United Grand Lodge.

The resolution was declared carried , and Brother Bussey was displaced in contravention of Article 140 , which requires such resolution to be carried by the majority of the Brethren present . It was resolved : —That Brother Maxfield Mead the "W . Master

for the time being , and Brother Tom Green the P . M . who temporarily occupied the chair and declared the resolution carried , be suspended from all Masonio rights and privileges for a period of six months .

The Board recommend that the thirteen Lodges ordered by Grand Lodge , at the last Quarterly Communication , to be summoned to frhew cause why they shou'd not be erased , being in distant parts , the consideration of their erasure be deferred until the next Quarterly Communication .

The Board have to report that the following Presentations have been made to the Libiaiy and Museum since last meeting of Grand Lodge , all of which have been accepted with thanks .

In consequence of the special . value of the Masonic collection of the late Major Irwin , comprising as it does a large number of printed books , manuscripts , medals , & c , the Board resolved that a vote of thanks to Mrs . Irwin be engrossed on vellum , handsomely illuminated and framed .

This has been done , and Mrs . Irwin has acknowledged the receipt thereof with much gratification . The Board also submit a Statement of the Grand Lodge Accounts at the last meeting of the Finance Committee , held on Friday , the

16 th day of February instant , shewing a Balance in the Bank of England ( Law Courts Branch ) of £ 3 , 766 16 s 5 d , and in the hands of the Grand Secretary for Petty Cash £ 1 C 0 , and for Servants' Wages £ 100 , and Balance of Annual Allowance for Library £ 53 19 s 5 d .

W . Subsequently a banquet ( served by Bro . Bland ) was held at the Angel Hotel , when the usual toast list was gone through .

KING CHARLES THE MARTYR LODGE , No . 267 . AT the regular meeting of this Lodge , at the Pump Room , Tunbridge Wells , Bro . Ragau Martin was installed W . M . for the entuing year , the ceremony being impressively performed by Bro . B . Rix , the outgoing W . M . In recognition of the invaluable services Bro . R . A . Dallas Beeching P . P . G . Regr . Kent had rendered

THE annual meeting was held at the Masonic Hall , Liskeard , when Bro . John Smale Dingle S . W . was installed . At the close of the meeting the Brethren adjourned to the Stag Hotel , where an excellent dinner was provided by the host , Bro . Cleave . The usual toasts were given .

FIDELITY CHAPTER , No . 477 . AT the regular meeting at the Masonic Chambers , Hamilton Street , Birkenhead , on the 12 th inst ., there was a goodly gathering to witness and participate in the presentation of a valuable gold hunting watch to Comp . Sam . Jones S . E . of the Chapter , as a token of respect and high esteem , after twenty-five years ' service . The presentation was made by Comp . John Morris P . Z ,, — : o : —

who , after a short history of the Chapter since its formation in March 1845 , referred to Comp . Sam . Jones ' s connection with it for a quarter of a century . During that period Comp . Jones had filled various offices , passed through the chair of First Principal in 1875 , and from 1876 to the present time performed the duties of Scribe E .

Comp . Morris laid stress on the fact that the Companions were under special obligations to Comp . Jones , for the faithful manner in which he had held the Chapter together in time of adversity , and attributed its present flourishing condition to his unwearied and zealous efforts in the face of every difficulty .
