opening , aud the ceremonies of initiation and passing were rehearsed , Bro . Pitt acting as candidate . A letter was read from Bro . E . Gottheil stating that his new avocation would preclude him attending this Lodge of Instruction , where he had spent so many years of pleasurable association aud profit . Lodgo was opened with all formality . Bro . Brasted proved

himself an efficient F . C . and was entrusted . Lodge being opened up , tho coremony of raising was rehearsed , Bro . Brasted acting as candidate , tho traditional history being given . The W . Lorkin the fifth sections of that lecturo . Bro . W . Williams was elected W . M . for the ensuing week , after whioh Lodgo was closed and adjourned .

Eoyal Alfred Lodge , No . 780 . —On Saturday evening , 20 th September , W . M . Bro . May and the Officors and several P . M . ' s met at the Star and Garter Hotel , Kew Bridge , for the annual audit of tho Lodge accounts ; Bros . Sharpo and Talbot the auditors were present . Tho duties of tho evening having been fulfilled , tho W . M . and AV . M . elect invited thoso present to assemble aronnd the festive

board , which was tastefully spread by host Brill . Ample justice having been done to tho good things provided , the cloth was cleared and the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts wero given , and received with tho honours so well known to Masons . Then followed tho toasts of tho AV . M ., tho W . M . elect , the Past Masters , our worthy Secretary , the Officers' , & c , to all of which suitablo replies wero given .

Tlio W . M . elect expressed his intention with regard to his appointment of Officers for the ensuing year ; and after somo capital harmony , rendered by Bros . Hilton , Gunner , Brill , and others , the brethren dispersed shortly beforo cloven , expressing themselves extremely gratified with tho catering of tho new host , who dnring tho proceedings mado a capital speech .

Eoyal Alfred Lodge , No . 780 . —On Saturday evening , 20 th September , W . M . Bro . May and the Officors and several P . M . ' s met at the Star and Garter Hotel , Kew Bridge , for the annual audit of tho Lodge accounts ; Bros . Sharpo and Talbot the auditors were present . Tho duties of tho evening having been fulfilled , tho W . M . and AV . M . elect invited thoso present to assemble aronnd the festive

board , which was tastefully spread by host Brill . Ample justice having been done to tho good things provided , the cloth was cleared and the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts wero given , and received with tho honours so well known to Masons . Then followed tho toasts of tho AV . M ., tho W . M . elect , the Past Masters , our worthy Secretary , the Officers' , & c , to all of which suitablo replies wero given .

Tlio W . M . elect expressed his intention with regard to his appointment of Officers for the ensuing year ; and after somo capital harmony , rendered by Bros . Hilton , Gunner , Brill , and others , the brethren dispersed shortly beforo cloven , expressing themselves extremely gratified with tho catering of tho new host , who dnring tho proceedings mado a capital speech .

confirmed , and signed . Lodge was advanced , when Bro . G . E . Botley , as a candidate for raising , answered the questions . Lodge was then opened in third , and tho W . M . ably rehearsed the ceremony of raising , with Bro . Acworth as candidate . Lodgo was closed down to first degree , when the W . M . vacated the chair in favour of Bro . Gomm ( W . M . elect ) , who , with Bro . P . M . Gardiner representing the candidate , rehearsed the ceremony of initiation . Lodgo was closed , and the meeting adjourned till 3 rd October , at half-past seven .
