last few days so far recovered that , accom . panied by nurses , she has been able to go to tho seaside in an advanced stage of convalescence . The terrible wound on her face whioh was inflioted by her insane assailant

has jnst closed , and it is gratifying to learn that her intellect ia now as clear and bright as formerly . Miss Wood , the daughter of the vicar of Bickley , who was the other victim of tho outrage , has completely recovered .

A show of choice flowers , including a number of fine exhibits of orchids , was opened on Thursday in the Inner Temple Gardens .
