The ceremony of installation was discharged by the Deputy Prov . G . M . Bro . J . A . Brown , while Bro . F . C . Poulter Prov . G . D . C . officiated ably as Director of Ceremonies .

The Treasurer ' s report showed the Lodge to be in a satisfactory financial position . Six candidates were proposed for initiation—a significant mark of the progress and popularity of the Lodge .

A choice banquet was served in the Masonic Hall , Douglas , and was attended by about fifty Brethren from all the Insular Lodges , and several Lodges on the mainland . The after proceedings were enjoyable and interesting from a Masonic point of view , the utmost good feeling prevailing , and many matters affecting the Order being discussed .

During the evening the Prov . Grand Master presented , on behalf of the Lodge , to the I . P . M . Bro . F . R . Rowe a P . M ' s jewel ; and to Bro . Whiteside Secretary of the Lodge , a handsome jewel ; in recognition of their services to the Lodge .

ARCHITECT LODGE , No . 1375 . THE January meeting of this Lodge was signalised by a very happy function , the rooms of the Masonic Hall , Chorlton-cum-Hardy , having been especially decorated for the occasion . Shortly after seven o ' clock , the members began to receive their visitors and lady friends , and a very excellent dinner was afterwards partaken of . This was followed by an interval devoted to harmony , succeeded in turn by dancing , which lasted into the matin .

Various toasts were proposed and duly honoured , that of the Worshipful Blaster being in the competent hands of Bro . Arthur A . Moss P . M . Prov . G . Deacon , who said that Bro . Holland W . Heartv good wishes to the Architect . "

Bro . J . J . Lambert P . M . P . G . D . England proposed the health of Bro . Pickford , whose work in the Lodge during the unavoidable absence of the W . M . he also praised . Bro . Pickford , in reply , said he was grateful to the speakers for their

remarks ; what little he had done in the interest of the Lod ge was more than repaid by their kind words . He thanked the ladies for their support . It was gratifying to see them , and also the gentlemen visitors , and he hoped the former would lend their graceful presence at least once a year , that indeed they would insist upon doing so .

In responding to the toast of the ladies , proposed by Bro . Chas . Rawle P . M ., Bro . C . H . Beever P . M ., in his characteristically happy manner , thanked the Brethren on behalf of the fair sex , for the very hospitable entertainment which had been provided . Bro . Henry Nail P . M . P . P . G . Tr ., in proposing the health of the visitors , said his subject was a very comprehensive one , for it not only included those

gentlemen who were and who were not Masons , but it also included the ladies .
