Reports Of Meetings.
Bros . Hill , C H . Merrett and Simmons wore passed , Messrs . Wm . Hole and Grove Poppin Coopor were initiated . Bro . Robertson S . W . presented tho report of the Committee appointed to arrange the summer outing , which is to take place on Wednesday , 29 th inst . The Brethren afterwards assembled around the festive board , under the presidency of the W . M ., received the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts , and generally spent a happy time , keeping up the best traditions of the Lodge for genial good fellowship .
The J . W . was , as usual , in his element , in attending to the musical arrangements . An account presented by the S . W ., read by the Secretary , went rather out of the beaten track with relation to such gatherings . The work of the Master was complimented , and the initiates made really effective replies to their toast .
ENGINEER LODGE , No . 2599 . THE members of this Lodge held their last meeting before the summer vacation of three months on Saturday , llth inst ., at the Masonic Temple , 33 Golden Square , W ., when the following were present : Bros . Amongst the Visitors were Bros . J . Phillips P . D . G . S . W . Gibraltar P . M . 153 , U . Mulholland P . M . 398 , W . Phillips 2277 , R . Glanville 704 , T . Halsam 1424 , J . Bruce 726 . The Lodge was opened in due and ancient form , with solemn prayer , and the minutes of the twenty-first meeting read and confirmed .
The ballot was then taken on behalf of J . W . Healey C Serg . Major R . E ., of Woolwich , and H . W . Drackford Q . M . Sergt ., of Chatham , and found all clear . The aforenamed being in attendance were then admitted and initiated into the mysteries of ancient Freemasonry , the charge being admirably and impressively given by the I . P . M .
The Lodge was then opened in the second degree , Bro . P . Ward examined as to his proficiency , and , having answered the questions in an admirable manner , he was entrusted . The Lodge was then opened in the third degree and Brother Ward was raised , the complete traditional history and tracing board being given by the W . M . in a very able manner , so as to thoroughly impress on the candidate the solemn ceremony he was going through .
The Lodge was then . resumed to the first degree , when , amongst other general business , the Steward for the Centenary Festival of the Boys Institution ( Bro . White ) gave an interesting description of the grand ceremony held in the Albert Hall , and stated he felt proud of being one of the Stewards at such a Festival .
Very interesting were the many meetings of old comrades who had not met for many years , from various parts of the British Empire ; some who last met in Egypt , others in far off Bermuda , and other stations , proving the advantages of such a society as Masonry , where all can meet and feel equal with each other ; it cannot but do good , and help to spread the influence of our Noble Art to the limits of the globe , or , as in the motto of the Corps from which this Lodge receives its members , " Ubique . "

ST . MICHAEL LODGE , No . 211 . ON Monday , at Bro . G . H . Gates ' s , Richmond Hotel , Shepherd's Bush , the Brethren again assembled in strong force to participate in the working of tha sections of the second and third degrees , the first sections having been worked , as reported in our last issue , on Monday , 13 th inst .
Tho chair was taken as on the previous occasion by Bro . G . E . Higgenson P . M . 1791 , with Bros . J . Knight S . W ., F . Craggs P . M . J . W ., R . H . Williams P . M . Prec , C . Barber Sec , S . Webb S . D ., W . Woods J . D ., T . Ridgway I . G ., E . Kirkham P . M . 2309 , Pred Payne , Jubb , Cordin , T . Jobson , A . Dallas , Stansell , Elkin , Johnson , J . Wynman , and several others .
Lodge being duly formed was advanced to the third degree , and then resumed to the second , when Bros . P . M . Ridley , R . Reid W . M .-elect 1275 R . H . Catling P . M . 2157 , J . Knight J . W . 861 , and P . Craggs went through the different sections . Lodge was called off and on , and then resumed in the third degree , when Bros . S . Webb P . M . 1287 , H . R . Elkin , and R . H . Williams Preceptor of the Lodge completed the sections , and . the W . M . resumed the Lodge in the first degree .
Bro . A . M . Dallas was elected a member of the Lodge , and the W . M ., S . W . and J . W . of the evening had the compliment of honorary membershi p conferred on them , tho Preceptor , in making this latter proposition , expressing thc pleasure he ' had experienced in seeing so many Brethren present on the two occasions when the sections had been worked .
Bro . Higgenson , in acknowledgment , said it was a great pleasure to him to be again present in the Lodge , as he was always pleased to meet the members of the St . Michael . When he was the Preceptor of the Lodge he was an honorary member , but as he resigned the post he was proud of again
having tho compliment conferred on him . Whatever assistance he could render to the Lodge he should only be too pleased to give . He heartily thanked the Brethren who had assisted him in working the sections . Bros . Knight and Craggs also acknowledged the compliment conferred on them by the Lodge .
A vote of thanks was passed to the Brethren who had worked the sections , and being acknowledged tho proceedings terminated . Bro . S . Webb will preside at the next meeting .

M . vacated the chair in iavour of Bro . Arthur Williams , who opened the Lodge in the second degree , and Bro . Ridley answered the questions leading to the third , which ceremony was rehearsed .

The ceremony was rendered in a most impressive manner , aud tho Brethren expressed a hope that such an excellent exponent of tho ritual as P . M . Arthur Williams would try and come amongst them oftener . The Lodge was resumed to the first degree .
It was subsequently proposed that Bro . Wilcox should preside at the next meeting , and that a , hearty vote of thanks be entered on the minutes to Bro . Blaydes , for the excellent manner in which he had carried out the duties of the chair for the first time in this or any other Lodge of Instruction . Bebrouth P . M . Preceptor , C . Breden P . M . Seo . ( who is fulfilling the duties of the office for the twenty-sixth year ) , T . Blyth S . D ., W . Hayward J . D ., D . Gower I . G ., A . Robinson P . M ., " Pringle P . M ., Barrett , A . Lucas , Nelson P . M ., J . Wynman , and others .
The Lodge being opened , the W . M . proposed to rehearse the ceremony of passing , for which Bro . Robinson P . M . kindly offered himself as the candidate . After being examined he was entrusted , the Lodge was opened in the second degree , and the ceremony was gone through . This being the first time for very many years that we have bad the pleasure of visiting this Lodge we take the opportunity of complimenting the Brethren on the fraternal spirit evinced .
Bro . Marrow displayed considerable ability in the work , while Brother Bebrouth P . M . distinguished himself as Preceptor . The Lodge of Instruction is almost too well known to Brethren of the East-end . to need any recommendation from us , all we need say is that it maintains the high reputation it won in years gone by , and affords the opportunity of enjoying a pleasant hour in Masonic union , and at the same time provides the means for good instruction for those who may desire to improve their knowledge of the ritual and ceremonies of our Order .
Bro . Shuttleworth S . W . was chosen to preside at the next meeting , and he being well qualified in the work there is a prospect of an interesting gathering , with a large number of Brethren present to participate .

LOYAL CAMBRIAN LODGE , No . 110 . THE Brethren of this Lodge held their annual summer outing on Thursday , 16 th inst ., the place selected being Raglan , where a banquet was partaken of at the Beaufort Arms Hotel . After a ramble round the beautiful old Castle ruins , the party returned by brakes to the Angel Hotel , at
Abergavenny , where the company sat down to a high tea . The Worshipful Master Bro . J . M . Berry , who presided , gave the Loyal and customary Masonic and other toasts , which were duly honoured . The party returned by saloon , arriving at Merthyr at 10-30 p . m ., a most pleasant outing having been experienced .
LODGE OF VIRTUE , No . 152 . A REGULAR meeting of this old and popular Lodge was held at the Freemasons' Hall , Cooper Street , Manchester , on Friday , 17 th inst . The minutes having been read and confirmed , Bro . Joseph Dutton was
raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason by Bro . George Wragg W . M ., the ceremony being excellently well performed . This was succeeded by the remainder of the traditional history of the third degree , which was rendered by Bro . the Rev . John Watson P . M . P . P . G . C . Chaplain .
Grand Lodge certificates were presented to Bros . Herbert Senior , and the Rev . Nicholas Birkett , after which the Lodge was closed in peace and harmony . The annual picnic in connection with the Lodge will take place on
Wednesday next , 29 th June , the place selected being Studley Royal , with a visit to Ripon and its cathedral , and also to the historical ruins of Fountains Abbey . From our own knowledge of the locality , which has been fully described in these columns , we can—given a fine day—promise intending visitors a treat of an exceptional character .
