—; o : — CONSECRATION OF THE GODSON LODGE , No . 330 . ON Monday last , the 18 th instant , another Lodge was added to the roll of Mark Lodges by tbe above event . There has hitherto been but one Mark Lodge in Worcestershire , the Leohraere Lodge , No . 59 , at Worcester . Ifc bears the name of the Craffc Prov . Grand Master of the Province , and the new Lodg has been named after the Deputy Prov . Grand Master , Bro . A . F . Godson , who is so highly and

deservedly respected , not only in his own Province , but throughout the Craft . Lord Henniker M . W . G . M . M . M . of Ens-land , who had been expected to perform the ceremony , was obliged at the lasfc moment to depute Brother A . F . Godson to act as Consecrating Officer in his stead . A large number of visitors from the neighbouring Provinces of Warwickshire , Staffordshire , and

Gloucestershire , assembled at the premises- belonging to the Freemasons of Kidderminster known as the Masonio Hall and Club . Amongst those present we noticed Bros . F . Binckes Grand Secretary , D . M . Dewar Assistant Grand Sec , Rev . W . Kandall P . G . Chaplain , J . Walker D . P . G . M . M . M . Gloucestershire , J . McKay , of Cumberland , G . K . Patten P . G . Sec . Warwickshire , T . M . Humphries Stafford ,

W . Barkley P . G . Steward , W . Williamson Mayor of Worcester , G . W . Grosvenor Mayor of Kidderminster , T . H . Smith Warwickshire , and many other visitors , numbering upwards of 40 . Apologies expressing great regret at enforced absence had been received from Bros . Lord Henniker M . W . G . M . M . M ., Earl of Kintore D . G . M . M . M ., Lord Wolselev , A . M . Broadley , Rev . 0 . J . Martyn , Sir Edmund Lech .

mere , Major Tudor , Col . Foster Gongh , R . Eve , T . Howkins , F . Davidson , and many ofcher invited brethren of G . Lodge and Prov . G . L . The beautifully proportioned Masonic Hall at Kidderminster , wore a good appearance with over 70 brethren present , when a Mark Lodge waa dnly opened by Brother Barkley and the Officers of the sister Lodge of Worcester . This was followed by the advancement by the

same Officers of fifteen brethren to the degree of Mark Master Mason . The ceremony of consecration was then most ably and effectively performed by Brother A . F . Godson Depnty P . G . M . M . M . Warwick , shire , assisted by Bros , the Rev . W . Randall P . G . Chaplain , F . Binckes Grand Secretary , D . M . Dewar Assistant Grand Secretary . Brother the Rev . W . Randall delivered an excellent and stirring

oration on the principles and history of Mark Masonry . Following the consecration , Brother F . Binckes installed Brother George Taylor ( who is well known as the Craft Provincial Grand Secretary for Worcestershire ) into fche chair of Worshipfnl Master , in his nsnal masterly style . The Senior Warden is Bro . W . Clement Green , who is Hon . Seo . of the Masonic Hall and Clnb , and to whose unwearied

exertions and good management so much of the success of the day was due . Brother J . W . Consterdine Chadwick is J . W ., and it angnrs well for the future of the new Lodge that there are among its Officers no less than nine Masters and Past Masters of Craft Lodges . Ifc has seldom been the lot of Mark Masons to witness the splendid and faultless manner in which all three ceremonies of advancement ,

consecration and installation were performed . The whole of the brethren officiating were enthusiastically elected as honorary members of the Lodge . Several propositions were received for advancement and joining , nnd the offer of Bro . A . F . Godson to endow the W . M . ' s chair with a Life Governorship of the Mark Benevolent Fund was gratefully accepted . After the Lodge was closed , the brethren adjourned to the banquet hall , underneath the Lodge room ,

where they partook of a most sumptuous repast , under the presidency of Bro . A . F . Godson . The speeches which followed testified to the great delight experienced by all who were present in the proceedings of the day , and the visitors one and all declared they could never forget tho excellent working nnd arrangements witnessed by them , as well as the generous hospitality they had received from the Consecrating Officer and the brethren of Kidderminster .

— : o : — Ancient Ebor Preceptory , No . 101 . —On Thursday , the 7 th inst ., this Preceptory held a special conclave for the purpose of welcoming to the birthplace of English Masonry Bro . tbe Rev . H . R . Coleman , of Louisville , Kentucky , who was returning throngh Eng . land from bis second Masonic tonr through the Holy Land . The Preceptory was opened by E . Sir Knt . T . B . Whytehead , there being

also present Sir Knts . M . Millington E . P ., J . S . Cumberland P ., J . Marshall Const ., A . T . B . Turner Marshal , W . Brown , George Simpson , P . C . Palliser , J . Barker E . P . 114 , J . S . Walton , C . D . H . Drury , of St . Cnthbert ' s Preceptory , and others . The Sub-Prior of North and East Yorkshire Sir Knf . J . W . Woodall was announced and received , and took his seat afc the right of the throne . The

acting E . P . then welcomed Sir Knt . Coleman , and the Sub-Prior added some words expressive of tho pleasure it gave him to be present , to which Sir Knt . Coleman responded . Comp . J . T . Seller , of the Eboracum Chapter , was afterwards inducted into the Order and installed , which afforded the visitors an opportunity of witnessing the most approved English form of conferring the degree , ancl

Sir Knt . Coleman was afterwards elected an honorary member of the Preceptory . After its close the members entertained their guest afc dinner in the refectory , and a mot pleasant evening closed a happy day . On the following morning Bro . Coleman was , by the courtesy of Bro . J . Todd , Treasurer of 236 , enabled to inspect ihe * ancient relics of the Grand Lodge of all England held afc York in the last century .

The annual dinner of the members of the Wallington Lodge of Instrnction , No . 1892 , will take place on Thursday next , the 28 th inst . The brethren will assemble at the Public Hall , Carshalton , at 6-30 , when Bro . W . W .

Morgan , W . M . 211 , by request , will deliver Bro . T . B . Whytobead ' s popular lecture , " Women iu Freemasonry , " after which an adjournment will take place to the Kings Arms Hotel , where tho dinner will be served .

The Evening Netvs says that the new rule that country petitioners' cases must be reported on by the Grand Secretaries of their respective provinces , received excellent proof on Wednesday at the Board of Benevolence . The Beports of the Provincial Grand Secretaries enabled the members of the Board to deal most satisfactorily with the petitioners .

The M . W . the Grand Master the Prince of Wales will move at next meeting that Grand Lodge vote two sums of -650 each to the families of the men who lost their lives by the accident that latel y befel the Albert Edward Lifeboat as reported in our issue of the 9 th instant .

The April Quarterly Courts of the two Masonic Scholastic Institutions will be held on the 19 th and 2 lst of April respectively , in lieu of the 12 th aud 14 th April . This alteration is consequent upon the Easter Holidays .
