After the nsnal routine bnsiness , minntes were read and confirmed , and somo correspondence considered . Tho brethren then adjourned to the Falcon Hot el , where a sumptuous repast was provided by Brother Atkin , who has only recently been
initiated into tho mysteries of tho Craft . On this occasion the Officers entertained their justly esteemed W . M ., and Brother Elgey P . M . presided , while Brother Bordass occupied tho vice chair . On tho removal of tho cloth , ancl aft ^ r tho usual Loyal and Masonic toasts had been honoured , Brother Elgey in a characteristic speech proposed the health of tho Worshipful Master , bearing testimony to
the great kindness and ability with which Brother Porritt had presided over the brethren during hia year of office . His retentive memory and pleasant delivery woro rare gifts , and enabled him to render the important parts of the ritual in such a manner that every visitor and brother conld enjoy each part of tho ceremony . Elected to fill the chair of K . S . by the unanimous vote of the brethren , Bro .
Porritt had ruled and governed his Lodge by tho unerring standard of impartiality ancl justice , in snch a mnnrer as to elicit the entire approval of the brethren ; he had adjusted grievances , consolidated the finances of the Lodge , and rallied ronnd him an enthusiastic staff of Officers . Whilst taking the greatest interest in the Lodge , he had never been unmindful of the great responsibilities of his office , and
had laboured during his year to promote that kindly feeling amongst the brethren so essential to its welfare and success . Tho W . M . responded in feeling terms , and reviewed his membership of the Sykes Lodge . Ho thanked Brother Elgey for the kind words he had said concerning him , and the brethren and officers for the cordial manner in which they had received tho toast of his health . His
connection with the brethren of the Craft had shown him an unlimited and unmitigated flow of friendship and pleasure , and he should never forget the kindness of tho brethren towards him . His was a labour of love , and it was indeed highly gratifying to find himself in hia present position . Other toasts followed , the evening being enlivened by numerous songs .

THE installation meeting of this Lodgo took place on Thursday , tho 11 th instant , at the Masonic Hall , Thirsk , when there was a good attendance of members , as well as visitors from other Lodges . Tho ceremony took place at two o'clock , and was performed by Brother T . B . Whytehead P . P . G . S . W ., who placed in tho chair Bro . James Walton , the S . Many letters of apology wero read , and tho Lodge was closed amidst " Hearty good wishes" from all quarters . An admirable banquet was prepared at the Fleece Hotel , notoriously one of the t >~ ' * -, houses in England for wines ancl cookery , and the brethren c- j v I a very happy evening , interspersed with harmony .
GALLERY LODGE , No . 1928 . TOE installation meeting of this Ledge was held iu Brixton Hall , on the 13 th inst ., the Worshipful Master Bro . Thos . Minstrel ! presiding . Since the last meeting of tho brethren their Lodge room had undergone complete reconstruction , and of necessity therefora redecoration , and the proprietor has now a Masonio templo which is capable of meeting almost any reciu ' rements which tin exigences
' < of tho Craft or Eoyal Arch Masonry require . Tho alterations it is needless to say met with tho entire approbation of tlio brethren of the Gallery Lodge , and we believe also of the Brixton Lodge , who use the samo room . After the nsnal routine bnsiness , minntes were read and confirmed , and somo correspondence considered . Tho brethren then adjourned to the Falcon Hot el , where a sumptuous repast was provided by Brother Atkin , who has only recently been
initiated into tho mysteries of tho Craft . On this occasion the Officers entertained their justly esteemed W . M ., and Brother Elgey P . M . presided , while Brother Bordass occupied tho vice chair . On tho removal of tho cloth , ancl aft ^ r tho usual Loyal and Masonic toasts had been honoured , Brother Elgey in a characteristic speech proposed the health of tho Worshipful Master , bearing testimony to
the great kindness and ability with which Brother Porritt had presided over the brethren during hia year of office . His retentive memory and pleasant delivery woro rare gifts , and enabled him to render the important parts of the ritual in such a manner that every visitor and brother conld enjoy each part of tho ceremony . Elected to fill the chair of K . S . by the unanimous vote of the brethren , Bro .
Porritt had ruled and governed his Lodge by tho unerring standard of impartiality ancl justice , in snch a mnnrer as to elicit the entire approval of the brethren ; he had adjusted grievances , consolidated the finances of the Lodge , and rallied ronnd him an enthusiastic staff of Officers . Whilst taking the greatest interest in the Lodge , he had never been unmindful of the great responsibilities of his office , and
had laboured during his year to promote that kindly feeling amongst the brethren so essential to its welfare and success . Tho W . M . responded in feeling terms , and reviewed his membership of the Sykes Lodge . Ho thanked Brother Elgey for the kind words he had said concerning him , and the brethren and officers for the cordial manner in which they had received tho toast of his health . His
connection with the brethren of the Craft had shown him an unlimited and unmitigated flow of friendship and pleasure , and he should never forget the kindness of tho brethren towards him . His was a labour of love , and it was indeed highly gratifying to find himself in hia present position . Other toasts followed , the evening being enlivened by numerous songs .
FALCON LODGE , No . 1416 . THE installation meeting of this Lodgo took place on Thursday , tho 11 th instant , at the Masonic Hall , Thirsk , when there was a good attendance of members , as well as visitors from other Lodges . Tho ceremony took place at two o'clock , and was performed by Brother T . B . Whytehead P . P . G . S . W ., who placed in tho chair Bro . James Walton , the S . W . of tho Lodge during the previous year . Amongst thoso who were present at the ceremony

Eepresentative . Brother Whytehead presented to the Lodge a Copy of Brother Hughan ' s latest work on tho "English Eite of Freemasonry , " and several other minor works , and received the thanks of tho Lndtrp . Many letters of apology wero read , and tho Lodge was closed amidst " Hearty good wishes" from all quarters . An admirable banquet was prepared at the Fleece Hotel , notoriously one of the t >~ ' * -, houses in England for wines ancl cookery , and the brethren c- j v I a very happy evening , interspersed with harmony .
GALLERY LODGE , No . 1928 . TOE installation meeting of this Ledge was held iu Brixton Hall , on the 13 th inst ., the Worshipful Master Bro . Thos . Minstrel ! presiding . Since the last meeting of tho brethren their Lodge room had undergone complete reconstruction , and of necessity therefora redecoration , and the proprietor has now a Masonio templo which is capable of meeting almost any reciu ' rements which tin exigences
' < of tho Craft or Eoyal Arch Masonry require . Tho alterations it is needless to say met with tho entire approbation of tlio brethren of the Gallery Lodge , and we believe also of the Brixton Lodge , who use the samo room . Certainly the Companions of iho newly consecrated Gallery Chapter had every reason to bo sntisfi -d with tho

Doubtless oth-r Lodges and Chapters will find in Brixton Hall a very comfoi table abiding place , particularly if tho proprietor carries out his inclination to pnvidu Chapter and Lodge furniture for tbo general use , charging of course a small V \> nt for the additional facilities which he is somewhat inclined to provide .
