Reports Of Meetings.
Standard Lodge on the 3 rd inst ., so the ceremony was somewhat abbreviated , but the- work was carried out by Bro . Stiles with the perfection due to experience , and his subsequent delivery of the Addresses met with the well merited applause of those present . The new Master ' s first duty was to appoint his Officers for
the year , and the following Brethren were invested : —Percie C . Cooper S . W ., T . H . Carleton J . W ., W . M . Stiles Treasurer , J . J . Lamigeon Secretary , S . N . Wolffers S . D ., Vincent Smith J . D ., R . Emery I . G ., J . b . Keith D . C ., A . W . Whight Organist , W . Whitehouse and B . R . Watkins Stewards , and T . Edmonds P . M . Tyler .
Bro . Badman ' s capacity for work is such that he determined to give the Clissold Lodge the benefit of his experience in another place , and thereupon proceeded to initiate Mr . Edwin William Taylor into the privileges of Freemasonry . Needless to say the ceremony was very ably rendered , and the new Officers proved themselves equally efficient in their duties .
The report of the Audit Committee was received and adopted , and the resignation of three members was accepted with regret . The Lodge was then closed , and the Brethren adjourned to the handsome new . dining room , where- the banquet was served . The customary Loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed by Bro . Badman , who remarked , with regard to the Grand Master ^ elect , that he first received Masonic Light while His Royal Highness was District Grand Master of Bombay .
Bro . Mason Stiles acknowledged the toast of the Grand Officers with one of his characteristic breezv speeches which tend to make him so popular . The Master ' s health having been proposed by his predecessor , Bro . Badman replied that he was pleased he had previously passed through the chair of a Lodge , in order that he might the better fulfil the duties of his present position .
Bro . Alfred H . Cooper P . M ., on behalf of the- Lodge , presented Bro . Henry King I . P . M . with a Past Master ' s jewel that had been subscribed for by the members in order to mark their appreciation of the services rendered during his year of Office .
Bro . King briefly returned thanks , and said he should never forget the kindness of the Brethren in making the presentation . For certain reasons he had declined the usual jewel from the Lodge , but he could not refuse to accept the generous present so thoughtfully offered .
Bros . Cuthbertson , Cunningham , Gandy and James replied for the Visitors , and the Initiate , the Officers , and the Past Masters were duly complimented and 'responded . At a late hour Bro . Edmonds closed the proceedings with the Tyler's toast . The entertainment was under the direction of Bro . Alfred E . Nicholson .

W ., when the new Master was duly installed into the chair of K . S . by Brother Edwin George W . M .., who was supported by Bros . Frank Crocker P . M . as S . W ., Stratton P . M . J . W ., Campbell P . M . D . C .

The three Addresses were delivered by Bro . George in a very excellent manner .
The Auditors report , which was received , and adopted , shows a substantial balance in hand . A P . M . jewel was presented to Bro . George , as a recognition from the Lodge of his services during the past year . An excellent banquet was provided under the personal superintendence of Bro . Wm . G . Coxen , the Proprietor , and was held in the spacious and handsome billiard room , the tables having been removed for the purpose .
Bro . J . M . McLeod Secretary to the Boys Institution and several Past Masters and lay members were present as visitors , the whole company numbering abotit eighty . The musical arrangements were under the direction of Brother James Gawthrop , assisted by Bros . Arthur Barlow , Will Edwards , Butler , and John Britton accompanist .

Giles answered the questions leading to the k second , was entrusted , and the ceremony of passing was gone through , including the full explanation of the working tools . This being the first time we have had the pleasure of seeing Bro . R . Fitch jun . in the chair—he is only a young Mason—we cannot let the opportunity pass without complimenting him on his excellent working ; it was all that could be desired . We also congratulate the Brethren generally on having so excellent a Preceptor . Bro . J . Lieven was elected W . M . for Tuesday next .

Pitt at the quarters at the Hercules Tavern , Leadenhall Street . On Wednesday , 17 th inst ., Bro . Meats occupied the chair , supported by Bros . Bygrave S . W ., Carr J . W ., Chittock S . D ., Bailey J . D ., Done I . G ., J . K . Pitt Secretary , Spice Preceptor , Simeons I . P . M ., Colin , and a good attendance of other Brethren .
The first ceremony was rehearsed by Brother Colin . Brother Hearn was instructed in the questions leading to the second degree , was entrusted , and passed as a Fellow Craft . Bro . Pitt , assisted by the Brethren , worked the first section . Bros . Spice and Simeons showed their perfect knowledge as Preceptors . Congratulations of the members were sent to Bro . Green , on the joyful announcement of the advent of his son and heir .
EASTER HOLIDAY did not interfere with the gathering of the Brethren on the 10 th inst ., when Bro . Bailey was in the chair and proved himself very fit . Bro . Mears as S . W . was perfect . Careful , painstaking Bro . Bygrave as J . W . needed no prompting , and the Deacons carried out their duties well , while the towering form of Bro . Carr provided a formidable Inner Guard , should cowans or intruders have appeared . The W . M . vacated the chair in favour of Bro . Mears , who rehearsed the ceremony of initiation .
On the proposition of Bro . Fulljames , Bro . Hearn was unanimously elected a member , and after an interesting evening's working Lodge was closed in the usual manner .

Lodge being opened to the second degree Bro . R . H . Williams was examined and entrusted , and the raising ceremony was gone through . The S . W . was called upon to render the traditional history , which he did in a perfect manner .
Bro . Elkin was elected to preside on the next occasion . We were unfortunately unable to be present at the previous meeting , but a very pleasant incident occurred . Bro . R . H . Williams P . M . 865 1767 P . P . G . J . D . Middx , was presented by the Brethren with a handsome diamond scarf pin , in the shape of a
P . M . jewel , in token of the esteem in which he is borne , both as Preceptor and Brother . Bro . Williams , in thanking the subscribers for the handsome gift , said it was the only one of the kind he had ever received . His labours in the cause of Freemasonry were prompted by his love for the Craft , and he should always do the best he could to teach the ritual in a proper manner .
