NOTICES OF MEETINGS .
—* . o * . — FIDELITY LODGE OF INSTRUCTION , No . 3 .
LO ' GES of Instruction—properly speaking , Masonic schoolsabound in London . They are usually ably conducted , and afford opportunities to the neophyte to work up that are often wanting , or are bnt scantily supplied , in the provinces . Oue of the oldest and now most successful of these useful auxiliaries of the Craft is tho Fidolity Lodge of Instruction , the anniversary o £ which was held on Tuesday night , at the Holborn Eestanrant . Opportunity was
taken on this occasion to recognise , in a substantial way , the good services rendered by ihe Secretary , Bro . F . Sillis . It is customary j with some Lodges of Instruction to preface refreshment with labour , j bnt iu this case the brethren devoted themselves entirely to social j intercourse . The banquet took place in the Queen ' s Room of the j olegant establishment already referred to , and was worthy of the
\ fame tho catering there has obtained . Between fifty and sixty I brethren partook of the many good things provided , under the genial I presidency of Bro . VV . M . Stiles WM . , P . Z ., and VV . M . Elect of the ; Savoy Lodge . The tables were so arranged as to admit of several ; Vice-Presidents being appointed , and the respective chairs were ; filled by the following much-esteemed members of the Order : Bros .
: J . VV . Smith , w . A . Scnrrah , It . Ross , H . Dickey , and G . Court . Bro . , Stiles waa supported right and left by Bro . Sillis , the guest of the ¦ evening , Bros . Scales P . M ., J . C . Smith Assistant Preceptor , E . Storr , : ancl others . Among the other brethren present were P . Marx P . M ., i T . Batland , Simnor , Bryan , H . Sillis , Saunders , Ashton , ' Nadoniek , Fletcher , Hamilton , Crano , Kanffman , Barling , Jagols , Ager ,
Lambouru , Burnett , Harrison , Ormiston , Holland , Erablin , W . Smith , W . Fielclson I . P . M . 5 : 18 , Glynn , Sylvester J . D . 1 . 93 . The business proceedings bagan with tho toast—Loyalty to the Throno and devotion to the Craft , in which was included the Queen , tho Princo of Wales , the Earl of Carnarvon , nnd others holding eminent positions as rulers ' , in Freemasonry . The toast was given from the chair in brief but
! suitable terms , was drank with heartiness , nnd was followed by a fire sharp , resonant , an , l precise , and averse of the National Anthem . Permission to smoke was given , and after several challenges had been passed and responded to , Bro . Stiles gavo what ho described as "the toast of the evening , "—success to tho Fidelity Lodgo of Instruction . He referred with regret to tho unavoidable absence , throngh illness ,
of Bro . Koester , their respected Preceptor , to whom tho brethren owed much , as indeed they did to Bro . J . W . Smith Treasnrer , Bro . J . C . Smith , who so ably filled the post of Preceptor in Bro . Koester ' s absence , and to their old friend Bro . Sillis Secretary . The Fidelity Lodge of Instrnction was one of the oldest—goodness knewhow long it had been established . It was warmly supported by the brethren

Scales P . M ., J . C .
