IT has been said that the consecration of the Loyal Hay Lodge of Freemasons three years ago was an event whioh will live in the memory of fche favoured initiates as one of the most beantifnl and instrnctive ceremonials that ever happened within their experience , the bright Masonio temple then being filled with Freemasons from various Provinces in Wales and England , and the crimson robe of fche eloquent Dr . Walters contrasting vividly with tho members' regalia
and other symbols . In fche course of time , members of a Masonio body , like people generally , become scattered throughout tho world . Thus it has been with the Hay Lodge , even within the three years . Bro . J . H . Tutton , tbe first Secretary , has gone to reside afc Shrewsbury , and there have been other removals . There was , therefore , an exceedingly pleasant re-union at the third anniversary festival of the
Lodge , on Monday , 11 th inst ., when Bro . Tutton was hononred by unanimous election as Worshipful Master for the ensuing year . Telegrams and letters expressing regret at inability to attend were received from a number of brethren , including Bro . M . Tennant P . A . D . G . C . of England and D . P . G . M . of the Province , who had undertaken to acfc as Installing Officer on this occasion , bnt waa
prevented by a domestic bereavement . In the unavoidable absence of the D . P . G . M ., Bro . the Rev . W . Williams Prov . Grand Chaplain became the Installing Officer , and he was ably assisted by another learned Master of the Craft in Bro . W . Townsend P . G . S . W . of Shropshire , and P . Z . of the PalladianChapter , No . 120 . The W . M . appointed his Officers . In the course of
the ceremony it was also the pleasing duty of the W . M ., on behalf of the Lodge , to present Bro . Golesworthy , the I . P . M ., with a Pasfc Master ' s jewel . At the conclusion of fche installation , on proceeding from labour to refreshment , there were congratulatory speeches . P . M . Baillie , who preceded Bro . Golesworthy as W . M . of the Lodge , said he was
sure that a more popular selection conld not have been made than that of Bro . Tutton for the chair , and the hononr was well-earned . Had it not been for the efforts of Bro . Tutton he was doubtful if the Lodge would have over become an accomplished fact . The now W . M ., who was wearing a Founder's jewel , observed , in the course
of his reply , that many people in the outside world were probably unaware that Freemasons were the richest Charitable Institntion iu the world , and although so secret yet they did in fcheir humble way the best they could for the community at large .
