Earls Court . —Bro . Imre Kiralfy ' s forthcoming Exhibition at Earls Court promises to be of exceptional grandeur , especially as regards the Great Military Spectacle to which he has devoted much time and study . The interest taken by the country in the Siege of the Legations at Pekin is Bro . Kiralfy ' s justification in reproducing the scene of such exciting episodes , and he has been fortunate , in

receiving valuable assistance from ladies and gentlemen who were among the besieged . He is thus enabled to present the six scenes of the Spectacle with the utmost accuracy of detail , as to plans , elevations , & c In order to make it as realistic as possible the principal characters will be sustained bv actors and actresses of repute , so that the entertainment will be a dramatic ancl not a pantomimic performance . The Spectacle- will be given twice each day in the
Empress Theatre , and may therefore be enjoyed at any time independent of the weather . Still , granted a fine summer , the beautiful gardens are in themselves a sufficient attraction with the accompaniment of good music , which it is needless to say will not be forgotten . The opening ceremony has been fixed for Saturday , 4 th May , and it is not at all probable that Bro . Kiralfy ' s proverbial good fortune will desert him in what he regards " the crowning effort of his life . St. George's Day.
St . GEORGE'S DAY .
"Saint George ancl Merry England ! " ancient toast That whilom sent the life-blood to the brain ; When with a pardoning pride ' twas England ' s boast That none could vanquish her on land or main . And now we half-forget her glories past ,
And many bosoms throb with dizzy pain —• Unmindful that her power for aye shall last—That doughty deeds may still be done again . Shall we forget sweet England ' s darling daughters ? Shall we forget the bravery of her sons ? Her sway supreme upon the world's wide waters The quenchless fire of all her countless guns ? Come the whole earth , no sense of fear should thrill , Our patron saint bids weakling hearts be still ! CHAS . F . FORSHAW , LL . D . Bradford .

WEST AFRICAN SHARES .
THERE seems every likelihood that the great activity in the West African Mining Market will continue for an unlimited time , and that the boom has only just commenced . In a recent issue attention was called to the Wassiau Gold Concessions as being
one of the best among the low-priced West African shares , and worthy of the attention of the speculative investor . At the meeting of the Wassau Gold Concessions , Limited , last week , the Chairman was able to foreshadow brilliant prospects and a prosperous career for the Company . The district in which the Company's property is situated is stated to be highly auriferous , ancl that ancient gold
workings by the natives and banket formation are found throughout the property . The Company have recently been approached with regard to selling portions of their valuable property to four different Companies already established , ancl it is reported that within the next few weeks the negotiations will mature . The policy
of selling portions of a property to other Companies has always proved beneficial , and the Directors are acting in the best interests of the shareholders in adopting this course , which , it is believed , will enable them to shortly commence the payment of dividends on the shares of the Wassau Gold Concessions , Limited .
By special arrangement with Messrs . Smith , Elder and Co ., Dr . Conan Doyle ' s book upon " The Great Boer War" will appear in monthly instalments in " The Wide World Magazine . "
REPRESENTATIVES wanted for the " Freemason ' s Chronicle , " in all the principal towns of the Country . Apply to the Publisher , Fleet Works , New Barnet .
