fair attendance of members and visiting companions . After the transaction of the ordinary business of the Chapter , Comp . William Charlton was installed into the chair of Z . for the ensuing year , Comp . Reay as H ., and Comp . R . Guthrie as J . The Chapter was afterwards closed in due form , and the members then adjourned to the Star and Garter Hotel , Blyth , where the annual banquet was held .

PRESENTATION AT LINCOLN .

AN interesting social meeting of the Officers of the Lodges connected with the Freemasons' Rooms at Lincoln was held last week , when Bro . F . Saward , who has recently been appointed district goods manager of the Great Eastern Railway at Ipswich , invited his fellow Officers to a repast .

After tho Loyal toasts had been duly honoured , Bro . Barlow W . M . St . Hugh Lodge , on behalf of the Brethren , in a very happy manner eulogised the Masonic career of Bro . Saward , and presented him with a Master Mason's jewel , together with the following engrossed address : — Presented to Bro . Frank Saward , together with a Master Mason ' s Jewel ,

on his leaving Lincoln , by tho Officers of the Witham Lodge , 297 , St . Hugh Lodge , 1386 , Remigius Lodge of Mark Master Masons , 117 , and Holy Royal Arch Chapter of Concord , 297 , as a token of the high esteem and respect in which he is held by the Brethren , and in appreciation of his zeal and fidelity as a Mason , and of his many excellent qualities which have made for him friends of all who know him .

The remarks of Bro . Barlow were supported by the Masters of the other Lodges , who expressed the regret of the Brethren upon Bro . Saward ' s departure , and at the same time congratulated him upon the attainment of his promotion to Ipswich . Bro . Saward , in reply , thanked the Masters and Brethren for their very good wishes , and hoped to be long connected with his Lincoln Brethren , who had proved to him to be such firm friends .

PRESENTATION AT GATESHEAD . A GATHERING of Freemasons took place on Tuesday , 18 th inst ., at the Half Moon Hotel , Gateshead , for the purpose of showing their appreciation of the valuable services rendered by Bro . T . R . Jobson P . M . P . P . G . S . B ., in carrying out the arrangements to a successful issue connected with the ball in Gateshead Town Hall , promoted by the Brethren of Lodges 48 and 424 . Bro . Alfred Simpson W . M . 48 presided , and the vicechair was occupied by Bro . James Burrell W . M . 424 .

The former , in the course of a deeply interesting address , referred in high terms of commendation to Bro . T . R . Jobson , and the great respect in which he was held by members of the Craft . It was with great pleasure he presented to him , on behalf of' the Brethren , a Past Master ' s jewel . Bro Jobson replied in suitable terms .

Miss BLANCHE LESLIE , who has won for herself a name as a refined serio vocalist and graceful dancer , will leave England to-day ( Saturday ) , for Johannesburg , via Southampton , by the S . S . " Norman , " to fulfil an engagement at the Empire there . We wish her every success , and are sure she will sustain the high reputation she has earned on the English stage .
