ON the 17 th inst ., the installation meeting of thi « Lodge was held at the Three Nuns Hotel , Aldgate . Bro . W . Haywood tbe Worshipfnl Master presided , the Senior Warden , Bro . Samuel Toye , was installed as Worshipful Master by Bro . Past Master Smith , and the following Officers were appointed : —Bros . Smith S . W ., Schmidt J . W ., Gieseke Treasurer , Free Secretary , Millington S . D ., Barnes
J . D ., Forater I . G . ; Parsons , Jeffrey , Clarke , and Randall wero also selected for office . Several candidates were elected and initiated into the Order . Other business was transacted , and the members and their friends subsequently sat down to an excellent banquet nnder the presidency of tbe newly-installed Master . In the course
of the evening a very handsome Past Master ' s jewel was presented to the retiring Master , for his services during the past yoar . The health of tbe new Master was most enthusiastically drank , and suitably replied to . A number of other toasts were given , and the evening ' s proceedings , whioh lasted to an unusually late hour , were most satisfactorily terminated .

Steward , on his retiring from the position of Tyler of the Lodge , and ns a mark of fraternal esteem and brotherly love . The W . M ., Bro . W . J . Pengelly , said they were met that evening to de honour to a worthy and deserving brother , who wis
highly respected and esteemed by all who knew him . Bro . Gidley was ono of tho founders of St . Goorgs ' s Lodarn , >; nd he had nob missed a single Lodge meeting since its foundation . Thi-y were proud to welcome him inside the Lodge , for Bro . Gidley waa one of the oldoat Masons in the West of England , and all who knew him spoke kindly of him . He went on to explain that tho propo 3 _ l for
making a presentation to Bro . Gidley emanated from tho yuuog members of the Lodge , he having won their favour nnd affection . The sum of £ 5 5 s was unanimously voted from the funds of the Lodge , and on the initiative of Bro . Bone a subsoriptiou was started amongst the members , and most generously responded to by all the members . He then presented Bro . Gidley , in the name of the Lodgo ,
witb a scrip for five shares in the Masonic hall aud club , and tru . ted he would be spared to be with them for many years to come . After other brethren had spoken , Bro . J . Gidley , who on rising seemed deeply affected at the warmth of the reception aecordod him , thanked them for their kind expressions , and said they could reiy on his support and assistance as long as his health p > jrm > tted .
