New Finsbury Park Lodge , No . 1695 . —The reanlar meeting was held on Tuesday , tho 17 th inst . Bros . T . Press W . M ., II . B . D . Dunn S . W ., Hollis P . P . S . D . Herts as J . W ., Davis P . M . Treas ., A . J . Berry P . M . Sec , J . N . Thompson S . D ., G . Edmunds J . D ., J . II . Bastable I . G ., J . Eldridgo P . M . D . C ., C . Hutchinson Steward , Grout Organist ; P . M . ' s W . T . Purkiss I . P . M .,

Eiohmond , Hollis , Perfect , Ayden , Ac . After preliminaries , ballots wero taken for tho admission of Messrs . J . C . Edwards and F . M . B . Bowora , who wero duly initiated into tho Order . Bros . P . Richmond , J . W . Clayton and J . E . Perfect were raised to tho third degree . Credit is duo to the W . M . for his working , in which ho was ably assisted by the Officers . A candidate was proposed for initiation at

next meeting and two brethren for joining ; this will complete the number of members , tho Lodge being restricted to 40 . Bro . Davis P . M . and Treasurer proposed that a Lodgo of Instruction be established under the warrant of the Lodgo , to be called the Now Finsbury Park Lodge of Instruction , —Bro . Purkiss has offered tho uso of a commodious room for tho purpose , —and that a Committeo bo formed

to carry out tho arrangements . This was seconded by the S . W ., and carried unanimonsly . Tho resignation of a Brother was accepted , with regret . Bro . Earl announced his intention to act as Steward for the next Festival of tho Girls' School . Hearty good wishes wero given by the Visitors , and the Lodge waa closed . The brethren then sat down to a very sumptuous banquet , and dessert , provided by Bros .

Bertram and Eoberts , that gave great satisfaction . Grace having been said , tho W . M . proposed tho first Loyal toast . The National Anthem was sung , Bro . Davis P . M . taking the solo verses . After the toast of the Grand Master , Bro . Eichmond sang " God Bless tho Princo of Wales , " accompanied by Bro . Grout on tho Piano . Bro . Purkiss I . P . M . then took possession of the gavel to propose the toast of the

W . M ., who had done tho duties of the Lodge in every respect to their satisfaction . Under his auspices they might in every respect anticipate a successful year of office . Tho W . M . thanked Bro . Purkiss for the kind manner he had spoken of him , and the brethren for their reception of the toast , his services wero at their command ; this young and promising Lodgo had his hearty co-operation ; if he had

worked the ceremony to their satisfaction he was proud . Bro . George Edmunds then sang " Bonnie Dundee . " Tho W . M . next proposed tho toast of tho Initiates ; this was the toast of tho evening . Tho new members had come with good recommendations , and they welcomed them heartily . Bros . Edwards and Bower 3 briefly replied . The E . A . song was sung . The toast of the Visitors was next given ,

and Bro . Blackie W . M . The Great City Lodge 1426 responded . Tho W . M . then proposed the toast of the I . P . M . Bro . Purkiss , who had so endeared himself to them all . No more kind and genial Mason could be found ; the members all wished him health and prosperity , and that he might wear the jewel of the Lodgo for many years . After a song from Bro . Pierpoint , Bro . Purkiss replied ; he felt

proud at having been the first Master of this flourishing Lodgo ; ho had served 'the office two years . It was gratifying to noto tho liberality of the members ; they had , indeed , aided him to represent the Charities three times . Bro . Earl , who was initiated in tho Lodge , will this year bo a Steward , for tho second time , and ho ( Bro . Purkiss ) hoped the brethren would give him their support .

Tho Treasurer and Secretary , Bros . Davis and Berry , wero next complimented ; two more indefatigiblo brethren conld not bo fonnd . Bro . Eldridgo P . M . D . C . responded on behalf of tho Treasurer Bro . Davis , who was obliged to leave ; ho was proud to endorse tho words of Bro . Purkiss . Tho Lodgo was in a flourishing condition , and while all liabilities had received attention , tho Charities had not been

forgotten . Bro . Berry , aa one of tho founders , hoped ho had dono all in his power for tho welfare of tho Lodgo ; tho number of members was limited , and the initiation fee would now bo raised . He had been gratified by the remark made by tho Visitors as to the Lodge of Instruction—that by its establishment the younger brethren wonld be enabled to perfect themselves to follow in tho footsteps of tho W . M . The Junior Officers was the next toast ; no better

workers could be found . The W . M . hoped to seo them all occupy the chair . At this stage of tho proceedings , tho worthy Secretary Bro . Berry announced , amidst loud applause , that tho brethren had nobly supported Bro . Earl ' s list for tho Girls' School , by subscribing tho sum of 39 guineas , five guineas of which was given by Bro . Fisher ( 1524 ) , a visitor . Bro . Earl thanked the brethren for their support j ho hoped to carry up a good list for that noble Charity .
