toasts was Prosperity to tho Lodge of Israel Benevolent Fund . During tho evening a largo number of subscriptions wero announced , the result being the addition of a handsome sum to the fnnd . The banquet was served in admirable style , and the arrangements mado for tho comfort of the brethren afforded very general satisfaction .

Z . it is sufficient to say that the ceremony was performed in a

faultless manner . The bye-laws drawn out by tho Committee appointed at the last convocation were read , and after due consideration adopted . A . toasts wero duly proposed ancl honoured . Tho health of tho exalteos was proposed by tho M . E . Z .

in felicitous terms , aud was responded to in a very able manner , particularly by Comp . Bartlett . The health of the Visiting Comps . were then proposed aud responded to . Comp . Newton P . Z . proposed the health of the M . E . Z ., and referred to the high estimation in which Bro . Terry was held by the Comps ., as well as other brethren in tho Craft . This was received with great cordiality . Tho M . E . Z . responded in his usual happy style , and congratulated

the Comps . on the success of the Chapter . He then proposed the health of his principals , II . and J ., and referred to their great ability and tho assistance he had received from them . The other Officers were also honoured . The proceedings were enlivened by Comp . Isaac , who gave a recitation ; by Comps . Killick , Stock , Griggs , Fenner , ancl Davies , who sang some capital songs . The Janitor ' s toast brought a very pleasant evening to a conclusion .

closed . The members adjourned to banquet , which was well served , At the conclusion the W . M . gave tho usual toasts , presiding at the banquet table , as in the Lodge , in a most efficient manner . Several of the members contributed" to the harmony of the evening , which , throughout , passed off most onjoyably . The W . M . suggested that the proceeds of the Charity box , sent round during the evening , be given to tho Tyler , and this met the approval of all present .

Merchant Navy Lodge of Instruction . —Held its weekly meeting at tho Silver Tavern , Burdett-road , on Wednesday , tho 23 rd inst . Bros . R . J . Ould W . M ., Scheerboom S . W ., Warner J . W ., J . E , Ives S . D ., Robinson J . D ., Ellingford I . G ., Turquand Preceptor ; there were also present Bros . W . Hallett , S . Hallett , Breden , Hogg , Pringle , Williams , and several others . Lodgo opened in due form with prayer . Bro . Hogg , acting as candidate for raising , was asked the

usual questions , and entrusted . Lodgo opened in the 3 rd degree , when the ceremony of raising was rehearsed . Tho W . M . then vacated tho chair in favour of Bro . J . E . Ives , who worked the 1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd sections of the 1 st Lecture , aud 3 rd section of 2 nd Lecture , assisted by the brethren . Lodge closed in due form , and adjourned till Wednesday , the 30 th inst ., when the Fifteen Sections will be worked by Bro . J . E . Ives . The proceedings will commence at 7 o ' clock precisely .

Dalhousie Lodge of Instruction , No . 860—On Tuesday , the 22 nd inst ., at Bro . Smyth ' s , Sisters Tavern , Pownall-road , Dalston . Bros . J . Lorkin W . M ., C . Lorkin S . W ., Young J . Dobie Lodge , No . 889 . —The installation meeting of the brethren of this Lodge was held on Wednesday the 16 th iust ., at the Griffin Hotel , Kingston-on-Thames . Bro . Francis Buckland the W . M , and P . M . of 205 presided iu the chair of K . S ., and there was a large attendance of members and visitors . The routine bnsiness having been gone through , Bro . Buckland proceeded to instal his successor , Bro . Geo . Porter , and the efficient manner in which the ceremony was

closed . The members adjourned to banquet , which was well served , At the conclusion the W . M . gave tho usual toasts , presiding at the banquet table , as in the Lodge , in a most efficient manner . Several of the members contributed" to the harmony of the evening , which , throughout , passed off most onjoyably . The W . M . suggested that the proceeds of the Charity box , sent round during the evening , be given to tho Tyler , and this met the approval of all present .

Merchant Navy Lodge of Instruction . —Held its weekly meeting at tho Silver Tavern , Burdett-road , on Wednesday , tho 23 rd inst . Bros . R . J . Ould W . M ., Scheerboom S . W ., Warner J . W ., J . E , Ives S . D ., Robinson J . D ., Ellingford I . G ., Turquand Preceptor ; there were also present Bros . W . Hallett , S . Hallett , Breden , Hogg , Pringle , Williams , and several others . Lodgo opened in due form with prayer . Bro . Hogg , acting as candidate for raising , was asked the

usual questions , and entrusted . Lodgo opened in the 3 rd degree , when the ceremony of raising was rehearsed . Tho W . M . then vacated tho chair in favour of Bro . J . E . Ives , who worked the 1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd sections of the 1 st Lecture , aud 3 rd section of 2 nd Lecture , assisted by the brethren . Lodge closed in due form , and adjourned till Wednesday , the 30 th inst ., when the Fifteen Sections will be worked by Bro . J . E . Ives . The proceedings will commence at 7 o ' clock precisely .

Dalhousie Lodge of Instruction , No . 860—On Tuesday , the 22 nd inst ., at Bro . Smyth ' s , Sisters Tavern , Pownall-road , Dalston . Bros . J . Lorkin W . M ., C . Lorkin S . W ., Young J . The Lodgo was opened , aud the minutes of last meeting wero read

aud confirmed . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Christian candidate . Bro . Cook answered the necessary questions ; tho Lodge was opened in the second degree , and the ceremony of passing rehearsed , Bro . Cook candidate . Tho Lodge was resumed to the first degree , aud Bro . Allen worked the first aud second sections of the lecture . Bro . C Lorkin was elected W . M . for the ensuing week .

Dobie Lodge , No . 889 . —The installation meeting of the brethren of this Lodge was held on Wednesday the 16 th iust ., at the Griffin Hotel , Kingston-on-Thames . Bro . Francis Buckland the W . M , and P . M . of 205 presided iu the chair of K . S ., and there was a large attendance of members and visitors . The routine bnsiness having been gone through , Bro . Buckland proceeded to instal his successor , Bro . Geo . Porter , and the efficient manner in which the ceremony was

conducted elicited warm remarks of approbation , both from the brethren and visitors . The newly installed Master then proceeded to appoint his Officers as follow : —Bros . Saunders P . M . 1503 S . W ., Mitan J . W ., Linton S . D ., Nuttall J . D ., Cartwright P . M . Treasurer , Squire P . M . Sec , Bond P . M . D . C .
