Goodwins wero passed to the second degree . A ballot was then taken for Mr . C . C . Renaud , a
candidate for initiation , and proving unanimous , he was duly initiated , Bro . E . Blinkhorn P . M ., at the request of the W . M ., taking part in tho ceremony . After hearty good wishes from the visitors , the Lodge was closed . After tho interval , whioh was spent by the brethren in boating or in witnessing some athletic sports which were being held on the grounds adjacent , the brethren re-assembled to
partake of au excellent dinner , after which tho usual programme of toasts was gone throngh . Iu replying to that of the Provincial Grand Officer ? , Bro . W . J . Morris said that it was just twelve mouths sinco ho had boon present at one of thoir meetings . Ho was pleased to seo their familiar faces once more , ancl congratulated the Lodgo on tho progress it was making . The health of the Worshipfnl Master
was proposed in very kindly terms by Bro . J . G . Cobb , for which compliment ho briefly returned thanks . In proposing tho health of the Past Master ? , coupling the toast with tho namo of tho Immediate Past Master , tho Worshipful Master said that tho brethren who had filled tho high office of jlnster of the Lodge had earned tho respect ofthe members by tho ifiiuient manner in which they had carried
out their duties , their watchful care for the interests of the Lodge , and thoir geniality and kindliness to all tho brethren . It was only tho Worshipfnl Master who could fully appreciate the services of tho Past Masters , ho alouo could know how much ho depended upon thorn for support aud guidance , assistance ** in emergencies , and wise counsel in difficulties . He was glad of the opportunity of acknowledging
his obligation , to them . Bro . C * bb , in reply , said that any services tbo Past Masters could render were but a labour of love , and thanked the brethren for tho cordial manuer in which they luid received tho toast . The Initiate was next proposed ; tho Worshipful Master stating that ho had kuown him for sixteen or seventeen years , and ho had every confidence in introducing him to tho Lodge . Bro . 0 . C . Province , as well as their London friends , bnfc more especiall y did they welcomoat all times the colonial brethren whoocca uioually favon rod them with their company . He hoped that whenever they wero on this side thoy would not fail to pay them a visit . The toast was heartily received . Bro . Philip Sharpe said that as a member of a sister Lodgo in tho Province he was vory pleased to bo present . They
were interested in the progress that was being made . Ilo complimented the Lodge on tha uniform good working which was displayed . Bro . Walker also replied . Bro . R . L . Smith guvo a very interesting reply . It was his first visit to tho Kingswood Lod ge , thoug h ho had visited other Ledges sinco ho had been in thia country . Ho must say that the working of tho Lodgo did not compare
untavourably with that of somo of the older Lodges he had visited . Tho English working differed from that of Lodges under the -jurisdiction of tho Grand Lodge of New Brunswick . He must say ho preferred thoir own ; it waa fuller ; but in one respect ho rnnst confess they were entirely eclipsed—that was iu the ' * Fourth

Bro . W . J . Johns , Provincial Grand Secretary , reported that there were 13 Lodges ( comprising 354 ; members ) in the Province . This was considered highly satisfactory . The Provincial Grand Master made some feeling remarks
respecting the death of the distinguished brother the Duke of Clarence and Avondale . The Provincial Grand Master ' s term of office of three years having expired , it was recommended , on tho
proposition of Bro . Chirgwin Deputy Provincial Grand Master , seconded by Bvo . Trusoott P . P . G . S . W ., and supported by Bro . King Baker P . P . G . S . O ., that the Provincial Grand Master be again appointed to rule over them , aud it was carried unanimously .
