , complimented Brother Dellow upon the punctuality he always observed , in spite of the heavy calls npon his time , both in his public and private capacities , and in connection with the Lodge , and remarked that ho had never been absent from any of its meetings . The gift was suitably acknowledged by the Immediate

Past Master , who thanked the brethren for their considerate kindness and appreciation of the humble services he had reudered to tho Lodge , in which he had over taken a deep interest . Brother John Newton P . M . then reminded the brethren that at this time last year when he requested to be relieved of the duties of the Secretaryship

of the Lodge , he asked the brethren that he might be permitted to compile a history of Sincerity Lodge . This permission was accorded him , and he had found the labour a most interesting occupation , though it had taken him considerably longer than he had at first anticipated . However , the work was now complete , and he

wished to place the MS . in tho hands of the Worshipful Master , with the view of its acceptance by the Lodge , so that tho members might deal with it it in any way they shonld deem expedient . It was resolved that a committee , consisting of the W . M ., tho Treas . and Sec , Bros . Bulmer P . M . and Dellow I . P . M . be appointed to act in

conjunction with Brother Newton , and to decide what steps should be taken to publish the "History , " for the benefit of the members . Soon after this Lodge was closed with the usual interchange of amenities , and the brethren subsequently partook of a sumptuous banquet , where the customary Loval and Masonic toasts were

honoured . Bro . J . Marchant superintended , and all tho arrangments were of a satisfactory character . As a rule , tho speeches were of corncommendable brevity , and thus time was gained for harmony , somo excellent songs and music beh : g rendered by Bros . H . Prenton , A . G . Pritchard , C . A . White , and other brethren . After the n 3 tial

prefatory toasts , the Immediate Past Master proposed the health of tho newly Installed Master , in doing which ho said it had happened somewhat out of tho ordinary course that Bro . Blain occupied the chair , but this arose in consequence of their excellent Senior Warden , Bro . Cant , finding that , owing to his tinio being so fully

engaged , he deemed it advisable , for his convenience and for tlie comfort of his brethren , to defer his candidature for the chair until some future time . Bro . Blain ' s qualifications for the presidency of the Lodge wero fully recognised , ho having passed through all tho offices in rotation ; aud tho brethren all united in wishing him

a happy and prosperous year . Bro . Blain acknowledged in appropriate maimer tho compliment paid him , and promised to do all he possibly could for tho welfare of tho Lodge , lie then propos . 'd the Visitors , of whom ho was pleased to sco so many present , especially Bros . Corbie and Child , gentlemen with whom ho had

tbe honour of being associated in business . These brethren replied , expressing their gratification at seeing Bro . Blain occupying so exalted a position iu tbe Sincerity Lodge . Tho W . M . in proposing the Charities alluded to tho special circumstances under which Bio . Bulmer had taken tip the Stewardship , That brother was assured

from personal friends the Bum of £ 90 , and tho Lodge had voted fifty gaineas to his list . This had been supplemented by the brethren around the table by a sum which raised the total to £ 195 6 s 6 d—an announcement whioh was received with prolonged applause . Brother Jones P . M . thought

it was a pity the amount should not go freely into the double figures , aud expressed his readiness to give five gainoas , which would raise the total to £ 200 lis 6 d . Doubtless within the

few weeks which elapse before the Festival , and after the pressing appeal by Brother Terry , this sum will be supplemented still further . In fact , we are sure this will be the case , inasmuch as we ourselves are enabled to announce that an esteemed member of the

Lodge ( Bro . H . R . Yates ) , with whom we were in conversation , suggested that the amount ought to be made guineas instead of pounds , and that if this could be effected it should be tried at once , and he would aid such an effort by giving five guineas . We commend this , gratifying fact to Bros . Webb and Bulmer , who may possibly be able

to fiud other brethren of the same way of thinking , and who will help further to increase the sum . Brother James Terry was most eloquent in his reply ; he acknowledged the deep indebtedness of the Institution with which he was most direotly associated to the

brethren of Sincerity Lodge . Brother Terry ' s sentiments , as expressed on this occasion , will be found fully embodied in our leading article of this week , and we commend it to the consideration of our readers . Other toasts followed , and the evening was closed most enioyably .

Captain T . P . Fisher was passed , the corcmony being well performed . Bro . Augustus Ross S . W . was then presented as the W . M . elect , and in dno order tbe ceremony was carried ont by tho outgoing Master , Bro . Jeffs , who delivered tho charges iu a vory impressive manner . The newly installed W . M . having been saluted with full

Tho usual loyal toasts were given from the chair , the W . M . obsorvintr that the

Jubilee rear of Her Majesty was ono of joy and rejoicing , for such an event had only occurred thrice before in tho history of our country . Dnring Victoria ' s happy reign there had been greater progress in science and education than at any other period , and the interest she took in the welfare of her subjects aroused feeiiogs of tbe

utmost loyalty and aflection . Tho toasts of tho Most Worshipful Grand Master and the Grand Officers followed , Bro . Wilhelm Ganz P . G . O . responding for the latter , and Bro . J . Tickle P . P . G . Rcg . Middlesex for the Provincial Grand Lodges , lie spoke in favour of a scheme for the division of London into District ? , witli a view of

enabling deserving brethren to obtain further honours . Tho Immediate Past Master , iu proposing tho health of tlie Worshipful Master , was sure the toast would bo received with enthusiasm . For six years Bro . Ross had dono his best to work his way through the various offices he had had co fill , and ho had discharged the duties of

each with credit to himself and satisfaction to tho brethren . Their Worshipful Master had had very little work thafc evening , but lie had performed it in an excellent aud elegant manner " , that would leave nothing to bo desired in future , lie asked them to drink the health of their Worshipfnl Master , :: nd join in wishing hiai a prosperous

year of office , and that too Lodgo would flourish under his guidanco . Tho toast was heartily accepted , and the Worshipfnl Master , in responding sincerely th inked the brethren for tho cordiality with which he had been received , and for tho compliments which had boon paid him . He assured them no effort should be wanting on his part to deserve the kind wordg which had

been spoken ot him by their Immediate Past Master , and to gain the respect and affection of al ! tho members of tho Lodge . Ha then gave the health of the Immediate Past Master and Installing Ofiicer , in doing which he remarked on tho excellont manner in

whica Brotner Jells had acted , aud now well ho had acquitted himself iu every office he had undo ; taken ; this was known to tho members and hud given them tha utmost satisfaction . He then pre-
