Webb and Tozer were raised during the meeting , which waa brought to a conclusion in the regular

manner . The installation banquet followed , and at its conclusion tbe new Master gave the usual toasta . Those in honour of the rulers of the Craft having been disposed of , the I . P . M . rose to submit that of the W . M . He felt sure the Lodge would have the benefit during tbe coming year of an efficient ruler at its head . He had known Bro . Moss since their days of boyhood , and had been intimately

associated with him during his Masonic career . He invariably found him carrying out bis duties with thoroughness , and he felt sure be and his fellow members of the Samson Lodge would have a pleasant and enjoyable year under his guidance . The W . M . tendered his thanks . He had often thought , especially when he had occupied positions at the opposite end of the table , that if ever he rose to the

dignity of Master he wonld do wonders in the way of speechmaking . Now , however , when he wa 3 placed in the honourable position of Master he felt it very difficult to express his opinions as he had formerly intended to do , and hoped the brethren would not look upon this deficiency as anything like disappointment on his part now that he had risen to the highest dignity in the Lodge . He

was delighted to be in his present position , and hoped he should carry out-tha dnt . ifis attached to . it with such ability as to secure the respect and esteem of every member of the Lodge . Ht > bad nosb tho pleasure of proposing the health of his immediate predecessor in the chair , Bro . Lancaafcer , whom he regarded as a Past Master any Lodge would bo proud to possess . He had done well thus far in tho

Lodge , aud ho telt convinced he would give the members great assistance in the future , now that he had joined the company of Past Masters . In reply , the Immediate Past Master tendered his sincere tl . 'mkg , and said ha felt vory flattered at the kind way in which ho had been spoken of and received by tho members . The toast of the Visitors followed , the Master saying the Lodgo waa always pleased to see guests , and always endeavoured to do everything in tho power

of the members to entertain them and make their stay a pleasure . Bro . Myers , of the Tranquillity Lodge , which ia always regarded a 9 the mother of the Samson—having recommended its petition to Grand Lodge—was the first to reply . It was not wise to judge by results alone , but he felt members of the Tranquillity might congratulate themselves on having recommended so good a Lodge as the Samson had proved to be . He was pleased to see how strong it had grown , and how ably the work was performed

associated with him during his Masonic career .
