The Mystic Tie.

THE MYSTIC TIE .

There is a tie that binds us close In unity and love ; A tie that bids us firmly trust , The Architect above .

A tie thab others wot not of—A tie both staunch and trne That bids ns ever stedfast be As life we journey through .

This mystic tie is broad and long , Aud yet , withal , so free , It speaks of peace and hope and joy , And tender amity .

It tolls of bosoms fraught with bliss , It whispers soft and low , Of souls that will together cling Iu pleasure and iu woe .

It is a tie that the strongest , Can never rend apart ; It is a tie that ' s deep engraven Iu each Masonic heart . A tie of the great

hereafter—A bond of quaint desigu—An emblem of power and beauty—A token and a sign . CHAS . P . FOHSIIAW , LL . D . Bradford .

Bro . J . Russell , J . P ., of Gravesend , was installed as W . M of the Erasmus Wilson Lodge , No . 1461 , last Saturday .

The General Committee meeting of the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls was held on Thursday . The principal item of business was the . election of House Committee , for which , contrary to the customs of the past , three new candidates had been nominated . The possible introduction

of new blood was stoutly resented on the parfc of the old members , somo of whom addressed themselves to the voters in forcible terms on the proposed innovation . Tho result , however , has proved that the Craffc remains truo to its old love , the former members of the Committee

being re-elected b y large majorities . The opposition has not done any harm . It has shown thafc fche interests of the Institution are being watched , and it will doubtless arouse the Committeemen to even greater energy in tho

future than they have shown in the past . With the knowledge that inattention or apathy in tho work maylead to the loss of a seat on the board we may be sure thafc the members of the Committee will not think of neglecting ; their duties .
