r PUB installation meeting was held on Thursday , 16 th iust . The A- brethren assembled at five o ' clock , at Bro . Lloyd ' s , Approach Tavorn , Victoria Pai * k , when Lodgo was opened by Bro . Abraham Lazarus , who was supported by his Officers ; P . M . ' s C . K . Crouch , Jas . Terry , G . Ward Verry , W . Crutch , and tho following Visitors : — H . G . Buss Assist .-Grand Sec , W . S . Hunter P . M . 1677 , McCarthy W . M . 1076 , G . T . H . Seddon P . M . 174 J . S . Cumberland I . P . M .

After tho minutes of last meeting had been read ancl confirmed , the Auditors presented thoir Eeporfc of tho financial condition of the Lodge , which showed a clean sheet , with a goodly balance in hand . The W . M . elect , Bro . Joseph George Defriez , was then presented by Bro . G . Ward Verry , and took the

obligation . Lodge was opened in the third degree , and after the brethren below tho rank of Installed Master had retired , a Board of Past Masters was formed , and Bro . Lazarus , in a careful and perfect manner , installed his successor into tho chair of King Solomon . Tho brethren were then re-admitted , and they saluted tho W . M . in tho three degrees . The appointment of Officers resulted as follows : —

After the Installing Master had delivered the addresses to Master , Wardens , and Brethren , a communication was read from Sir Francis Burdett , Prov . G . M . Middlesex ,

regretting that other engagements prevented his acceptance of tho invitation sent him to visit the Lodge . An appeal for assistance was then read from a distressed brother , and the brethren gavo it full consideration , but with a result not favourable to the applicant . A candidate was then proposed for initiation at the next meeting , and after the Visitors had offered their hearty good wishes , Lodge was closed . After a short interval—necessitated by the re-arrangement of

the room—banquet was served , Bro . Defriez presiding . The repast was all that could bo desired , both as regards quality of the viands and perfection of service , and seemed to be thoroughly appreciated by Bro . Lloyd's patrons . On the removal of the cloth , tho W . M . gave the Loyal toasts , the National Anthem ancl " God Bloss the Princo of Wales " being sung . Iu proposing tho toast of his Eoyal Highness , Bro . obligation . Lodge was opened in the third degree , and after the brethren below tho rank of Installed Master had retired , a Board of Past Masters was formed , and Bro . Lazarus , in a careful and perfect manner , installed his successor into tho chair of King Solomon . Tho brethren were then re-admitted , and they saluted tho W . M . in tho three degrees . regretting that other engagements prevented his acceptance of tho invitation sent him to visit the Lodge . An appeal for assistance was then read from a distressed brother , and the brethren gavo it full consideration , but with a result not favourable to the applicant . A candidate was then proposed for initiation at the next meeting , and after the Visitors had offered their hearty good wishes , Lodge was closed . After a short interval—necessitated by the re-arrangement of

the room—banquet was served , Bro . Defriez presiding . The repast was all that could bo desired , both as regards quality of the viands and perfection of service , and seemed to be thoroughly appreciated by Bro . Lloyd's patrons . On the removal of the cloth , tho W . M . gave the Loyal toasts , the National Anthem ancl " God Bloss the Princo of Wales " being sung . Iu proposing tho toast of his Eoyal Highness , Bro .
