all parts of the Island , and a record attendance of Past Blasters—the number present at the ceremony being twenty-four . The ceremony of installation was performed by Bro . John A . Brown P . BI . P . Z . Deputy Provincial Grand Blaster , and the post of Director of Ceremonies was taken by Bro . Geo . 0 . Heron P . M . P . Z . P . D . P . G . M . Prov . G . Treasurer P . G . Std . Br . England .

At the conclusion of the ceremony a special vote of thanks was accorded to Bro . J . A . Brown , for the manner in which he had done the work . For hia services as D . C , Bro . G . C . Heron was also thanked . Bro . T . Whiteside P . M . was chosen to represent the Lodge on the Prov . Grand Lodge General Purposes Committee , and Bro . G . H . Home P . M . on the Charity Committee . Bro . B . Bennett was chosen as Provincial Grand Steward .

A vote of thanks was also accorded to Bros . A . W . Brearey P . M . the retiring Treasurer , and T . Whiteside P . M . Secretary , for the successful exertions they had put forth so as to conserve the finances of the Lodge . At the close , the Brethren adjourned to the banqueting hall , and dined together under the presidency of Bro . A . Rowe .

Bro . G . C Heron responded as a Grand Officer , and referred to the great efforts being made on behalf of charity by the Blasonic fraternity in connection with the " Longest Reign , " now called " The Diamond Jubilee . " A special effort was to be made to place the Boys Institute on a better financial footing , as was done in the case of the Girls Institute in 1887 . The 99 th anniversary festival would be held on 30 th June , and he hoped Insular Masons would be strongly represented with a good list of subscriptions .

The health of the Worshipful Master was heartily honoured , and Bro . Rowe , in response , said that he would do all he could for the Tynwald Lodge . To start with he would become a Life Governor of the Boys School next June at the Festival . The toast of the Immediate Past Master Bro . Jas . Burman was also most cordially received , and he was presented with a Past Master ' s gold jewel , in recognition of the services he had rendered to the Lodge .

The toast of the Installing Blaster was proposed by the Rev . R . B . Baron Provincial Grand Chaplain and drunk amidst cheers , Bro . Baron alluding in an eloquent address to the true Blasonic feeling which Bro . Brown , by his excellent work , stirred up in all those who heard him .

Bro . Brown , responding , referred to the interesting figures given by Bro . Heron in his speech . In the Isle of Man he thought they talked a great deal about benevolence , but did not give sufficient effect to it . Now , however , Freemasons had an excellent opportunity of showing what they could do . There was Bro . Heron's appeal for the Boys Institute , and also the movement to increase the Benevolent Fund of their own Provincial Grand Lodge—both

excellent objects . They should all recollect that the Boys Institute was the best and most useful of its nature in the world , but , besides keeping that up , the Freemasons supported local Institutions all over the country , and , locally , a considerable amount was given by private Lodges , and by the Provincial Graud Lodge . The income of the Boys School in 1887 was £ 200

a week ; now , it was £ 400 . The Isle of Man had derived great benefit in the direction of educating some of the children of deceased Blasons , and should , especially this year—but always—endeavour to make some return . He hoped Tynwald Lodge would be- represented in June next , at the festival in connection with the Boys Institute .

Bro . James Burman undertook to act as Steward for Tynwald Lodge on that occasion , and said he would do his best .

BEAMINSTER MANOR LODGE , No . 1367 . THE installation of Bro . W . R . Pile took place at the Lodge room , White Hart Hotel , Beaminster , on Tuesday , 12 th inst ., the occasion being the 25 th anniversary of the Lodge . There vvas a good attendance of members and visitors , and Bro . W . Oxley vvas afterwards complimented upon the very

able and impressive way in which he conducted the ceremony . Sympathy was expressed by the Brethren for Bro . Terry ( Bvershot ) in his sad trouble , his affianced bride , to whom he was shortly to be married , having recently died suddenly . After the business was over the Brethren sat down to a capital banquet , provided by Bro . S . Bloor , and the excellent manner in which it was laid and served gave universal satisfactibn .

The Brethren afterwards adjourned to the Lodge room , which had m the meantime beon transformed into a very pretty drawing-room , the lamps with their delicate coloured shades having a very pretty effect , for the reception of the ladies who had been invited to join them at the " At home , " which had been arranged for this , the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Lodge , programme , consisting of songs , & c , had here been arranged .
