These tickets will be issued to holders of invitation cards only , and are also available by the ordinary trains from Waterloo to 8 unbury at 1-25 ancl 2-15 p . m ., which will specially stop to set down at Kempton Park Station , and on the return journey by any of the ordinary evening trains from Sunbury Station , on the day of issue .

The extracts from Brother John Chapman ' s diary of his " American Tour , " to which we have referred as being published in the " Devon County Standard , " have been reproduced in book form , and provide even more interesting reading now that they

An edition of Brother D . Murray Lyon ' s " History of Freemasonry in Scotland , " at a popular price—say 10 s or 12 s—has been long hoped for . If rumour speaks truly , says " The Mallet , "

The Midland Railway Company have issued a card giving a list of the principal Agricultural Shows to be held in 1895 , with the date and place were held , closing time for entries of both implements and stock , and Secretary ' s name and address , which should prove of service to intending exhibitors , as it gives a mass of useful information at a glance .

The " Quiver " for June will contain an illustrated paper by the Rov . W . Burnet on "The private worship of the Jews , " also a true tale of the sea , entitled "The saving of the Saga , " by His Honour Judge Collier . The Bishop of Killaloe will contribute an interesting account of his recent

Macduff , "A romance of the olden desert , " which has an added interest owing to the recent death of the author . Miss Sparrow will continue her experiences of life among the London poor , dealing this month with " Girl-labour . "

THE NEW ZEALAND EECOGNITION QUESTION .

To the FREEMASON ' S CHRONICLE . Sin AND BROTHER , —I have but just read , with much interest , that letter of special pleading for recognition , signed "E . T . Gillon , " which appeared in your issue of the 23 rd February last . The signature may be E . T . Gillon's , but the sentiments therein expressed are not his , as we have hitherto known them . Hitherto his

writings on tho N . Z . question have been fiery , and aggressive , and he has persistently invited those holding different views to tread upon tho tail of his coat . As lato as 17 th January last , seven days later than his letter to you , he , as President of the Board of General Purposes , presented to his Grand Lodge a report which he fathered , containing inter alia the following : —Six warrants for new Lodges were issued , one of -which , we regret to say , invades Neiv Zealand . The italics are not mine .

There is another side to this New Zealand question , as given by Brother Gillon . It has not yet been presented ; with your permission I will send you for publication a portion of it by tho following mail . I may , however , say now that to Bro . Gillon , and to him alone , is due the launching upon tho

Masonic world of the body of which ho is now a Past Grand Master . Had he listened to the advice of the late District Grand Master of Wellington , and to Lord Onslow , the evils now existing would not have troubled the Masonic population of this Colony . Yours fraternally ,

A DISTRICT GRAND OFFICER of Otago and Southland , English Register

Royal Aquarium . —The Westminster Aquarium Management not only searches the "World for Novelties , but it uses excellent judgment in selecting such only as are highly interesting and attractive ; the latest is an elaborate representation of the Decapitation of the Doge of Venice , represented by some hundreds of Life size figures in costumes of the period . In the Aquarium

proper are seen the Flying Alsons in a -wonderful and apparently hazardous feat . Other new turns of merit are a clever wire artiste , who actually slides erect down an almost perpendicular wire from the roof of the building to the Aquarium stage ; two Bears just arrived with two Trainers and two Professional Wrestlers , & c . Visitors should not miss seeing the Male Baby Chimpanzee , the only one in this country .
