REPORTS OF MEETINGS .

We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonic meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative , to report Lodge or other proceedings .

CRAET : METEOPOLITAN . — : o : — HENLEY LODGE . No . 1472 .

ON Tuesday , 5 th inst ., a Lodge of emergency met at the Three Crowns Hotel , North Woolwich , to initiate , pass , and raise several gentlemen . Bro . D . Ross is the W . M . of this flourishing Lodge , and , assisted by his various Officers , performed the ceremonies in a very effective manner . Messrs . T . Clamp and H . J . Vaughan , both of South Woolwich , took their first step into the mysteries and rites of the Craft . Bros . Ross and Walters were passed , and Bros . Hirons , Hart , Hammond , and Ott were raised .

* * * RAHERE LODGE , No . 2546 . THE installation meeting was held in the Great Hall of St . Bartholomew ' s Hospital , on Tuesday , 12 th inst . Bro . J . H . Drysdale , M . D ., was elected a joining member . Bro . the Rev . Sir Borradaile Savory , Bart ., and Bro . Cross were re-elected members of the standing Committee , and Bro . A . W . Izard was elected a member of this Committee .

Bro . Reece W . M . installed his successor , Bro . Walter Gripper P . P . G . D . Surrey , as W . M . for the ensuing year . A Past Master ' s jewel was awarded to Bro . Reece , and Bro . Gripper , in the name of the Lodge , presented Bro . D'Arcy Power with the jewel of a P . G . D . in recognition of his services to the Lodge in the capacity of Secretary , and as a token of appreciation on his appointment to the office of a Junior Grand Deacon . The report of the Audit Committee was received and adopted . The Brethren and their guests to the number of 90 afterwards dined together at the Restaurant Frascati .

YARBOROUGH LODGE , No . 554 . ON Tuesday , at Bro . Butlin ' s , the Citizen , Houndsditch , Bros . J . George W . M ., G . Stock S . W ., B . Gibbard J . W ., J . Cowell P . M . Prec , D . McNish P . M . Sec , J . Mahony S . D ., W . T . Andrews J . D ., L . DaCosta I . G ., J . Wynman , & c . The Lodge being formed , the W . M . announced his intention of rehearsing

only one degree , as other important business had afterwards to be transacted . He selected the ceremony of initiation , for which Bro . Wynman was accepted as candidate . This being the first occasion on which we had had the pleasure of witnessing the working of Bro . George we take the opportunity of complimenting him on his efforts .

The yearly accounts were gone through , and the Secretary and Auditors were highly complimented on the record they were able to submit . Bro . G . Stock will preside on Tuesday next , when we hope to see a , good attendance .

* * * FRIARS LODGE , No . 1349 . UNFAVOURABLE weather did not prevent a good assembly on Thursday , at Bro . M . Abrahams ' s , the Mdgate Distillery , Aldgate , those present including Bros . Jas . Oxley W . M ., B . DaCosta S . W ., N . Goldman J . W ., L . A . DaCosta P . M . Prec , J . Davis Sec , M . DaCosta S . D ., S . B . Lotheim J . D ., John Durrell I . G ., A . Crabb Steward , D . Moss P . M . D . C ., J . Richmond , and J . Wynman .

A feature of the meeting was the presence of five Past Masters , each of them a Preceptor of a Lodge of Instruction . As can be imagined the work of the meeting was severely criticised , and it was fortunate that the Officers for the time being were well up in their duties . The Lodge was advanced to the second degree and Bro . D . Moss was

examined and entrusted as a candidate for raising , that ceremony being gone through , after which the W . M . worked the second and third sections of the lecture . The Lodge was resumed to the second degree and the W . M . worked the first section of that lecture . The Lodge was then resumed to the first degree .

Bro . B . DaCoata was elected W . M . for the first Thursday in July , as next week the .. worthy and highly esteemed Preceptor Bro . L . A . DaCosta has the privilege of officiating in the chair . It was proposed that a letter of sincere condolence be sent to Bro , fl .

Instruction.

Philips , sympathising with him in the loss of bis mother , also to Mrs . M . Abrahams , the hostess , sister of Mrs . Philips . Bro . B . DaCosta also proposed that a letter of sincere sympathy be sent to Bro . Joseph Abrahams , the W . M . of the Mother Lodge , who had met with a severe railway accident , wishing him a speedy recovery . All of which propositions were unanimously carried

* * * SKELMERSDALE LODGE , No . 1658 . THE fine weather caused a smaller attendance than usual at the weekly meeting of this Lodge of Instruction , held at the Rockingham , Newington Causeway , op . Sunday evening , at 7 o ' clock , but those who dul attend were well repaid with a very interesting display of Masonic working . The chair was occupied by Bro . R . B . Hopkins , who can at least show us how

to sound a bell , and was on this occasion equally at home in the chair of W . M ., even if his Masonic duties did not require quite so much activity as we are accustomed to witness when he is " ringing the changes " on his silver bells . He was supported by Bros . J . C . Davis J . W ., Charles Plant P . M . Prec , H . R . Buckeridge P . M . Treas ., B . Cohen Sec , J . Hibble S . D ., F . Nilen J . D ., S . P . Smeltzer I . G ., T . Davis P . M ., J . Ford , and 3 . Wynman .

The Lodge being opened the minutes were confirmed . The Lodge was called off and on . Lodge was advanced to the second and third degrees , and Bro . Plant , by desire of the W . M ., worked the first section of theleoture . Lodge was resumed to the second degree , and the W . M . expressed his desire to rehearse the third ceremony , for which Bro . J . Ford offered himself as the candidate , answered the questions , was entrusted , and duly raised .

Bro . Crowther was elected W . M . for the first Sunday in July , to-morrow being Officers' night . * * *

WOODROW LODGE , No . 1708 . THE fine weather did not prevent the Brethren attending this Lodge on Monday afternoon , at 3 o ' clock , at Bro . Rudderforth ' s ( Stone ' s ) Restaurant , Panton Street , Haymarket , those present including Bros . J . W . Simeons W . M . 193 Secretary of the Lodge as W . M ., J . E . Culverhouse S . W ., S . E . Firminger J . W ., 0 . Woodrow P . M . Prec , G . Baker S . D ., Th . Burgess J . D ., J . G . Lobb I . G ., N . Cawley , G . E . Genett , A . Menn , J . Wynman , & o .

The Lodge was opened to the second degree , and Bro . G enett answered the questions to the satisfaction of the ~ WM . He was entrusted and the ceremony of raising was proceeded with . Bro . Culverhouse was elected W . M . for Monday next . The excellent working of that Brother being so well known we strongly advise Brethren to pay the Lodge a visit on the occasion , and we are sure they will receive an exceptional Masonic treat , as well as a hearty welcome .

• * * * EYRE LODGE , No . 2742 . CONSIDERING the unfavourable weather there was a very good attendance on Wednesday , 13 th , at the house of Bro . 0 . Murless , the Eyre Arms Hotel , St . John ' s Wood . Those present included Bros . E . Nauen W . M ., A . Archers S . W ., G . Thompson J . W ., H . Weston P . M . Prec , W . Bersey Sec , E . Lillie S . U ., A . Barrell J . D ., J . Wynman I . G ., J . Graham P . M .

The W . M . having opened the Lodge vacated the chair in favour of Bro . Murless , who announced his intention of rehearsing a passing , for which Bro . Nauen offered himself as a candidate . He having answered the questions he was entrusted , the Lodge was opened in the second degree , and the ceremony was gone through . The perfect working of Bro . Murless being so well known requires no compliment on our part . The Lodge was resumed to the first degree and Bro . Weston , with the assistance of the Brethren , worked the second section of the lecture .

Bro . Nauen was elected a member , and Bro . Archer W . M . for Wednesday next . Brethren wishing for a Masonic treat are strongly recommended to pay this Lodge a visit . The meetings are held every Wednesday , at eight o ' clock . # * *

Worth Preceptor , J . Cox Deputy Preceptor , J . W . Faoey Treas ., Albert J . Taylor Sec , R . R . Young S . D ., H . G . Cox J . D ., W . S . Lyon I . G ., J . Cox Steward , B . S . Thompson , J . H . McNaughten , Barton Jones .

The W . M . rehearsed the ceremony of initiation , Bro . B . S . Thompson being candidate . Bro . Thompson answered the questions leading to the second degree . The Lodge was opened in the second degree . Bro . J . Cox answered the questions leading to the third degree , was entrusted and retired , and the ceremony of raising was rehearsed . Bro . C . S . Hatt was unanimously elected to occupy the chair at the next meeting .

A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Brj . Arthur Williams for occupying the chair and giving such a splendid rendering of the two degrees , and was duly recorded on the minutes . Bro . Williams highly complimented the Preceptor Bro . Worth , for his very able and kindly attention , and congratulated the Lodge in having such a genial Preceptor , so thoroughly efficient in the ritual .

The ceremony took place in the Court House , which was adapted for the occasion . Bro . Charles E . Judd Prov . G . Org . and P . M . of the Trinity Lodge WHS installed as W . M . by Bro . B . G . Thomas P . M ., and the Officers for the year were invested , After the ceremony , the Brethren repaired to the Old Ship Hotel for tbt banquet ,
