The menu card and toast list was quite a new feature , nnd waa specially designed by the W . M ., Bro . Jaokman . Th * Loyal and
Masonio toasts were proposed and most heartily responded to . The health of the W . M . was proposed by Bro . Jno . Hunt P . M . in verv eugolistio terms . He spoke of the great business and Masonio qualities of tbe W . M . It falls to the lot of few W . M . ' a to be honnurpd by the presence of a Bishop of Ripon , but snch was the lot of the W . The W . M . received the warm congratulations of the brebhren for a very happy and successful meeting .
HENGIST LODGE , No . 195 . ON the 7 th inst ., the Worshipfnl Master had a very pleasant duty to perform , in addition fco fche nsnal routine of this excellent Craft Lodge , in presenting one of its members , Bro . H . J , Atkins , with an illuminated address , which the members had unanimously voted to him at a previous Lodge for the greafc service he had rendered to the Officers and Brethren , and to Masonry in general ,
during the time he has resided in Bournemouth . The Worshipfnl Master ( Bro . W . H . Vye ) , in making the presentafcion , said be was not a man of many words , but what he did say be meant , and Bro . Atkins and the brethren must not think that if he did not make a long speech on that important occasion he thought
less . Bro . Atkins had rendered greafc service to the Lodge , and on his retirement from the office of D . C . it was only right that some recognition of these services should be offered fco him ; and he was very pleased that ifc had fallen to his lot to perform that pleasant duty . Bro . Atkins , although retiring from active work , wonld still
be amongst fchem . This presentation was tbe unanimous wish of the Officers and Brethren of the Lodge , as fche wording of fche address wonld show . He hoped he mighfc be long spared to give them help in the future from tbe store of his Masonio knowledge . Bro . Atkins , in reply , said he was deeply gratified afc receiving such
a mark of fraternal affection and esteem from the Officers and Brethren of the Lodge ; it was one he deeply valued and appreciated He wonld nofc have been able to do what he had for the Lodge without the cordial assistance of the Past Masters and the Officers and Brethren themselves . He shonld always remember with pleasure
the advance the Lodge had made in the working of the various ceremonies , and more especially by the addition of the musical portion , whioh he was glad to find had been ranch appreciated . He had no hesitation in saying the working of the Lodge now was second to none . Another important * feature was the firm basis on whioh the
Charity Funds had been placed . During tbe lasfc eight years the Lodge had contributed to the great Masonio Charities an amount equal to thafc contributed since its constitution in 1770 , and the voting power correspondingly increased . He trusted that the system whioh had worked so well wonld be continued in the fnture , and the
Lodge placed in the prond position of having votes at its command which would not only be a credit to itself but au hononr to the Province fco which it belonged . He could not conclude without thanking tho members of the Committee for their great kindness in undertaking
the work whioh hnd been delegated to them by the members , and be conld assure the brethren of the Lodge that , although he had resigned native work , he should be ever willing to render any assistance in his power ; and bo had not fear that the Lodge would maintain its efficiency .
