Bro . Wilkins was examined and entrusted and the Lodge being opened in the second degree the passing ceremony was gone throusrh . The Lodge being -resumed to the first degree it was called off and on . The W . M . then vacated the chair in favour
of Bro . White S . D . of the Mother Lodge , and requested him to work the initiation ceremony . This was done , and the Brethren expressed their approval of the way Bro . White had rendered the ritual , and at the same time thanked Bro . Wilkins for his kindness in taking the candidate ' s place .
Bro . Walter Atkinson was elected to act as W . M . at the next meeting . Before the closing Bro . Arthur Williams said that he was asked by those present to offer their congratulatipns to Bro . Craggs P . M ., on the celebration of the third anniversary of that highly esteemed Brother ' s marriage . Bro . Craggs expressed himself highly gratified at this mark of appreciation on the part of those present .
GOOD FRIDAY is always looked upon as being an evening for good attendance in this part of London , and on the 5 th inst . we were pleased to note a large gathering , amongst those present being F . Lodge being opened to the second degree , Bro . Worth was examined and entrusted , and the raising ceremony was rehearsed . The first section of the lecture was worked by the Preceptor , assisted by the Brethren .
Lodge being resumed to fhe first degree , the Brethren elected Bro . Cousens P . M . to act as W . M . at the next meeting , and Bro . Foes was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for presiding . The Preceptor stated he had seldom , if ever , heard the ritual rendered in a more efficient manner .

After the opening , Bro . Coleman , at the request of the W . M ., assumed the chair and after the usual preliminaries the- ceremony of passing was rehearsed , Bro . Bagnall candidate . The Lodge was called off and on . Bro . Bagnall worked the ceremony of initiation , Bro . Oberti candidate .
Next meeting being Officers night , Bro . Handover was elected W . M . for that night fortnight and appointed the Officers in rotation . The thirty-four Benevolent votes of the Lodge of Instruction were voted to assist the candidature of Mrs . Mellis .
Metropolitan Lodge , No . 1507 . THE annual Easter holidays having ended , the Brethren assembled in strong force on Monday , 15 th inst ., at the Globe Tavern and Restaurant , Moorgate Street , E . G . Those present included Bros . R . Hunt W . M ., G . Ryon S . W ., J . J . Kern J . W .,

Blunden 1471 was unanimously elected an honorary member , which compliment was highly appreciated and acknowledged . Bro . A . J ackson 1507 was also elected a member , and acknowledged the compliment paid him .
Bro . Ryon W . M .-elect of the Jubilee Lodge was elected to preside on the following Monday . Bro . Johnson proposed , and it was agreed to , that a hearty vote of congratulation be recorded on the minutes to Bros . G . Ryon and A . C . Bradley on having been elected Masters of their respective Lodges .

M ., as often it is painfull to see the members on entering or leaving a Lodge muddle the salutes . The able working of Bro . P . Leach , who is W . M . of the Mother Lodge , is well known—on this occasion he fully maintained his reputation .

Eyre Lodge , No . 2742 . A -WELL attended meeting held ait the Eyre Arms Hotel , St . John ' s Wood , N . W ., on Wednesday , 17 th inst ., shows the popularity of this young and prosperous Lodge , a popularity which has principally been gained by the able and genial Preceptor Bro . Weston P . M .
Since the Lodge was started , about two years ago , there have been two ballots of five guineas each for the Charities , and there will shortly be sufficient funds in hand for another . The Lodge has now over eighty members , of whom about thirty were present on the 17 th when the . Lodge was opened by
Bro . G . E . Thompson , a young and energetic Mason , who did great credit to the Preceptor and himself by the nerfect manner in which he worked the first and second degrees .
