February , 3 in Maroh , and 4 in April—aDd many ot theso had to be applied for several times , and ttaiB , notwithstanding the forms were sent written out by the S . E . in order to lessen the duties of Chapter Scribes and to ensure accuracy .

The whole matter is m the hands of the 1 st Principal ; if he is determiued to see after the interests of his Chapter—all is well , and if he is indifferent , his Chapter suffers . Since our last annual meeting the following Chapters have been consecrated : —

• 26 th June 1892 ... Prudence 2069 ... Leeds . 25 th October 1892 ... Pentalpha 974 ... Bradford . 28 th January 1893 ... Brans wick 408 ... Haworth . J 17 th April 1893 ... St . Oswald 910 ... Pontefract . making 42 Chapters in this Province . Out of this total two , I am

sorry to say , are in abeyance , and I soe little chance of their revival . I take this opportunity in conclusion to offer our best thanks to ^ the Companions of St . Oswald Chapter for their very kind reception and complete arrangements for onr convenience .

Let us wish them every sncoesa with their new Chapter , and as years roll on , let us hope that wo may again visit this antient ' own , and that the Freemasons may then be able to entertain us in a building set apart for Masonio uses .

Comp . H . T . E . Holmes P . Z . 139 then as Treasurer presented his cash account for tho year , and pointed out tbe satisfactory condition of the balance , there being £ 210 13 s 8 d in the bank to the credit of Provincial Grand

Chapter . This being accepted , Comp . Holmes then proposed : "that Comp . Fred Rand P . Z . 242 bo elected Treasurer for tbe ensuing year . " This was seconded by Comp . George Brooke P . Z . 242 and carried nem con .

Comp . Thos . Wm . Tew Grand Superintendent ( who was seated in an invalid ' s chair ) , previous to distributing the collars , said how thankful he was to the true and eve ' r living God most high to be so far restored to health tbat he was able to be present at that Convocation ; how deeply

he felt the abundant sympathy and consideration which he , had received from his numerous Masonic friends ; that he could not sit quietly there without at least saying that much , and that he trusted tbat Boyal Arch Masonry would continue to advance and progress until it had permeated

the whole Province ot West Yorkshire . After alluding to the acquisition of a site aud tho probablo erection of a new j Masonic Hall in Pontefract , which was most needful , ho proceeded personally to invest the Officers appointed , ' addressing kindly and courteous words to each individually .

West Yorkshire . It was , he said , always a pleasure to visit them ; that he was delighted to see M . E . Comp . Tew again , and that he trusted his health would continue to improve . He took this opportunity of expressing officially his thanks for the valuable help given by this

Province at the last election for Boys , and cordially invited West Yorkshire brethren to attend the Provincial Orand Lodge of North and Bast Yorkshire at Beverley on the 5 th July next . Comp . M . C . Peck also returned thanks .

A cordial vote oi thanks to tho Z . and Comps . of St . Oswald Chapter for their excellent arrangements was proposed by Comp . Billington , seconded by Comp . Uttley , and carried with acclamation .

Provincial Grand Chapter was closed at 5 * 15 p . m . Tea was provided in the Town Hall at 5 ' 30 o ' clock ; upwards of eighty Companions partook .

PROVINCIAL GRAND CHAPTER OF SUFFOLK .

rnHE annual meeting of the Provincial Grand Chapter i _ of Suffolk was held under the banner of the Martyn Chapter , No . 1224 , at the Four Swans Hotel , Sudbury , on Friday , the 19 th inst . The Chapter was opened by tho Prov . Grand Superintendent M . E . Comp . Bev . C . J . Martyn , assisted by the following Officers :--Comos . J . M .

Harvey P . G . H ., J . Hills P . G . J ., N . Tracy P . G . S . E ., S . Maude P . G . A . S ., H . J . Wright P . G . D . of C , and B . Hurst P . G . O . The minutes of the last meeting having been read and confirmed , the roll of Officers was called , those present responding . The roll of the Chapters being

called , the reports received from each were very satisfactory , with the exception of two . The report of the Board of General Purposes was received and adopted , carrying a grant of ten guineas to the Boyal Masonic Benevolent Institution .

The Prov . Grand Superintendent thon proceeded to address the Companions , and congratulated them upon the satisfactory condition of Royal Arch Masonry in tho Province , and said tbat when tbey were tired of him he

would willingly resign tho office he now held , but so long as they wished him he would continue to hold it—a statement which was received with loud aud continued applause . The Lodge was afterwards closed .
