MASONIC "AT HOME . "

IT is now some years since such a brilliant Masonio " At Home" has been given at Aldershot , as one which took place on Friday , llth inst ., at the Officers' Club House , in connection with the Army and Navy Lodge , No . 1971 . The interior of the Club had been most extensively , as well as lavishly , decorated for the occasion , the stage was most picturesque , and it was a happy thought to place a fine young sailor at one side , and at the

other side of the platform a fully-dressed corporal of the Grenadier Guards , each with musket in hand , for they made a splendid representation of the two arms of the service , and by whose name the Lodge is known . The attraction at the " At Home , " was the presence of Mr . Dudley Causton , Miss Greta Williams , Mr . Arthur Walenii , and the splendid band of the 2 nd Rifle Brigade . The Brethren appeared in Craft clothing , whilst the Ladies

appeared to have determined to vie with them in the effectiveness and beauty of their own particular costumes . His Royal Highness the Duke of Connaught P . G . M . is a member of the Lodge , and much regret was expressed at his inability to be present , for the arrival of the Duke and Duchess had been confidently looked forward to up till within a short time of the commencement of the proceedings . Unfortunately a messenger arrived stating that the Royal party were unable to attend .
